Friends of ANCA Western Region Hold Fundraising Reception for Senator Anthony Portantino’s Congressional Campaign, Photos

April 2, 2023 By administrator

(Glendale, California) On March 30, the Friends of ANCA Western Region held a fundraising reception for Senator Anthony Portantino in his bid for Congress to succeed Rep. Adam Schiff in the 30th Congressional District of California. In February, the ANCA Western Region announced its endorsement of Senator Portantino for Congress.

The event took place at Brandview Ballroom in Glendale to support his campaign efforts and to give members of the community the opportunity to meet the Senator and discuss issues of concern within the community. The event was attended by dozens of donors, representatives of Armenian-American community organizations, and ANCA-Western Region Board and staff members. Representing the largest Armenian-American population center in California in the 25th Senate District, the Senator’s constituency ranges from the Tri-Cities to the western outskirts of San Bernardino County. The ANCA-WR recognized the Senator with the “Legislator of the Year Award” twice during its Annual Gala Banquets in 2011 and 2017.

“The ANCA Western Region is proud to endorse Senator Anthony Portantino in his campaign to succeed Congressman Adam Schiff to represent the largest Armenian-American constituency in the country. We are confident that in Washington DC, Senator Portantino will continue to build upon his strong record in Sacramento supporting Armenia, Artsakh, and our community,” said ANCA Western Region Chair, Nora Hovsepian Esq.

Senator Portantino has been a committed ally of the Armenian-American community throughout his long political career. His leadership on Armenian-American issues has expanded and strengthened relations between the State of California, the Republic of Armenia, and the Republic of Artsakh, including his establishment of the Select Committee on California, Armenia and Artsakh Mutual Trade, Art and Cultural Exchange in 2017 and the California-Armenia Trade & Services Desk at Impact Hub Yerevan in 2021.

“I am extremely honored to be the ANCA Western Region endorsed candidate for Congress. Having this tremendous grassroots organization advocating on my behalf is helping to make this a winning campaign. In concert with the endorsement, we held a highly successful fundraiser on the eve of the first quarter deadline. I am grateful for both the organization’s support and the generosity of the community. It was a great night!”

Senator Portantino is a principal co-author of AJR1: the California Assembly Resolution condemning Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of Artsakh which has surpassed 110 days. AJR1 recently passed through the Assembly with a 59-0 vote. With Senator Portantino’s commitment to advancing issues of importance to the Armenian American community, the ANCA Western Region is confident the resolution will pass through the Senate as well.

California’s 30th Congressional District is home to the largest concentration of Armenian-American constituents anywhere in the United States, including the communities of Glendale, Burbank, the Foothills, and Little Armenia.

The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian-American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated organizations around the country, the ANCA-WR advances the concerns of the Armenian-American community on a broad range of issues.

Breaking: Anna Hakobyan Pashinyan Wife lies and deceives scandalous speech replicating Aliyev’s words and Insults the Armenian nation,

April 1, 2023 By administrator

BREAKING: Earlier today, in the village of Acharkut, Tavush region, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia Anna Hakobyan made an appearance to honor the birthday of Davit Shahnazaryan, a young soldier who died during the 44-day war.

During this, Hakobyan began making controversial statements related to the war including 11,000 soldiers who deserted their posts during the war, a number which has only been cited in the past by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev following the war. “Not a single person deserted our Army. According to the latest information, there were not 10,000 but 11,000 deserters in the Armenian army,” said President Ilham Aliyev Hakobyan continued by stating in addition to the 11,000 deserters, the majority of men (500,000 to 1 Million) in Armenia did not volunteer to serve during the war, and that she, a woman, did so in order to show men the need for volunteers.

Armenia: Why is it not possible to defeat the government through elections?

April 1, 2023 By administrator

After each election, when CP candidates win another convincing victory, a heated discussion begins as to how the government or its individual representative, which has partially handed the country over to the enemy, renounced Artsakh, destroyed the army, and brought the country’s security to zero, can get votes? how could someone be an Armenian and vote for Pashinyan?

