Officials on Monday identified the two men who died in a shooting in Valley Glen late Saturday that may have been a gang-related killing. Ed Winter, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, identified the shooting victims as Hakop Papazian, 47, of Van Nuys, and Vartkes Mesrobian, 57, of Arcadia. Both men were shot in the 6700 block of Greenbush Avenue in Valley Glen at 8:45 pm, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Mesrobian was pronounced dead at the scene, Winter said. Papazian was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m. No details were available yet about the men’s injuries — an autopsy is pending for both victims, Winter said.Neither a detailed description of the suspect nor details on the weapon used in the killing have been released.
And officials still have not released a possible motive. But LAPD officials on Monday said the crime was being investigated by the department’s gang homicide unit. Detectives in the unit were not available for comment Monday morning
