The vice-chairman of the ruling party of Turkey has touched upon the matter of normalization of relations with Armenia.
Regarding the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Omer Celik stressed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has several principal views on this matter: Azerbaijan’s positive attitude to the process, opening of archives, removal of the Armenian Genocide issue from political tribunes and leaving it to historians, Anadolu Agency reported.
“The initiative to normalize relations with Armenia can take place on the condition that Armenia abandons its aggressive and invasive policy against Azerbaijan. Besides, the most sensitive point for President Erdogan is that our Azerbaijani brothers and [Azerbaijan president] Mr. [Ilham] Aliyev look positively on the normalization of Turkey’s relations with Armenia,” Celik said.
George Pavlikian says
Normalization of the relations based on preconditions dictated by sultan Erdogan and his puppet Aliyev (i.e. recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, and opening of the so-called “Zangezur corridor”) is an insult by Pashinoglu (and his supporters) to the sacred memory of 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide!

Preconditions and equality by Turkey?
Only an interesting and possibly fruitful meeting on neutral territory, Moscow for example, can be achieved if real military and economic mutual agreements are made based on sovereignty and equality.
And that the Turks make a good gesture in accepting and acknowledging the black page in their history of origin in 1923. For to hide behind the fact that the genocide took place before the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 is an offer of weakness and dishonour. The Republic of Turkey was founded on genocide and war. So it is Ankara that should be of goodwill without preconditions and not Yerevan.
The foundations of the Republic of Turkey are based on war, murder, ethnic cleansing, genocide and forced assimilation of Jews, Greeks, Armenians, Kurds and Christian Assyrians. So recognising this inky black page of their genesis will shake the whole republic to its foundations and make it collapse like a phantom.
They will have retrograde amnesia and lose the ability to recall events that happened.
Besides, Armenia now has a golden opportunity to get into the middle of the geopolitical game given the North-South and East-West trade routes, which are embraced by all “friendly” parties (Moscow, Tehran, EU, Washington, New Delhi). Just a mutual agreement and interest.
