Irakli II Union NGO welcomes the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by many democratic countries and calls on the Georgian authorities to follow them.
According to Regnum news agency, NGO’s head Archil Chkoidze stated that at a conference scheduled on April 17 they are going to once again apply to the Georgian authorities demanding recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
“The participants of the conference will pay a tribute to the memory of the victims of 1915 Armenian Genocide with one minute of silence and the Union will again apply to the government with the demand to recognize the Armenian Genocide which with its scale is similar to Holocaust,” Chkoidze said.
He said during the conference they will discuss Armenian-Georgian relations and the attempts of distorting the history which is being done on purpose to saw hatred between the two brotherly states.
