Armenian oligarchs now control 90% of Armenian economy

YEREVAN. – The Closed Market opened after renovation on Monday morning.
Around ninety percent of the pavilions belong to MP Samvel Aleksanyan’s “Yerevan City” chain. Another ten pavilions are free for farmers. Natali Pharm pharmacy chain belonging to Aleksanyan will function in the market, too.
The renovation of the Closed Market, an old building in Armenian capital’s center, caused indignation of the residents. “Let’s liberate monument from an oligarch” initiative was set up to save the Closed Market. Numerous demonstrations were held.
The market was created by architect Grigor Aghababyan and engineer Hamazasp Arakelyan., and was recognized one of the best architectural constructions in Armenia.