How can a citizen of Sisian, a citizen of Trsana, or a villager of Teghi vote for the CP, when as a result of the activities of the same CP government, the Turk has reached the threshold of his house and no matter what step he takes, he will enter his house. Many people curse such voters, others curse, call them ghoks or zombies, are disappointed or ashamed of their nationality, how can I be an Armenian, a KP voter and a KP voter?

While it is more than clear that as long as the CP has power in Armenia, CP members will win the elections, it is also clear that changing the government through elections is impossible, even theoretically.
Before the seizure of power, Nikol Pashinyan understood very well that he cannot take power through elections, he even found a formula for it. Pashinyan said that the government of Serzh Sargsyan is especially keeping the Armenian society in poverty so that he can get their votes by distributing 5-10 thousand drams during the elections and maintaining his power. A more or less materially well-off person will not allow himself to sell his vote for money, seeing it as an insult to his self-esteem, while for a poor person, 10,000 drams is a bag of flour, food for a month, which he cannot refuse.

Everything is very true, except that the same logic is working now, Pashinyan himself is forming and reproducing power with that logic. Poverty and extreme poverty in Armenia have not only not decreased, but, on the contrary, have increased, even according to official statistics, the upper limit of poverty is 45.7 percent. The number of extremely poor, i.e. hungry, in the country has doubled to 1.5 percent, i.e. 15 out of every thousand are extremely poor, hungry. To what extent is it moral to demand from a poor, hungry or half-starved person that he has a sense of the motherland or the owner of the country, responsibility towards his country and its future? When a person is not able to feed himself and his children, when a person’s daily concern is to earn a piece of bread, how can he be concerned about his compatriot living in Syunik or Gegharkunik?

Look at the distribution of poverty by marzes and cities and you will see that the highest percentage of poverty is in the villages, and the villagers themselves vote more for the government, and the government has the lowest rating in Yerevan. According to the index of poverty distribution, Yerevan is at the lowest mark. More than half of the rural population is poor or extremely poor, but continues to vote for the government. A poor person does not have the desire, mood or energy to think about the country and the future, it is easy to manipulate and silence him.

Universal suffrage is a relatively new innovation, it started working recently. for men from the beginning of the 20th century, for women from the middle of the 20th century. For example, in Switzerland, which is considered a democracy, women received the right to vote only in 1971, in many European countries only after the end of the Second World War.

Starting from the ancient world, from the Hellenic cities to the republican Rome, the right to vote was reserved only for the strata with a certain material security, according to the property census. When monarchies were abolished in European countries, and republics were established, and the government became elective, the right to vote was again given only to people who were well-off. This was best argued by the second US president, John Adams, who served from 1797-1801. “If you give every poor person the right to vote, won’t this fundamental right encourage corruption?” The moral weakness of human nature is such that very few poor people can form their own judgments. They speak and vote as rich people say, shaping the opinion of the poor based on their own interests.”

As a result, the property censure of the electoral right was abolished, and the universal electoral right was confirmed. There were probably two reasons. the triumph of liberal ideas and sentiments, when it was preached that all people are equal, have equal rights and freedoms, regardless of their material existence, gender, skin color, religion, nationality. On the other hand, the material condition of people in developed countries began to improve significantly, poverty was noticeably reduced, reduced so much that they began to consider that it is not possible to significantly change the outcome of the election by manipulating their opinion. And the governments of third world countries realized that the ability to manipulate the opinion of the poor could allow them to reproduce very easily.

Every government, especially in countries like Armenia, has the support of an administrative resource. ministers, governors, mayors and officials of various ranks, their family members, relatives and close friends do not want a change of government, because it can lead to the loss of positions and influence, and to prevent this, they always vote in favor of the current government. In Armenia, which has an exaggerated bureaucratic apparatus, that number reaches 30-35 percent, add to it the votes of the poor and easily manipulated by the government, and you will see that the current government cannot be defeated by so-called free and fair elections. The only way remains a velvet, non-violent revolution, in which case the bureaucrats and the poor class, the support of the government, true to their nature, do not interfere with the revolution at first,

Nikol Pashinyan turns into Armenian Idi Amin

March 30, 2023 By administrator

In January of this year, Nikol Pashinyan announced that Russia’s military presence in Armenia poses a threat to Armenia’s security.

