YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Kazem Sadjadi handed over the copies of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.
Minister wished him good luck in fulfilling his mission and expressed hope that Ambassador’s activities will promote the expansion of the Armenian-Iranian relations and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the good wishes, the Ambassador stressed that the Iranian authorities attach great importance to strengthening of friendly relations with the Armenian people and assured that during his tenure the Ambassador will make every effort for the development of bilateral relations.
The meeting focused on political, economic and cultural cooperation, joint projects, the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
The sides exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the field of infrastructure and energy.
Edward Nalbandian stressed the importance of the agreements reached over Iranian nuclear program as an important step towards strengthening of regional stability. The Minister expressed confidence that it will be an additional incentive for the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and friendly Iran.
