YEREVAN. – It turns out that it’s acceptable for the Turkish diplomacy not to respond to the invitation to attend the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial sent by President Sargsyan, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told Armenpress agency.
He emphasized that it turned out to be acceptable for the Turkish side to move to that very day the events devoted to the anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli and, furthermore, to dare to send an invitation to the Armenian leader contrary to all moral standards.
“By such simple deceptions, Ankara makes another unsuccessful attempt to conceal its inability to face with the past and accept the historical truth, which can pave way for the regulation of the ArmenianTurkish relations. To avoid appearing in such absurd situations, the Turkish authorities should have changed not the traditional day of marking the anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli, but change their way of thinking, which is continuation of the policy of genocide,” Kocharyan added.