When Pashinyan says “Armenia”, he means himself and a group of representatives of his government, because the Russian military presence is really a threat to the current government and its representatives. As a result of its ever-increasing anti-Russian rhetoric, the Armenian government has turned into a threat to Russia’s national security, and if Pashinyan wants to free Armenia from the Russian military presence to neutralize this threat to his personal security, by the same logic, Russia can start an operation to get rid of the Armenian government that threatens its national security. One of the justifications for starting a war against Ukraine is that of Vladimir Zelensky. according to the definition of the Russian side, it is the removal of the nationalist and anti-Russian government. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians die not only to protect the integrity of their country but also to become victims of Zelensky’s anti-Russian policy.

After recognizing the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, Gagik Melkonyan, a member of the parliament from the Communist Party of Armenia, announced that the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, should be arrested if he comes to Armenia. We do not stop repeating that there is strict censorship around Pashinyan, and no deputy or minister has the right to express his own opinion. That is why the thoughts expressed by the representatives of the government are never denied because they are dictated by Pashinyan in advance and express his positions on various issues.

Imagine for a moment that the President of Russia has arrived in Armenia, and Pashinyan orders the state institutions under his authority to detain Vladimir Putin. Suppose representatives of the National Security Service or the police arrive at the airport to handcuff the Russian president and hand him over to the International Criminal Court right after he gets off the plane. However, most likely, neither the police nor any representative of the National Security Service will dare to go to the airport and perform this operation, being concerned about personal safety. In that case, Pashinyan will give the same order to General Gagik Melkonyan. Let’s assume that he alone can arrest Vladimir Putin. What can happen after that?

Unlike Armenia, where the Constitution is written in such a way that it is impossible to understand who is the commander-in-chief of the country’s armed forces, because there are different people in different situations, in Russia the president of the country is considered the commander-in-chief of the country, regardless of whether there is a war or peace: The armed forces of Russia are under the command and control of the Commander-in-Chief, including the armed forces in Armenia. If or when the Armenian government, or specifically Nikol Pashinyan, gives an order to Gagik Melkonyan to go and detain Vladimir Putin at the airport, it is assumed that the Russian armed forces in Armenia will also receive an order to protect the country’s commander-in-chief. Is Gagik Melkonyan ready to fight alone against Russia’s armed forces in Armenia? or can he call for help Vigen Khachatryan and other CP deputies who are zealous about Putin’s arrest – it is difficult to say. But there is no doubt that the fight will be quite dramatic and interesting. At this moment, it is difficult to predict which of the parties will win and, ultimately, who will arrest whom, but the European observers in Armenia will record the fact of Russia’s armed aggression against Armenia and initiate the 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions. If Gagik Melkonyan wins that historical battle, it is natural that he will arrest the President of the Russian Federation, and the Russian troops will flee from Armenia. Defeat is excluded, because whatever happens, Pashinyan will announce: let’s agree that we do not recognize ourselves as defeated. And if a little more seriously, it is obvious that Pashinyan and his government, with their absurd and frivolous policy, are turning Armenia into a mockery, into a country that cannot be taken seriously and it is impossible to talk about any topic seriously with it. Maybe that is the goal. Pashinyan is consistently likened to former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, who held a press conference in 1975 and declared war on the United States, and the next day declared his victory, because the United States was so cowardly and small-minded that it ignored the declared war and did not react in any way. By the way, Amin was also an uneducated populist who personally beheaded 2,000 citizens of the country, some of whom he ate. Perhaps the events in Armenia can develop in the same scenario.

Glendale, ANCA-WR Honors Educators at Sold-Out Armenian Genocide Education Awards Luncheon watch Live Video coverage & Interviews

March 29, 2023 By administrator

Live Video Coverage by Gagrule.net (Wally Sarkeesian)

(Glendale, California) On March 25, 2023, a sold-out crowd of nearly 250 honored guests, dignitaries, and community members gathered for the 6th Annual Armenian National Committee of America Western Region (ANCA Western Region) Education Committee’s Armenian Genocide Education Awards Luncheon at Legacy Ballroom in Glendale, California. Since 2016, the Luncheon has honored dozens of local and national educators who have gone above and beyond in teaching about the Armenian Genocide within their school’s arts, language, social studies, and theater curriculum.

