Disney’s Controversial Ataturk Movie Angered Both Armenians and Turks

August 7, 2023 By administrator

By Harut Sassounian,

It takes an especially incompetent Walt Disney Company executive to come up with a movie project that enraged both Armenians and Turks alike. That employee should be fired for damaging the coffers as well as the reputation of the company.

The Disney+ streaming service had planned to make a six-part series that dramatizes the life of Kemal Ataturk who is the Founding Father of the Republic of Turkey, worshipped by almost all Turks. Insulting Ataturk is punishable by up to three years in prison. The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) started a campaign in June to protest against Disney’s movie project.

The ANCA called on Disney+ “to cancel its series glorifying Mustafa Kemal Ataturk — a Turkish dictator and genocidal killer with the blood of millions of Greek, Armenian, Assyrian, Chaldean, Syriac, Aramean, Maronite and other Christian martyrs on his hands.”

Ironically, despite his own share of crimes and anti-Armenian actions, Ataturk was honest enough to admit during an interview with the Los Angeles Examiner on August 1, 1926: “These leftovers of the former Young Turk Party, who should have been made to account for the lives of millions of our Christian subjects, who were ruthlessly driven en masse from their homes and massacred, have been restive under the Republican rule. They have hitherto lived on plunder, robbery and bribery, and become inimical to any idea or suggestion to enlist in useful labor and earn their living by the honest sweat of their brow.” Regrettably, on several other occasions, Ataturk contradicted himself justifying the Armenian Genocide.

The news of Armenian objection to the Disney movie, the company’s subsequent change of plans, and the irate Turkish reaction became the topic of countless articles around the world, publicizing the issue of the Armenian Genocide. The Turkish media blamed the ANCA, ‘the powerful Armenian lobby’ in the United States, for successfully pressuring the Disney Company.

Disney had originally announced that the series glorifying Ataturk will be shown on the Disney+ network starting on October 29, 2023, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. Changing its plans, Disney+ now plans to release the movie in two parts: The first part will air on the Disney-owned Fox TV in Turkey on October 29 and the second in Turkish theaters on December 22. Both films will be shown again next summer. It cost Disney $8 million to produce ‘Ataturk.’

Ebubekir Shahin, chairman of Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK), said that it will launch an official investigation into Disney’s decision. Huseyin Yayman, chairman of the Turkish parliament’s Digital Media Commission, threatened severe sanctions against Disney: “We will impose harsh fines, including license cancellation for Disney+, bandwidth reduction, and advertising bans.” Prominent Turkish figures, including politicians, artists and journalists, angrily denounced Disney and cancelled their subscriptions to Disney+, which has 50,000 subscribers in Turkey. Omer Celik, spokesman of Turkey’s ruling AK Party, called Disney’s change of plans ‘shameful’ and alleged the company had caved in to ‘the Armenian lobby.’ He also stated that ANCA’s intent was to prevent the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations. Serdar Kilic, the Turkish ambassador in charge of his country’s normalization process with Armenia, also cancelled his subscription to Disney+. The Turkish government’s news agency, Anadolu Agency, published a commentary by Burak Caliskan of York University titled: “Did the Armenian lobby take over Disney+?”

Turkey even pressured its Armenian community to oppose Disney’s decision. Bedros Shirinoglu, Chairman of Armenian Foundations Association of Turkey, a hostage of the Turkish regime, issued a shameful statement touting the non-existent freedom of expression in Turkey and calling on “American-Armenian organizations to act more responsibly.” Likewise, Parliament member Sevan Sıvacıoglu, representing Pres. Erdogan’s political party, expressed concern that Disney’s decision hampers the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations and undermines the potential for fostering friendly ties between the two countries.

According to the Middle East Eye, “In June, Disney removed numerous shows and movies from Disney+ to reduce ongoing residuals and its tax bill. This strategy also resulted in the removal of eight Turkish TV shows and movies produced exclusively for Disney’s Turkish streaming platform, with the suspension of new Turkish content launches.” Disney+ (Turkey) confirmed that it had made such a decision.

This whole controversy could have been avoided if Disney had done a little bit of research before embarking on such an unwise adventure. Disney has no business preparing a documentary on Ataturk or any other political figure. Disney blindly undertook this project, angering many Armenians around the world. And then, realizing its mistake, Disney washed its hands and cleverly dumped the documentary on Fox-TV in Turkey.

