STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 3, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “Talking about last year, we can’t not talk about our efforts, first of all the efforts of our President in stopping the military operations in South Caucasus, reaching the agreements over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. They are now being successfully implemented with the involvement of our ministry, the ministry of defense, as well as with the participation of our economic bloc which ensures negotiations over the unblocking of all communications and economic ties in that region”, the Russian FM said at the meeting with the participation of an educational marathon.
Putin and Lavrov are letting pan-Turkism into the Caucasus, Caspian, North Caucasus, and Central Asia.
They are perhaps listening to pro-Turkic Eurasianist Dugin.
Bad move.
Couldn’t agree more Tavo! Honestly, I didn’t expect more from Russia, which happens to be Armenia’s so-called “guarantor of security”, “strategic partner” and “military ally”. They’re very cautious not to harm their so-called “pragmatic” relationship with Turkey. Since 2015 they have been too busy pleasing Turkey in order to pull it away from NATO, bring it to their camp, and facilitate the first Slavic-Turkic alliance in the Caucasus and Central Asia. The “pragmatic relation” with Turkey even forced the so-called “superpower” to abandon their national pride and dignity. Russians stayed “pragmatic” (read passive) even when their military jet was shot down over Syria (2015), or when their ambassador to Turkey was assassinated in Ankara (2016), or when Turkish/Azeri forces shot down a military copter over Nakhijevan and murdered two Russian servicemen (2020). And despite all of these, Russia invited Turkey (a party directly and openly involved in a genocidal war against Armenian people) to monitor the so-called “ceasefire”. There is a Persian proverb in this regard: they asked the fox “who is your witness”? the fox replied “my tail”!
