The expectations in post-revolutionary Armenia are very high and beyond the abilities of every person, the secretary of the National Security Council said today, commenting on Valeriy Osipyan’s dismissal as the Chief of Police.
“We are facing specific tasks in terms of implementing large-scale reforms. And we required to develop the ability to translate the revolution-style ideas and visions into real life. Yet, certain heads of [government] agencies have demonstrated, up until now, that they actually fall short of meeting the existing expectations. And this is what pushed the prime minister to make the kind of decision,” Armen Grigoryan told reporters, without unveiling details.
Osipyan, who headed the Armenian Police since May 2018, was relieved of his duties on September 10. Later the same day, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a decision to appoint him as a chief advisor in his staff.
Earlier, Artur Vanetsyan was dismissed from his post of Director of the National Security Service (NSS).
