Three Armenians have become deputies in Georgia’s new parliament, Georgian-Armenian community representative Alexander Ohanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Capital city Tbilisi resident Ruslan Poghosyan, who was in the top forty of the “Georgian Dream” bloc, was elected MP. Also, United National Movement’s (UNM) two representatives, namely, former Javakheti Police Chief Samvel Petrosyan and former parliament member Henzel Mikoyan, were elected MPs, by the majority election system, from Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda cities.
To note, Georgia’s previous parliament likewise had three Armenian MPs: Armenak Bayanduryan, Henzel Mikoyan and Harutyun Hovhannisyan, all of whom represented UNM.
