The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is developing the single currency concept to apply it to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
EEC Chairman Tigran Sargyan said Friday that the topic is among the key priorities on the Commission’s current agenda. “The development of a payment system and mutual payments are among the key initiative being discussed in the commission,” he told reporters after the EAEU Supreme Council’s session in St Petersburg.
Sargsyan added that the member states’ banks are now also developing a concept for a common financial market. He promised to address the topic again after his current joint work with the Central Banks
