On July 2, 2019 the US Embassy celebrated the 243th anniversary of the United States Independence which was marked by a beautiful evening of music, coupled with American hospitality and fireworks, US Embassy in Armenia reports.
In his speech addressed to the guests, USAID Armenian mission director Deborah Grieser reaffirmed United States support for Armenia’s democratic developments, noting: “Being in Armenia in recent years, I have been delighted to see how the Armenian people build their new democratic path. The United States is ready to continue the cooperation with all Armenian circles in our society so that the democratic vision of the Armenian people becomes reality. “
In his remarks Grieser also touched upon the major role of US founder, US Third President Thomas Jefferson in the history of the United States, highlighting his observation that the revolution is still the starting point for the change.
The United States Independence Day is celebrated every year on July 4th, exactly on the same day when at 1776 the US Declaration of Independence was adopted. For Americans, this holiday is the United States birthday.
During the solemn ceremony, the national anthems of Armenia and the United States were sung by “Hover” State Chamber Choir.
The soul gift band of Giesel Jackson and Rafael Wressnig made glamorized the event, representing exclusively American motown music, which is a unique combination of pop, R & B, and sophisticated music of the 1960s. On July 3, at 20:00, the band will perform a free open-air concert in the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden.