Nevertheless, the battle is partly won. Even though the giant Disney Company changed its plans, Armenians worldwide now need to pursue this issue with the top executives Disney for three reasons:

1) To completely cancel the Ataturk documentary and not hand it over to Fox-TV in Turkey;

2) To make sure that the Disney Company will never again consider making a Turkish propaganda film;

3) Urge Disney to make a documentary on an Armenian topic, such as the Armenian Genocide and Republics of Armenia and Artsakh.

Regrettably, once again, the Armenian-American community is left alone in battling the all-powerful Turkish government, without any assistance from the leaders of Armenia who are acting as if Armenian issues are of no interest to them.

1000 Days Since War Criminal Pashinyan Capitulated

August 6, 2023 By administrator

It is now 1000 days since the tripartite statement was signed on November 9, 2020, yet Azerbaijan continues to hold around 35 confirmed Armenian prisons of war (POWs) captive in Baku.

The ECHR Human rights defenders dealing with issues of Armenian POWs presented irrefutable evidence suggesting that there are undeclared POWs, putting their actual estimates at 80. Among the confirmed 35 POWs, 2 more Armenian servicemen were recently kidnapped from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on May 16, 2023. Additionally, just last week Azerbaijan kidnapped 2 more civilians, Vagif Khachatryan from the International Red Cross vehicle on July 29, and Rashid Beglaryan near the Aghavno village on August 1.

Most of the POWs currently held captive in Baku are facing trumped-up criminal cases in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has and continues to violate several serious international laws, namely ”Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War”. According to Article 13 of the Convention: ”Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated.

Any unlawful act or omission by the Detaining Power causing death or seriously endangering the health of a prisoner of war in its custody is prohibited and will be regarded as a serious breach of the present Convention. In particular, no prisoner of war may be subjected to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are not justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the prisoner concerned and carried out in his interest.” By not returning the POWs, Azerbaijan is violating the tripartite statement signed on November 9, 2020, which requires the immediate return of POWs and detained individuals.

Nikol Pashinyan and Obvious Corruption the crooks and the corrupt fundraising.

August 4, 2023 By administrator

Edik Andreasyan

CP gathered for another fundraiser at the Dwin Hotel. Nicole hadn’t arrived yet, but she was the talk of the town, see how much she would give. A perfectly pig-like KP was walking around with a glass of champagne among various groups and reminding the stressed political elite of the last declaration submitted by Nikol to the anti-corruption body, in which the prime minister stated that he barely makes ends meet, he has almost no money, and he is not born with immovable or movable property. had Davoyan raised a glass to Arpi?

  • I suggest not taking money from the honorable Prime Minister…
  • He will be upset, angry, – Lulu protested.

Everyone was waiting for what the person closest to Nikol Pashinyan’s family and finances, Araik Harutyunyan, would say.

  • Nikol Pashinyan, one can say, is the father of Armenian democracy, and this fundraising, if you want to know, Armenian democracy, which is the same, is to expose the father of Armenian democracy. Therefore, the father of Armenian democracy does not even have a reason to grant himself a grant, said Araik Harutyunyan and walked to the exit to meet the arriving Prime Minister.
Hovik Aghazaryan applauded his short speech, and when he saw that no one was applauding, he got a little sad and reprimanded the gathered.
  • Is it appropriate to trade in saving the honorable father of Armenian democracy? We have no right to it.

Before reaching the exit, Araik Harutyunyan sped up his steps to meet Nikol outside and solemnly enter the hall with him. A lot of people were crowded near the exit: past and present oligarchs, specially invited paying Diaspora Armenians, authorities of the criminal world, small and medium-sized budtchis, heads of medical centers, rectors of universities, red berets in civilian clothes and another group of hard workers who, having different professions, kept under the auspices of CP. Seeing Araik Harutyunyan, they retreated so that the exit would be opened and unnecessary tension would not arise when the Prime Minister entered…
I said exit, I remembered. This wasn’t Nicole’s first fundraiser. It can be said that fund-raising has been on their agenda since the foundation of CP. They collected money to eat a piece of bread together, they collected money to go on an excursion. What should I hide? They took something from this and that, and allocated it to the prosperity of the CP. The first serious fund-raising took place as part of the “Exit” alliance in 2017. in March, to participate in the parliamentary elections, during which 15 million drams were collected – as they say, money from thin air. The other of “Yelk”, again in 2017. 5 million 127 thousand drams were collected at the fundraising in April. Last: 2019 on November 25, when there was no “Yelk” and the CP was already in power, a record amount of 236 million drams was generated. If there were serious people sitting in the anti-corruption body, this dynamics of money flow to CP would worry them. Who gave that money? State officials – it’s bad, oligarchs – even worse, Nikol’s childhood friends – something like this just couldn’t happen, Diaspora Armenians – when did they become Nikolas worshipers and that’s it. so generous. And the most interesting thing was, of course, the fundraising organized for the ostensibly referendum on constitutional reforms. The referendum did not take place, and the collected 200 million drams were never returned to the donors.

