The Armenian leader has congratulated the French people on their national holiday.
According to a press release by the presidential office, Serzh Sargsyan on Monday visited the French Embassy in Yerevan to extend his greetings to Ambassador Henri Reynaud and the embassy staff.
He further issued a congratulatory address to French President Francois Holland.
The message is provided below:
Your Excellency,
I warmly congratulate you and extend my best wishes to you and the French people on the National Holiday of the French Republic.
It is with special warmth that I remember your state visit to Armenia in May this year, as it imparted a new spirit to the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and France and the continuous strengthening of the friendly relations between our peoples. I am confident that the effective implementation of the agreements reached during your visit will contribute to the further strengthening of the mutually beneficial Armenian-French relations in the trade-economic sector.
The atmosphere of mutual trust between our peoples – anchored on historically close contacts and common values – creates solid grounds for recording a progress in all directions. I am sure that the sustainable mutual partnership developed between Armenia and France in both bilateral and multilateral formats will keep pursuing the path of strengthening and deepening to the benefit of our nations’ welfare.
Profiting by the occasion, I once again thank you for the important mission which France carries out as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, offering its contribution to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the strengthening of peace and stability in the region.
Once again congratulating you on the French National Holiday, I wish success and all the best to you, and progress and welfare to the French people, our friends.
