Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan, the official representative of the election headquarters of the “Armenia” bloc, led by second President Robert Kocharyan, on Wednesday issued a statement.
“(…) after the calling of snap parliamentary elections, the ‘Armenia’ bloc is carrying out the process of forming election offices in Yerevan and the provinces.
We have received an alarm from some provincial offices that some individual police officers, seeing the signs of the ‘Armenia’ bloc, have entered the spaces of the offices without any justification, and tried to inquire about the sign of the office and other organizational matters of the office.ADVERTISING
(…) no police officer can assume the function of the Central Electoral Commission, is obligated to remain within his competence, and to not even make any attempt to exert indirect pressure on the partners of the ‘Armenia’ bloc headquarters.
We draw the attention of the Central Electoral Commission, as well as the organizations carrying out international observation mission, to such behavior, taking into account the objective concerns of the abuse of administrative resources.
In the event of a recurrence of such unacceptable behavior, we will initiate drastic legal processes,” the statement said, in particular.
