Turkey’s reaction to the decision of the Dutch parliament to recognize the Armenian Genocide was predictable, acting Dutch foreign minister Sigrid Kaag said on Friday.
She did not go further into details, saying that a response to a reaction is always a bad idea, De Telegraaf reported.
Turkish foreign ministry condemned this decision calling it “baseless” and not “legally binding”. The chargé d’affaires of the Netherlands was summoned to the Turkish foreign office.
According to the parliament’s decision, a Dutch cabinet member will be present in Yerevan in April at the commemoration of Armenian Genocide.
