Armenia retaliates against Azerbaijani aggression; 4 killed last night ten soldiers in two days

December 30, 2016 By administrator

Last night saw follow-on to Azerbaijan’s provocation on Thursday: the Armenian troops retaliated killing four Azerbaijani troops, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Spokesman for Armenia’s defense office, wrote on his Facebook page.

“In fact, the enemy’s military gamble has claimed the life of more than ten soldiers in two days. Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has repeatedly confirmed that it has at its disposal undeniable facts of great losses suffered by Azerbaijan.”

The Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) secretary general, Nikolay Bordyuzha, described the incident as a provocation in recent comments.

“The CSTO Secretariat is seriously concerned over the incident in the vicinities of the village Chinari. We treat those actions on the territory of a CSTO member state as provocation, especially against the background of the heavy incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh in April this year, which saw heavy weaponry used.

“The efforts by the two sides, as well as several other states, seemed to be conducive to an active process towards eventually settling the conflict.  But the recent reports from the region, particularly the December 29 incident that claimed servicemen’s lives, are a serious concern.

Turkey’s beloved ISIL Burn Alive 2 Turkish Soldiers, Shoot Dead 2 Other Servicemen

December 22, 2016 By administrator

Deash terrorists have burned alive two Turkish captives and executed two more, posting the videos on social media.

Two servicemen, Serter Taş and Fethi Şahin, were set on fire by terrorists before dying. Daesh militants kidnapped the two men along the Syria-Turkey border approximately one year ago.

Daesh published a 19 minute video depicting the chained up soldiers, a portion of which has been subsequently published by media outlets. The Mirror has reported that the men seen in the footage were burnt in Syria, but that the location remains unclear.

Within an hour of the release of the video, the Turkish government reportedly blocked access to social media across the entire nation. Two more Turkish soldiers, Kıvanç Kaşıkçı and Muhamed Duran Keskin, died by gunshot wounds to the head after terrorists captured them just last month near al-Bab, approximately 40 km northeast of Aleppo. On August 24, Turkish forces with support of a US-led coalition aircraft began a military operation to clear Daesh from the Syrian border town of Jarabulus. The joint forces continued the offensive southwest after the city was retaken. Last year, Jordan retaliated for the execution of a Jordanian pilot, again burned alive, by killing four al-Qaeda operatives in Jordanian custody.

Syria: 14 Turkish soldiers killed, 33 wounded in 3 suicide car bombs attacks

December 21, 2016 By administrator

3 suicide car bombs cause heaviest single day loss for Turkish army in its Syria operation that started in August

BY AFP,

A total of 14 Turkish soldiers were killed and 33 wounded Wednesday in attacks by Islamic State group jihadists in Syria as the military backs rebels seeking to take the town of Al Bab from the extremists, the army said.

The toll, the heaviest single day loss for the Turkish army in its Syria operation that started in August, came in fighting with jihadists that included three suicide car bomb attacks, the army added in a statement quoted by Turkish media.

The IS-held town of Al Bab, 25 kilometers (15 miles) from the Turkish border, has become the main target of the army’s more than three-month campaign inside Syria in support of pro-Ankara Syrian rebels.

The Amaq news agency, affiliated to IS, said a suicide attack was carried out against the Syrian rebels and Turkish troops west of Al Bab, without giving further details.

After the lightning speed of the earlier campaign that saw the border town of Jarabulus taken on the first day of the offensive, the Turkish army has suffered increasing casualties in the fight for Al Bab.

Kurdish PKK Fighters neutralized 3 Turkish soldiers 6 were wounded in clashes eastern Turkey

December 2, 2016 By administrator

3-soldiers-nutralizedThree soldiers were killed and six were wounded in an operation against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the eastern province of Hakkari early on Dec. 2, Doğan News Agency has reported.

One of the killed soldiers, private Servet Tomak, had lost his father and was living with his mother in the Marmara province of Bursa. One of the other soldiers, contracted private Özgür Mutlu, was from the Central Anatolian province of Kırıkkale.

Security sources said the casualties came from a clash in the Çukurca district of Hakkari between Turkish security forces and PKK militants in the Mount Güven area, close to Turkey’s border with Iraq.

The clashes began at 06.40 am in the Güven Dağı Base zone after a PKK militant tried to infiltrate into the facility during heavy snow and foggy weather conditions.

Howitzers positioned in the area started to fire on the militants, and as militants under the offensive started to retreat, Turkish Air Force jets struck the targets, killing seven militants and heavily wounding nine others.