Well, let’s leave this sad arithmetic and move to the hall of the Dwin Hotel, where the elite political elite were waiting for Nicole to do another fundraiser. Bottle Catcher and Brothers LLC was gathered a little further away. They brought with them a white banner with the words “Whatever we do, all for you”. They probably thought that the money bags dependent on the government would be read and the wallets would be opened wider in front of the CP. The KP-dog in the form of a pig continued to walk around the hall, displaying the inscription on his T-shirt. “I will sell my last pants for KP.” Arpi and Lulu smiled, we gave them to CP during the days of the revolution… Alen Simonyan, who arrived with the lady, intended to make the lenders understand that the amount of the previous donation should be at least doubled.

  • Nicole, – there was a whisper in the hall.

Here he is, with his own persona. Lnglngale reached the center of the hall and greeted everyone together.

  • Hello, dear people…

At one point, the association took everyone to Syunik. Those who had to give money greeted.

  • Hello…

CP-dogs are funnier.

  • Hello, honorable Mr. Prime Minister.
Nikol went, sat down in the place reserved for him, drew the list of guests to his face and started reading.
  • Salads, hot dishes, sweets…

Araik Harutyunyan, standing next to him, turned pale.

  • Oh, sorry, Mr. Prime Minister, it’s a menu, here’s the list.

At the top were the names of major donors. He read and immediately became gloomy.

  • What is this, so Grzo, who has no position, gives 100 thousand dollars, and Arsenyan Gugo 10 thousand?

“But Gurgen Arsenyan doesn’t have a position either, Mr. Prime Minister, he’s a former MP,” Arayik reminded that for some reason he threw a waiter’s towel in his hand.

  • Go tell him that he will be appointed ambassador to Russia soon. Let it add a zero. Exactly 100 thousand. Was it?
  • I hear, Mr. Prime Minister.

Having discussed in this way, they reached the business section of “Shishd Vablem” LLC.

  • It’s not bad, it’s not bad, – Nikol expressed satisfaction under his breath, looking at the white poster, – they are also politically literate.
    Another one exploded.
  • Edmon Marukyan’s name is missing?
    Araik changed.
  • Mr. Honorable Prime Minister – I have consulted with him on that issue. We decided not to write his name, so that the dust of the opposition does not finally fall from the shoulders. There is also the problem of Mane Tandilyan, people will say that he gives money to the CP to carry Mane.
  • Listen, Arayik, I decide what the people will say. And as for Mane, Mane is our cousin, right? Oh, by the way, I didn’t even see Samvel Aleksanyan’s name, didn’t you invite him?
  • We invited him, but he is in Dubai and cannot come.
  • Will he transfer money?
  • I cannot say, Mr. Prime Minister. He wrote a letter that if possible, he would participate in this fund-raising with sugar, oil, vodka. At the end, he added: Nikol is my brother.
  • Okay, start. Announce that the fundraiser has started.

The entire elite lined up in two rows on the road leading to Nicole. The guests had to pass through their line and, dancing with money envelopes, approach Nicole. The name of the donor, the amount of money to be donated were written on the envelopes, and on some of them also the name of the CP-dog whose “cats”, so to speak, gave the money. Past and present oligarchs, specially invited paying Diaspora Armenians, authorities of the criminal world, small and medium-sized budtchis, heads of medical centers, rectors of universities, red berets in civilian clothes and a group of other scumbags, came in a row to the treasure box to leave the money there and the pleasure of receiving Nikol’s gaze. The presenter announced the name of each donor and the amount of money, so-and-so, so-and-so. that’s it… Nicole’s eyes rolled in their sockets at the sight of bills falling on the table. The sour expression on the face did not change: they gave little, compared to what they received from the government, they gave little, very little.