“The work of the ANCA Western Region’s Education Committee is a stellar example of the vital grassroots mission we prioritize every day,” stated ANCA-Western Region Board Chair Nora Hovsepian, Esq. “Our Education Committee members, all educators themselves, fully understand the important role that teachers play in shaping the minds of young generations, teaching them about truth and justice, and learning the lessons of history to avoid tragic outcomes in the future. The Genocide Education Awards Luncheon serves to recognize and highlight teachers who set an example for their peers by finding innovative ways to impart age-appropriate lessons about the Armenian Genocide to their students. As the congressional resolutions in 2019 officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide specifically highlighted, encouraging education and public understanding about this pivotal chapter of history is relevant to preventing modern-day crimes against humanity.”

This year, the event kicked off with the performance of the United States and Armenian national anthems by Granada Hills Charter School student, Tatevik Apoyan.

ANCA Western Region Education Committee Luncheon Chair, Taline Arsenian, introduced Araksya Karapetyan, Emmy-award winning FOX 11 news anchor, a beloved and influential voice for our community who graciously served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event and kicked off the afternoon with a heartfelt welcome address. “By teaching students the importance of recognizing the consequences of hate, dehumanization, and violence, educators make a difference in the lives of children with the hope that they become warriors of justice to lead enduring change,” said Karapetyan. The welcome address was followed by a recognition of past years’ honorees by ANCA Western Region Education Committee Member Medea Kalognomos.

The event welcomed dignitaries and officials serving Southern California, including Burbank City Mayor Konstantine Anthony, Glendale City Mayor Ardashes Kassakhian, Glendale City Councilmember Dan Brotman, Glendale City Clerk Dr. Suzie Abajian,  Los Angeles City Councilmember for the 13th district Hugo Soto-Martinez, Pasadena City Vice-Mayor Felicia Williams, Burbank Unified School District Board Member Dr. Armond Aghakhanian, Glendale Community College District Board President Dr. Sevan Benlian, Glendale Community College Board Clerk Desiree Portillo-Rabinov, Glendale Community College District Board Members Dr. Armine Hacopian and Yvette Vartanian-Davis,  Glendale Community College Superintendent/President Dr. Ryan Cornner, Los Angeles Community College Chancellor Dr. Francisco C. Rodriguez, Glendale Unified School District Board Member Jennifer Freemon, Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education Vice President Scott Schmerelson, Burbank Teachers Association President Diana Abasta, Glendale Teachers Association Vice-President Emily Rogers, and representatives of the offices of California State Senator Anthony Portantino, Los Angeles County Supervisors Kathryn Barger and Hilda Solis and Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Rocio Rivas. Officials from California State University, Northridge, were also in attendance, including Dean of the College of Humanities Dr. Jeffrey Reeder,  Chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literature Dr. Adrian Perez-Boluda, Director of Development of the College of Humanities Suren Seropian, Assistant Director of Government and Community Relations Victoria Dochoghlian, and Director of Armenian Studies Dr. Vahram Shemmassian. Prominent professors of higher education in the audience also included Dr. Rubina Peroomian, Dr. Levon Marashlian and Dr. Hasmig Baran.

In addition, certificates of recognition were issued to each honoree by the offices of State Senator Anthony Portantino, State Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, President of the City Council of Los Angeles Paul Krekorian, Glendale City Mayor Ardashes Kassakhian, and Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education Vice President Scott Shmerelson

ANCA-Western Region Board Member Anahid Oshagan, Esq., who serves as Board Liaison to the Education Committee, delivered the organizational message for the event, highlighting the importance of understanding that the century-long failure to hold Turkey accountable as perpetrator of the Armenian Genocide has directly led to the continuation of genocidal intent by both Turkey and Azerbaijan against the Armenian People more than a century later. The modern-day aggression by Turkey and Azerbaijan against Armenia and Artsakh and the ongoing inhumane Azeri blockade since December 12, 2022 of the Lachin Corridor whereby 120,000 innocent Armenian civilians in Artsakh have been cut off from the rest of the world, are present manifestations of their intent to annihilate the Armenian Nation and remove Armenians from their ancestral homeland with impunity. “The genocide and attempted annihilation continues, we must and we will soldier on by continuing to educate the world and recognize the outstanding educators who go above their call of duty to ensure the dark chapter of this history is taught and not forgotten, to ensure that justice prevails,” said Oshagan.

