YEREVAN, MAY 22, The City Council of the Ryd City of Australia unanimously adopted a resolution on May 22 to support the independence of the Republic of Artsakh. In the resolution, the city council called on the central government to officially recognize the independence of the Artsakh Republic and to strengthen the relations of Australia with Artsakh and its citizens. The Information and Public Relations Department of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan informed “Armenpress” about this.

Resolution:
1. The City Council of Ryd City notes that in 2018, marks the 30th anniversary of the Artsakh liberation movement, which led to the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh (formerly Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) in 1991.
2. Ryd City City Council
a) Confirms the fundamental human right to self-determination and the importance of free and democratic society,
b) Recognizes the right of all peoples, including the people of the Artsakh Republic to self-determination;
c) emphasizes the continuous efforts of the Republic of Artsakh aimed at building a free and democratic society through the legitimate parliamentary elections and forming a responsible government.
d) Supports and encourages the involvement of the Republic of Artsakh in the international community in achieving the solution of existing regional problems and establishing peace and stability;
e) Encourages the establishment of peaceful relations with the Republic of Artsakh, as well as provision of humanitarian and economic assistance to the Artsakh people;
f) urges the Federal Government to officially recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh and strengthen the relations of Australia with the Republic of Artsakh and its citizens;