Everyone was hungry. It was an occasion to eat with a full stomach, especially since Nikol had to close the account that day. The tables were creaking from the weight. The toasts began. Elite moneylenders were gradually recovering from the fundraising shock. Nevertheless, everyone was waiting for Araik Harutyunyan to announce the amount of money collected. It was Andranik Kocharyan’s turn to say toast, who was already well drunk.

  • Honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Pashinyan, I also drink your toast with this glass, and allow me to ask: how much of your modest funds did you allocate for this event…
  • Mr. Kocharyan, this is not an investigative commission for you that you are asking me questions. I can’t announce live the money I donated, or rather Anna’s donation, which she recently received from outside ringleaders. Was it?
An uncomfortable silence prevailed, which was broken by Araik Harutyunyan.
  • Dear participants of the fundraiser, the counting committee has just reported that it was collected… that it was collected… that it was collected.
    Nicole interrupted him.
  • Araik, let the head of our headquarters for the Yerevan elections announce, Armen Pambukhchyan.
  • What, Mr. Prime Minister?
  • That’s right, boy, this money is for Yerevan elections.
  • We haven’t given the money for our elevator, building repair… yet.
  • Sit down, I say, let Armen Pambukhchyan announce.

Armen Pambukhchyan threw a disdainful look at Arayik, took the paper from his hand and read. “As a result of the donations of 987 donors, 506,532,950 AMD were collected.” And then, as if on purpose, he added: Armen Pambukhchyan, head of pre-election headquarters of the “Civil Contract” party.

Applause… $1.3 million! The next day, all the newspapers wrote about this, all the TV and radio channels put this news in their top tens, the diaspora, naturally, learned about it, and so did Artsakh. Artsakh also found out, yes. At the meeting of CP, in fact, about a thousand people were found who gave money to the RA government that destroyed Artsakh. In short, everyone found out about this, except the so-called anti-corruption body. If an opposition party did a fundraiser, they would sit on the tail, be interested in donors, if they were from the diaspora, they would ban their entry into Armenia, they would prevent this “corruption” in every possible way, and when corruption is so obvious in the ruling CP, the eyes and ears of the anti-corruption body are closed. What will the KP do with that money, the origin of which even raises doubts? Nobody cares about that question.

Artsakh: Surviving the Siege: The Life of the Artsakh’s Villages Under the Target of Azerbaijan

August 3, 2023 By administrator

By Siranush Sargsyan,

Since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has been illegally blockading Artsakh, an area historically populated by Armenians but claimed by Azerbaijan. For the last eight months, the ongoing blockade has severely impeded the supply of vital goods, leaving Artsakh’s population of 120,000, including 30,000 children, isolated and vulnerable to various existential and security threats.

The humanitarian catastrophe in Artsakh deteriorates day by day. The entire population is on the brink of starvation, deprived of access to food, essential goods, and fuel, as humanitarian aid has been completely blockaded by Azerbaijan since June 15 in an attempt to eliminate the Armenian population and take over the region.

The consequences of the blockade have been further exacerbated for rural villagers. They now face severe shortages of essentials like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuel, spare parts, and other necessities. Moreover, Azerbaijani soldiers have repeatedly shot at agrarian workers in order to intimidate them, as well as further tighten their net of starvation and deprivation around Artsakh.

Robert Movsisyan, a father of four young children, resides in the village of Chankatagh some hundred meters from the Azerbaijani positions. He provides the outside world with a glimpse into his family’s “normal” daily life, stating, “When the Azerbaijanis open fire, my three-year-old twins, Mary and Mery, sprint from the playground in to the house.”

Chankatagh is located approximately 67 km away from Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh. The villagers consider Saint George’s Church, built at the beginning of the 17th century and surrounded by medieval khachkar headstones, to be their spiritual safeguard amid the challenging circumstances they face.

Robert Movsisyan in his cultivated field

Chankatagh and surrounding villages are directly targeted by Azerbaijani forces. The village is constantly menaced by shelling, civilians and soldiers alike. On the night of June 28, Azerbaijani forces opened fire using UAV guided artillery, killing four Armenian servicemen.

In the aftermath of the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, Chankatagh faces significant challenges. According to Sasun Vanyan, a community leader, most of the village’s arable land came under the control of Azerbaijan. “Out of the 101 hectares of arable land in the community, the villagers cultivated only 13 hectares, and the arable land under our control is under the watch of Azerbaijani soldiers,” Vanyan stated in an interview. Moreover, not only are the villagers disallowed from sowing crops, but they are also banned from gathering grass as fodder for domestic animals. Additionally, due to the blockade, they cannot finish the construction of artesian wells, crucial for the irrigation and water supply of the village. The work has stopped due to the lack of fuel and building materials, leaving the villagers without a reliable water source or hope.

