On Monday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard (Al-Harss Al-Jamhouri) carried out multiple attacks on Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) military installments on Sakr Island (Hajeewa Sakr), resulting in the death of a number of militants in the 2nd and 3rd Districts.
The 104th Brigade’s attack on the 2nd and 3rd Districts resulted in 19 ISIS fighters killed and another 22 wounded before they were able to capture a number of building blocks in the vicinity, reports Almasdarnews.com.
Earlier today, an ISIS contingent attempted to break-through the SAA’s frontline defenses at Al-Jafra once again; this time, they were forced to withdrawal due to the numerous airstrikes launched by the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF). According to a military source, 18 airstrikes were conducted on ISIS positions in Al-Jafra and Al-Mari’iyyah, crippling their attack and forestalling their advance at these imperative areas in the Deir Ezzor District.
