Distortion of
history is among the priorities of Azerbaijan’s policy, says an article posted on Iranian website Arannews.ir.
According to Yaqub Mahmudov, Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan cooperates with Turkey in writing common history for Turks, says the article.
Commenting on this statement by the Azerbaijani historian, the Iranian website says, “This information makes it clear how Azerbaijan, a center of support for pan-Azerbaijanism, and Turkey, a center of pan-Turkism, will distort history with joint efforts.
As for Azerbaijan, this state has been distorting history since the communist era as well as since its independence.”