To highlight an opportunity for educators to participate in hands-on training for Armenian Genocide education, a video clip was shown from the Armenian Genocide Project’s GenEd Fellowship Program: a two phase program in partnership with the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan which allows secondary school social studies and English teachers to visit Armenia for workshops and cultural field trips to then develop curriculum and teach and share with other educators what they have learned about the Armenian Genocide and its repercussions. Mr. Manuel Lopez, one of the honorees for the Armenian Genocide Education award was a Teacher Fellow who now teaches about the Armenian Genocide to his students at Alisal High School in Salinas, California, described his experience: “Those ten days in Armenia completely transformed who I am as an educator. Knowing I was in the classroom for 20 years and never doing as much as I could have done to bring this important episode to light embarasses me. I have already seen dividends at my school and community since I have trained several teachers about what I have learned in Armenia,” said Mr. Lopez.

ANCA Western Regional Education Committee Member Lucy Martirosyan introduced sponsors of the event and thanked them for their contributions, after which Education Committee Members Katia Karageuzian and Arpi Krikorian introduced significant Armenian figures who were arrested, displaced, or murdered by perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide and whose images are featured on the honorees’ certificates as a tribute to their legacy.

Araksya Karapetyan presented the Armenian Genocide Education Award, awarded to educators teaching in K through 12, who have gone above and beyond to educate their students about the Armenian Genocide. The Armenian Genocide Education Awards were presented to four educators who spoke about their Armenian Genocide teachings in their acceptance speeches. Violet De Luna of Toll Middle School (GUSD) accepted her award by saying, “Having these conversations (in classrooms) about genocide helps the students to have a strength in their voices as they express their views on the crimes of genocide, human rights, and social justice.” Celeste Lau of Valley View Elementary School (GUSD) shared her investment into future generations, “Our students are the future, and we must make every effort to create peace and connection among them. And this is what I teach.” Ana Quintanilla of Mountain View Elementary (LAUSD) talked about her teaching goals saying, “I am so honored to work with such an amazing community, and my goal is going to continue to be to empower my Armenian students and the rest of my students.” Manuel Lopez of Alisal High School (Salinas Union High School District) said, “In the time that I still have as an educator, I will do my very best to work with my colleagues, community, and other people who want to learn about the Armenian Genocide.”

Following the first round of awardees, Karapetyan presented the Zaruhy “Sara” Chitjian Armenian Heritage Award, named after educator Sara Chitjian, who dedicated her life to public school education and spent nearly 40 years teaching for the LAUSD and creating curriculum officially formalizing courses in Armenian history and culture. The Zaruhy “Sara” Chitjian Armenian Heritage Awards were presented to three deserving honorees: Anita Kazaryan of Burbank High School (BUSD), accepted the award saying, “I believe that it’s important to educate future generations about the dangers of hatred and discrimination and the importance of standing up against it so that future atrocities never happen again.” Talar Keoseyan of Sunland Elementary School (LAUSD) shared her responsibility as a teacher saying, “In today’s world of intolerance, an educator must teach compassion and empathy.  We have an obligation and a duty to ensure the Armenian Genocide and atrocities like that never happen again.” Taline Satamian of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School (GUSD) expressed her gratitude for the award and said powerfully, “As an educator, my approach to a violence-free world is celebrating diversity, giving voices to silenced communities, instilling respect and tolerance for difference, and encouraging critical thinking. This kind of education can undercut hatred and racism, which are the drivers for mass violence.”

