All the enemies of Armenia – whether internal or external – will unequivocally and inevitably face a crushing defeat thanks to our police forces who maintain the security of our borders day and night, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in a speech on Friday.
The premier visited the General Headquarters of the Police earlier today to congratulate the command and the officers on their professional holiday, i.e. – the anniversary of the formation of the national police troops.
Addressing the ceremony, Pashinyan also praised the increased efficiency of the police forces over the past year (since his election to office). He noted that the police troops conscientiously maintain a strong vigil along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, “guaranteeing the security of the civilians and offering their tangible assistance to the military.”
“By sending the police troops to the borders to defend the security of our fatherland, we express our understanding also of the internal relations in Armenia, [reaffirming] that the Armenian society must be devoid of any violence. Any mentality, any attempt or propaganda to resolve problems through violence must be prevented from having any place in our society. So we are calling – and will keep calling – this understanding to life thanks to our daily consistent efforts.
“Yet in this case too, we do see certain people who attempt to interpret our unsparing aspiration to create аn atmosphere of love and solidarity in the Republic of Armenia as a sign of weakness. Hence it is my desire to state clearly here today that you may make no doubt about the Armenian Government’s [resoluteness to avoid] ever demonstrating timidity or lack of willingness when it comes to the protection of our constitutional order, citizens’ will, sovereignty, freedom of citizens and democracy in Armenia. Our willingness will be unwavering, and our hands will not ever shake in our relations with those who ever will try regenrate the propaganda and practice of violence in the Republic of Armenia. But should certain forces make attempts to interpret this motive of ours as an expression of weakness, they will inevitably meet the counteraction of our collective will and power – the kind of counteraction that will be given by those servicemen of the police forces who are standing firmly in the defense positions of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian poeple. Our will is resolute as we are standing firmly on the soil of our fatherland. Hence no enemy – whether internal or external – will ever be able shake our unity. All the enemies of Armenia will unequivocally and unconditionally face a defeat,” he added.
