Garo Paylan, the Armenian MP of the Turkish parliament, has sent a written question to Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar regarding a publication of Nordic Monitor, a Turkish analytical center in Sweden.
Paylan inquired whether the Turkish Armed Forces had a plan, named “Altay,” to attack Armenia.
“Is this plan still relevant?” he wrote in his query. “For what purpose and with what motive was it made? Will you make efforts to eliminate the concern caused among the people of Armenia due to these allegations and to re-establish the expectations of peace?”
Nordic Monitor reported that Turkey planned to attack Armenia in the 2000s. The Turkish authorities have not yet given any clarification on this issue.