The Ambassador Henry Morgenthau Sr. Courage Award, presented to individuals who embody strength, courage and determination, was presented by Araksya Karapetyan to her friend and FOX 11 colleague, Christina Pascucci. In September 2022, Pascucci reported on the devastating consequences of war in towns where Armenian men, women, and children had their homes destroyed by shelling from Azerbaijani forces, and delivered those untold stories of devastation to American audiences, providing an educational connection for current day genocidal events. “Courage is what led me to reporting on the blockade that is happening in the Republic of Artsakh that has now passed 100 days, but it wasn’t my courage, it was the courage of the Armenian people … and it was the courage of Dr. Grigorian, my high school Spanish, teacher who was so brave to talk about the Armenian Genocide.”

Presenting the Richard G. Hovannissian Armenian Genocide Higher Education Award to Dr. Khatchig Mouradian was ANCA-WR Education Committee Secretary Laura Gaboudian. While Dr. Hovannisian, a renowned scholar and premier historian on the Armenian Genocide, was unable to attend the event in person, he sent a heartfelt message which was read to the audience in which he congratulated the organizers and honorees and stressed the importance of Armenian Genocide education. “I am gratified that there are those who refused to lose their purposeful spirit and commitment and have had the willpower to reorganize and go forward. The recognition of educators who have continued to enlighten and advocate during these trying times is most commendable,” wrote Hovannissian. In accepting this prestigious award, Dr. Khatchig Mouradian shared a realization he had while writing his book, The Resistance Network, “As I learned more about that region, as I learned more about the way Armenians organized in that region, those survivors who were in terrible conditions when they were arriving in Syria, the way way they formed this underground resistance network, trying to save as many lives as possible, it essentially transformed this book which I was imagining to be extremely dark into a book that was dark, but also highlighted and emphasized the agency of Armenians, their ability to fight back and push back.” Mouradian emphasized the need to keep pushing and being hopeful saying, “More than a hundred years after the Armenian Genocide, today with the war on Armenia and Artsakh, and its aftermath, and the horrors that are being committed on a daily basis, it is important to think about one critical element … we do not see a path forward but in times like this, I want more than anything else to share that as a historian … knowing so well what the Armenian people went through and pushed against with their resilience and resistance, the best thing we can do to ourselves, our community, and our nation, is to think that if they could do it back then, we can do it today.”

The Armenian Genocide Education Legacy Award was presented by ANCA Western Region Education Committee Vice-Chair Sedda Antekelian to Dr. Stephan Astourian, a prominent historian and educator who recently retired after more than two decades as founder and director of the Armenian Studies Program and Associate Adjunct Professor of History at the University of California, Berkeley. The Award is presented to educators who have dedicated a lifetime of efforts aimed toward educating and providing resources for their students and other educators about the Armenian Genocide and its lasting legacy for humanity. Dr. Astourian highlighted the everlasting effects, or rather unending quality of the Armenian Genocide saying, “All things have a beginning, but do all things have an end? For instance, the Armenian Genocide. I leave you with this question during a time when genocide denial is still flourishing in Turkey and genocidal rhetoric is proliferating in Azerbaijan: a country where criminals and war crimes are extolled, and kids are brainwashed in schools hating Armenians.”

At the conclusion of the luncheon, ANCA Western Region Education Committee Chair Alice Petrossian gave closing remarks, thanking Araksya Karapetyan for her continued support of the Education Committee and the Armenian Cause and encouraging the honorees to continue their efforts to educate about the Armenian Genocide, highlighting that as the Armenian Nation is once again facing an existential threat in Armenia and Artsakh as Azerbaijan’s aggression and war rhetoric continue, each of us has a role to play to amplify our message and educate others about our plight in order to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Announcing the ANCA Western Region Education Committee’s next great endeavor, Committee Member Zarik Hacopian stated, “Now we are moving forward to lead a most critical program in partnership with Rooted and Rerouted to document the Baku Pogroms in a formal manner. It is critical to further have evidence that the Genocide has never stopped and continues today.  We are passionate about this project and today your support means we can grow this project and help provide our students with first person accounts of the Baku Tragedies. While evil dictators revise history, we will document and preserve history.”

The Armenian National Committee of America- Western Region (ANCA-WR) is a grassroots public affairs organization devoted to advancing issues of concern to the Armenian American community. For nearly a century, the ANCA-WR has served to educate, motivate and activate the Armenian American community in the Western United States on a wide range of issues.—

Armenia people listen to Learn: Israel’s protests succeeded by uniting some of the country’s most influential institutions.