The nine injured were left at the scene after the attack, as security forces obtained the radio talk of fleeing militants who were instructed to leave the wounded by taking their weapons.

Separately, four militants were “neutralized” after Turkey fired artillery rounds into Hakurk, northern Iraq, from the Şemdinli district of Hakkari.

Kurd PKK fighters kill 2 Turkish soldiers More than 600 Turkish security forces have been elemented

November 29, 2016 By administrator

2-more-soldiersAt least two Turkish soldiers have been killed in clashes with Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)  in the east of the country, military sources say.

The army soldiers were attacked and injured while carrying out an operation in the province of Tunceli, the sources said on Monday.

They were transferred to hospital but succumbed to their wounds there, hospital officials said.

Ankara has been engaged in a large-scale anti-PKK campaign in its southeastern border region over the past few months. The Turkish military has also been pounding the group’s positions in northern Iraq as well in breach of the Arab country’s sovereignty.

A shaky ceasefire between Ankara and the PKK that had stood since 2013 was declared null and void by the militants in July 2015 following the Turkish strikes against the group.

Turkey has also toughened its crackdown on the Kurdish population in the country’s southeast after an abortive coup on July 15, claiming it is hunting down militants of PKK.

Ankara has arrested more than 37,000 people as part of the ensuing crackdown, accusing most of the suspects of having ties to Fethullah Gulen, the US-based cleric whom Ankara accuses of masterminding the coup. Tens of thousands have also been dismissed or suspended from their positions in the military and public institutions.

The opposition has fiercely criticized the widening crackdown, with top figures in the Republican People’s Party (CHP) accusing the government of capitalizing on the failed coup to stifle dissent.

Western governments and major rights campaigners have also censured the crackdown, saying Ankara has acted beyond the law in its hunt for coup plotters.

Turkey has criticized the EU for not doing enough to condemn the abortive coup. The EU says Ankara has been acting beyond the rule of law in its post-coup clampdown.

Turkey claims Syrian airstrike killed 3 Turkish soldiers and wounded 10

November 24, 2016 By administrator

3-killed-by-syriaTurkey claims a Syrian airstrike killed three Turkish soldiers and wounded 10 others overnight, raising the ante in its military invasion of the Arab country.

A military statement on Thursday said the attack occurred at around 3:30 am (0030 GMT) in the course of a Turkish operation in northern Syria.

It is the first time Turkey accuses Syrian government forces of killing its soldiers since Ankara launched its incursion, dubbed Euphrates Shield, into the Syrian territory on Aug. 24.

The military did not provide an exact location for the strike. It said one of the wounded soldiers was said to be in critical condition.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency said the airstrike took place near the town of al-Bab, located some 30 kilometers from the Turkish border.

However, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights blamed the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group for the attack.

Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the Britain-based group, dismissed reports that it was an airstrike, saying that the soldiers were killed during the Daesh attack in the rural area of al-Bab, near a village called Waqqah on Wednesday.

There was no comment from Damascus but Amaq, a news outlet affiliated to Daesh, reported an attack against Turkish troops in a village in rural al-Bab on Wednesday.

The leader of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) urged the government to act “with common sense” and not escalate tensions.

“This (issue) could drag Turkey toward a very dangerous process,” Kemal Kilicdaroglu said on Thursday.

Citing national security considerations, Turkish authorities imposed a temporary media ban on the coverage of the attack, barring media outlets from reports that “foster fear, panic and chaos.”

In its invasion of Syria, the Turkish military is supporting militants, including the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA), and Takfiri terrorists who are fighting to topple the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Hundreds of Turkish troops are taking part in the operation, which President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this week was pushing forward with the aim of capturing the Syrian city of al-Bab.

On Thursday, Syrian sources were quoted as saying that Turkey was building a military base in the Syrian town of Akhtarin in the northern Aleppo province.

Damascus has condemned Turkey’s incursion into northern Syria, denouncing it as a “flagrant breach” of its sovereignty.

Periscopes created in Armenia to protect soldiers from snipers

October 16, 2016 By administrator

periscopes-soldiersYEREVAN. – Periscopes have been created in Armenia to protect soldiers from snipers, representative of CJSC Laser Technology Samvel Gyulbudaghyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The devices have already passed the necessary tests.

Given that Armenia is engaged in “a trench confrontation” you need to have a means of protection from enemy snipers.

“Now our border guards may have a direct view instead of hiding in a safer place,” the engineer said.

The device does not waste energy and is similar to other periscopes that are used, for instance, in the submarines.
