Representatives from the foreign ministries of Turkey and Azerbaijan are are visiting Yerevan on Wednesday (June 27) to attend the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states’ regular ministerial meeting.
Tigran Balayan, the press secretary of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the report to Tert.am, adding that Azerbaijan will participate in the event on the level of a deputy foreign minister.
“Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev, a deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan, and Omar Kuckuk, an officer in charge for multilateral economic relations, are set to arrive in Yerevan,” he said.
Founded in 1992 based upon the Istanbul Summit Declaration, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation aims to foster an efficient cooperation among the countries in the Black Sea region.Its member states are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
Armenia took over the Organization’s six-month chairmanship at its 51st plenary session in Tirana, Albania, on June 21.