March 28, 2023 By administrator

By German Lopez

Much of life in Israel came to a halt yesterday: Hospitals stopped providing nonemergency care, planes were grounded at the country’s main airport, and malls and banks closed. The disruptions were part of an escalation in protests against the government’s proposed judicial overhaul, which has plunged Israel into one of its gravest political crises ever.

The interruptions to daily life were the latest sign that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had underestimated Israelis’ opposition to his government’s proposed changes to the courts. In response to the chaos, he has relented, at least in part. Netanyahu announced yesterday that he would delay the changes until later this year. “When there is a possibility of preventing a civil war through dialogue, I, as the prime minister, take a timeout for dialogue,” he said.

The announcement calmed some of the protesters and unions have called off their strikes. But it remains unclear what will happen in the coming weeks — and whether Netanyahu will continue pushing a proposal that has started to fracture even his own cabinet. Israel has dealt with deep political divisions for some time — holding five elections in four years — and the fight over the judicial overhaul has shown that those divisions persist.

Over the last two days, the opposition used all of its power to threaten to shut down the economy unless its views were taken into account, while the other side threatened to use its majority in Parliament to push through their political agenda, Patrick Kingsley, The Times’s Jerusalem bureau chief, explained.

“It was a very high-stakes game of chicken,” Patrick says.

Pashinyan Party CP distributes election bribes. YOUR pre-election headquarters

March 27, 2023 By administrator

Your pre-election headquarters warns about election bribes distributed to voters on behalf of the “Civil Agreement” party.

We present the urgent statement of your pre-election headquarters below. “In the areas adjacent to the polling stations, there are some lists of people representing the Communist Party, who are working in municipal and state institutions, and who are working for a long time with an unclear function, which possibly contains the data of citizens who received election bribes. As a matter of fact, the constituency commissions have stopped examining the applications and complaints of our proxies about the request to find out the identity of the mentioned persons, to stop the actions aimed at directing the voters. Election bribery is the latest ugly electoral violation that identifies the “Civil Contract” party with the political forces that against which many honest supporters of that party fought years ago. The function of stopping such practices is the responsibility of state bodies and, first of all, of the leaders of the CPC. The pre-election headquarters of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea announces that it is suspending the implementation of any operation in the direction of verifying the information in the mentioned cases and identifying the persons who committed an act with the features of a crime.

There will be November 9th like capitulation. Nikol Pashinyan called it a “peace treaty”

March 24, 2023 By administrator

There will be capitulation… That’s how I perceived Nikol Pashinyan’s message to the “respectable participants, dear people, and the international community” of the RA government session. He clearly said that there will be a peace agreement and it will be based on the written documents obtained at the highest levels. I think many people understand what the word “peace treaty” means for the country in this disgraceful situation. It’s the same capitulation, but already documented. The first phase of the capitulation took place the day after the surrender of Shushi. About three years after that, and I think until 2023. no “peace treaty” threatens us on November 9, we may enter the second, already documented stage of capitulation. That is, it is possible to sign a paper, which will be called “peace treaty”, but it will become the capitulation certificate of our Republic of Armenia. If you want, call it a certificate, a workbook of the current government of RA, a certificate of registration of the Zags with Azerbaijan… Call it whatever you want, but it will be a capitulation paper, and according to Pashinyan’s formulation, a written document obtained at the highest levels.

And now let’s turn to the practical side of Pashinyan’s statement. Of course, it is a bit difficult to imagine Pashinyan in action, but let’s try anyway. Ahavasik, he stomps into a big room where Aliyev and Putin are already waiting for him. He gives a light greeting, they offer him a chair, he sits down. Aliyev and Putin also sit after him… Well, you can imagine the degree of pride of the beloved Zhogjan… A long-legged “blonde” puts the blue folder in front of Nikol and points with a marker to the place where the Prime Minister will sign… Well, now it’s order, or our Prime Minister, What, he doesn’t know where to sign… Then they put the file in front of Aliyev. Aliyev gets scared and takes the pen… Pause… The directors catch Nikol’s famous look at that moment… He eats Aliyev with his eyes… Putin whispers in his ear to sign because Nikol is not mad. Finally signing. Pashinyan’s “zibar” is opening. It’s Putin’s turn… He smiles, then raises his eyebrows as if he’s doing something serious, but quickly signs the paper and gives it to the “blonde”: take it, dear girl, you’ll take it, you’ll put it in the drawer I showed you.

