We learned of the death of Benjamin Whitaker occurred on June 8 This British politician, a lawyer by training and a member of the Labour Party will forever be inscribed in history under the ‘Whitaker Report “a report in 1985 to the Subcommittee of the United Nations responsible for the study on the issue Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. A report which officially recognized the Armenian Genocide. For this report, the UN acknowledged that the massive destruction of the Armenians by the Turks between 1915 and 1923 was indeed a genocide.
