A teenager was shot in the leg by a police officer in resort town of Antalya on Wednesday while attempting to take a Turkish flag.
19-year-old boy entered into the yard of the Bahçelievler Police Station in Muratpaşa district and started to climb up the flag pole. A police officer on duty warned him repeatedly to come down and he defied the police officer and continued climbing up the pole. The suspect defied police even after he fired two warning shots in the air. When the suspect grabbed the Turkish flag, police officer shot him in the leg and called an ambulance.
Police have launch an investigation into the incident after the teenager was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