  • Which shelf, Mr. President, you showed me so many shelves?
  • Speak quietly, achchi, they will listen… In the shelf of hunting stories. Got it?

The next day, American newspapers will write that Putin killed two birds with one stone…
This concludes the practical aspect of Pashinyan’s statement about the signing of the “peace agreement”, but we understand that we still have to reach that day. And will we get there? Knowing Nikol Pashinyan, it is difficult to claim that any statement made by him will reach its logical destination or, in general, be implemented. Until now, what he said has been the opposite or has been forgotten. He said: I will not give, he gave, he said: we will win, we lost, he said: we will develop, we regressed, he said: we will be educated, we have become uneducated, he said: there will be investments, the investors ran away, he said the population will increase, the opposite has happened, he promised immigration, immigration kills. Come on and believe Nikoli that “a peace treaty will be signed”. I don’t know who, but I refuse to believe it. I’m almost sure

It even seems to me that Pashinyan doesn’t believe his statement either. Then listen to him. He says like the hero of a famous movie: I will go and water the flowers, and you… He gives us a task. “The RA government and the public should engage in daily creative work, building, reforming, creating good, strengthening the security system. We must not deviate for a single minute from the path of development, strengthening of Armenia and strengthening of our democracy.” In Armenian, this means: you continue to play your game and not notice how I sign your final capitulation. They said you are welcome here. It’s enough, how much you blew and occupied the people with nonsense. Both your peace and the peace treaty will be attached to your head. Resign, go…

Why have corruption revelations intensified in Armenia? what did US State Department say about Armenian Corruption?

March 23, 2023 By administrator

Recently, corruption revelations have become quite active in Armenia. Moreover, if, for example, the political force that came to power in the period following the political changes of 2018, figuratively speaking, made “mask shows” about the former elites – representatives of the political, economic or military bloc, now the findings refer to the representatives of the current government.

It has been in the press for quite some time that the fate of Arsen Torosyan, one of the prominent representatives of the ruling team, hangs in the balance. All this is quite an interesting phenomenon. Putting aside any personal-conviction attitude towards the current authorities, let’s fix a few things.

First of all, these findings may be aimed at sobering up the ruling team. In other words, it is not excluded that due to some considerations, Nikol Pashinyan decided to conduct a purge within his team or “pass through the fires of purgatory”. It is difficult to say why. Maybe he wants to increase the dose of public trust for himself and the team. Maybe the team sees the need to update. Maybe there are also those non-governmental “kitchen scraps” that the general public is not aware of. Be that as it may, we can say that in this regard, Pashinyan is trying to serve the internal public demand of Armenia. After all, it has been discussed, said and written many times that no serious corruption case has actually reached its end so far.

On the other hand, one should not rule out the influence of an external factor, so to speak, lighting a “green light” for this new chain of corruption revelations by Pashinyan. Let’s not forget that a few days ago, the United States State Department published its report on human rights, where, among other issues, it was also recorded regarding Armenia that “Armenia has a legacy of systemic corruption in many areas, including construction, mining, public administration, parliament, judiciary. the system, procurement, and provision of state support.

Accusations were also made about the embezzlement of state funds with the involvement of state officials and dubious business activities.” This is, in fact, a serious blow to Pashinyan’s power and the current government team in Armenia, in general, because it is actually announced by the US State Department that democracy in Armenia has regressed, and the thesis that Armenia’s brand is a democracy, to put it mildly, only works in Armenia. This is how reality is perceived in the minds of representatives of the authorities. By the way, in this regard, it is very remarkable that although Nikol Pashinyan announced in his last press conference that there is no systemic corruption in Armenia, a few days later the report of the US State Department announced almost the opposite of what was said.
