The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), an NGO opposed to Bachar al-Asad has indicated that the number of mercenaries of Syrian origin who have died fighting in Upper Karabakh, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is already higher than the number of those killed in Libya.
According to the SOHR, located in the United Kingdom, the number of Syrian mercenaries killed in Upper Karabakh would amount to 541, 50 more than in the previous report, while in the Libyan conflict the figure would be around 470. Financial aid is even contemplated in case of receiving injuries and, upon death, the family also receives a financial endowment. Regarding the repatriation of the corpses of the combatants, it is estimated that more than three hundred have already returned to Syria.