Most of the villagers formerly worked in the Kashen copper mine. However, due to Azerbaijan’s targeting of the mine, operations were suspended and 2,000 employees lost their jobs. Among the unemployed is Movsisyan who, despite challenges, is determined to find alternative means of livelihood. Movsisyan cultivates the family-owned plot of land with potatoes, beans, and tomatoes. However, cultivating the vegetable garden is not easy under the conditions of shooting and lack of irrigation water.

Armine, Robert’s wife, recounts the hardships inflicted by the blockade: the disruption of gas and electricity as well as empty shops. The limited water, which should be used sparingly and for domestic purposes, and to irrigate the vegetable garden near the house.

Despite the numerous difficulties, the young couple is not complaining. “All the difficulties can be overcome, but it is impossible to accept the reality that your children are playing under enemy fire,” says the mother.

They express their strong attachment to the village, stating, “Where shall we go? This is where my family was created, where we built our home. This is where I want to raise my children.”

“If there is peace, we will create everything ourselves, with our own hands, in our home, in our homeland.”

Several kilometers away from Chankatagh is the village of Kichan, which has also been targeted by Azerbaijanis. According to Mayor Arto Hakobyan, most of the arable land around the community is now overseen by Azerbaijan. As a result, the once-thriving industry of animal husbandry, which was the primary livelihood for the villagers, has been severely impacted.

“Before the war, we had more than 500 cattle in the village, now there are only 16 left,” Hakobyan said. The mayor also commented, “The cattle either pass under Azerbaijan’s control land and never return, or the enemy steals them. Unfortunately, there are no borders or boundaries for cattle, cattle do not know the enemy.”

Irina Baghdasaryan with her children in your home, Kichan Village, Artsakh

38-year-old Irina Baghdasaryan is a mother of five, widowed during the 2020 war. Being a single mother, she faces immense challenges that have only been exacerbated by the skyrocketing cost of essential goods amid the blockade. However, as in neighboring Chankatagh, Irina’s most pressing concern is the issue of security. The echoes of war persist for Irina and her children; the shootings and explosions on the night of June 28 were so close that they feared the war had resumed. “The shots were so strong that windows were shattered by the blast wave. I relived the war once more, this time without my husband,” she said with a trembling voice.

The safety of her children is a top priority for Irina. Her 13-year-old daughter underwent a serious surgery and requires close medical supervision and a stress-free environment for recovery. Danger from late night explosions as well as the inaccessibility of fuel made getting to a hospital to ensure Irina’s recovery extremely difficult.

“We will adapt and overcome every difficulty, I am not even complaining about the shortage, but I cannot have peace without the possibility of raising my children in a safe environment.”

Azerbaijan is purposefully creating an unlivable environment for the Armenians of Artsakh through their ongoing blockade and consistent low-level attacks. Despite Azerbaijan’s best efforts, however, the Armenians are defiantly staying where they are. The Armenians’ courage is admirable, but they need Western help. After all, worrying that your child might not survive the playground because Azerbaijani soldiers may shoot them should never be normal.

Turkish officials and ultra-nationalist groups have become furious over the cancellation of the “Ataturk” series on Disney+

August 2, 2023 By administrator

Turkish officials and ultra-nationalist groups have become furious over the cancellation of the “Ataturk” series on Disney+. The six-part series was set to be released on the streaming service on Oct. 29 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic.

Omer Celik, the spokesperson for President Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling AKP Party, along with other figures in Turkey, condemned the decision, labeling it “shameful” and “disrespectful.” Meanwhile, Ebubekir Sahin, the head of Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council, announced an investigation into reports suggesting that the decision resulted from lobbying efforts by various Armenian groups, including the ANCA and 301. As a response, a group of ultra-nationalist Turks went to the extent of hacking our http://301.am website and Twitter account shortly after our coverage of the cancellation. This hack led to our website displaying a landing page with a photo of Ataturk and details of the hacking group. Additionally, thousands of racist comments and tweets from Turks have been incessant for the past 48 hours under posts concerning the cancellation of the “Ataturk” series. Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, was a genocidal dictator who continued the same anti-Armenian policies of his predecessors, who orchestrated the Armenian Genocide.

