The September 26, 2015 on the occasion of the sixth government meeting dedicated to the events of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was asked to Hranouche Hagopian, Minister of Diaspora and the Ministries of Culture, Education and science, to prepare a comprehensive report on the Armenian diaspora organizations as part of a file on “the situation of Armenians in the world.” This report is a first. It should contain many elements of the Armenian diaspora, its role, its power, the preservation of its identity, its challenges, the Armenian community in Turkey, the Islamized Armenians, the issue of the Armenians of Syria and many other topics the Diaspora. The political vision of the Armenian communities of the Diaspora, its projects, its community structure as part of the record. There has never been a census of diaspora Armenians, but according to generally accepted data, the number of Armenians living outside the territory of the Republic of Armenia is estimated at more than 7 million. According to the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora Armenians are present in 112 countries worldwide. The largest Armenian communities living in CIS countries (about 3 million), North America and Central America (1.7 million), Europe (1.7 million). In Georgia they would be 250,000, South America 255 000, Asia and the Middle East 460,000.
The sources we count 821 Armenian communities (countries, cities) in the world the number of Armenian organizations and associations reach 30 000. The latter comprising the majority of Diaspora Armenians. There -according to the Armenian Ministry of diaspora 724 Armenian churches or monasteries and temples in the Diaspora. Some of these buildings would require repair or maintenance. Especially those who e are in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
The diaspora also has nearly a thousand daily or weekly schools attended by nearly 400 000 young people who learn Armenian.
There are also 30 Armenian diaspora in museums, archives centers, 103 centers for Armenology (29 in the US, 11 in Russia, nine in France, 9 Italy 7 in Lebanon, etc …).
The three Armenian traditional parties (Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun, Ramgavar Azadagan Goussagtsoutioun and Social Démocratagan Hentchakian Goussagtsoutioun) are present in the Diaspora as well as defense organizations of the Armenian Cause. These are very active over the last 40 years, particularly in the US and Europe.
In more than 100 Armenian communities exist in total 638 cultural centers, troops of Armenian dances, choirs, music ensembles, or theaters.