During WWI, he served as a commander in the Ottoman military and closely collaborated with Talaat and Enver Pasha, two of the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide. Subsequently, Ataturk founded the Turkish Nationalist Movement with the aim of creating a Turkey exclusively for Turks. In pursuit of this vision, Ataturk orchestrated the killing of up to 250,000 Armenians in Turkey in less than three months. His anti-Armenian policies persisted, evident in his writings as he tried to justify the mass killings of Armenians during WWI. Ataturk’s vision for Turkey not only excluded Armenians but also demanded the murder and systematic erasure from the memory of every other ethnic minority that stood in his way.

Jewish rabbis to join the conference in Genocidal Azerbaijan as Jewish ties flourish, Aliyev Petrodollar hard at work

August 2, 2023 By administrator

By Yossi Lempkowicz,

This is the first such gathering in a Muslim nation.

Historically, Azerbaijan is home to three distinct Jewish communities with the country devoid of antisemitism.

By Etgar Lefkovits, JNS

Hundreds of European rabbis from across the continent will be gathering in Azerbaijan this fall to discuss Jewish affairs in the first such convention in a Muslim nation.

The planned event comes amid burgeoning relations between Israel and Azerbaijan that developed from a centuries-long affinity between the two nations into an unprecedented strategic partnership.

The biennial convention of the Conference of European Rabbis is scheduled to take place in Baku between Nov. 12-15 at the invitation of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, who will serve as the honorary host, with about 500 rabbis expected to attend the event.

The primary Orthodox rabbinical alliance in Europe, the organization unites more than 700 religious leaders from communities across Europe. Founded in 1956, it works to defend the rights of Jews in Europe, with freedom of religion and matters related to the Jewish communities expected to be front and center at the conference.

“Azerbaijan is a place with a special memory for the Jewish people, and is home to one of the most unique Jewish communities in the world,” said Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis who met with Aliyev earlier this year.

“The developing ties between Israel and Azerbaijan are of great importance in today’s Middle East,” he added.

The Zurich-born Goldschmidt, who served as chief rabbi of Moscow for nearly three decades, left Russia last year following the invasion of Ukraine and then resigned from his position. His subsequent public criticism of the war led him to be branded by Russia as a “foreign agent.”

Ambassador Lilit Makuntsi’s brother has started a sand mining business. “Trace”

August 2, 2023 By administrator

“Desire rapid wealth? Join the Pashinyan Club for quick riches!”

Hetq. writes: “Vahe Makunts 2023 became a participant in four companies in January and April. The companies are engaged in sand extraction and sale in the Armavir region.

One of them, “X Mining” LLC, received a sand mining permit about 2 months ago but has been illegally mining sand from time to time since January. This is evidenced by the administrative proceedings initiated by the mayor of Metsamor. However, the last administrative proceedings were terminated when V. became a participant in the company.

Makunts. Those companies were established in 2018. after the change of power. Vahe Makunts is not the founder of the companies, but “entered a share” in them, “leaving out” some persons related to the former authorities. Makunts’ business partners are not random people either.

In his interview with “Euronews,” Aliyev openly admits that his life’s mission is to win the war.

August 2, 2023 By administrator

Ruben Vardanyan

In his interview with “Euronews,” Aliyev openly admits that his life’s mission is to win the war. This statement is of significant importance as it indicates that Azerbaijan never wanted a peaceful solution to the problem. Aliyev suggests that the Karabakh Armenians, who now constitute 99.9% of the population, must either become Azerbaijani citizens or leave the land.

This amounts to an announcement of genocide, which he had planned long ago and is currently executing through the blockade of Artsakh. Aliyev labels the November 9 declaration as an act of capitulation by Armenia and calls for “realizing the balance of power,” implying that his army is stronger. This is the rationale behind Azerbaijan’s so-called peace treaty.

Despite appearing to engage in the peace process, the reality on the ground has nothing to do with peace. By adopting this policy, Aliyev challenges the entire European system of values and international law, as he seeks to resolve issues through force, disregarding international law and moral norms. The problem of Artsakh goes beyond mere food. By depriving us of food and medicine, Azerbaijan aims to create conditions that force us to abandon our homeland. This clearly constitutes a policy of ethnic cleansing and forced deportation. How many times must Azerbaijan demonstrate its criminal intentions before the international community acts to prevent the human tragedy in Artsakh? We will not abandon our struggle, but we need the acknowledgement of the situation and real actions to avert this dangerous scenario.
