Terrorist State of Azerbaijan shells Armenian border villages

June 9, 2017 By administrator

Azerbaijan’s armed forces shelled several border villages in Armenia’s Tavush region on Thursday night, causing minor material damage to several residents’ property.
Speaking to Tert.am, the mayor of Baghanis, Narek Sahakyan, said their community was under fire from 9pm to 10pm. “We have not suffered essential losses; a few house roofs were damaged, and one resident had his house fence hit by a bullet,” he said.

Koti, another village in Tavush, also came under Azerbaijani fire at the same hours, the community’s governor confirmed. “The village suffered damage but not very significant,” he said, adding that the situation in the community is now calm.

Both villages were fired intensively by Azerbaijani troops also in the late hours of Wednesday

Residents of Armenia border villages mark start of new school year

September 1, 2016 By administrator

Armenia-children-schoolKnowledge Day and the start of new academic year are marked on September 1 in Armenia’s border villages, just as in the rest of the country.

The border villages, however, have their peculiarities

The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporters visited such villages in Tavush Province, and they participated in the First [School] Bell celebrations in Aygepar village.

The village is noteworthy for the fact that two children, twin brothers Arshak and Artak Anikyan, will be going to Grade 1 this year.

Their father, Arman, is a graduate of the same school.

As per the twins’ mother, Hermine, the boys all summer long dreamed of when they finally will go to school.

Their younger brother, 4-year-old Aram, was following with interest, and stretching toward the school bag.

Even the shots that were regularly fired from Azerbaijan have not dampened the joyful enthusiasm accompanying the First Bell event.

I heartily wish patience to the teachers, and new knowledge to the children,” school principal Arev Arzumanyan said in her welcoming remarks. “[And] I wish peace to our village.”

The award ceremony for children who have excelled in their studies was held under the continuing sounds of sporadic shooting by the adversary. After the ceremony, however, the principal invited everyone inside the school building.

“It’s not safe here in the yard,” she explained.

The school, as well as the entire village, is under constant tension because of the border with neighboring Azerbaijan.

The school walls and windows bear the traces of shooting by the “neighbor.” “They practically fire shots every day, not only today,” the teachers responded when asked whether these shootings are linked to September 1. “Our schoolchildren, including the girls, can quickly disassemble and reassemble a rifle.”

“This year, the school had three graduates,” said Principal Arzumanyan. “One was accepted into an institution of higher education.”

There are two girls, Lilit Avagyan and Ani Arzumanyan, in the current graduating class of the school.

And they walked toward the symbolic first class, holding the hands of the twin first graders.

Another border village of Paravaqar has 28 first graders. The total number of students is 210, nine graduates of this school have entered universities. Angin Nighoyan, the principal of the school, says they are happy that the number of first graders has not reduced. Fourteen pupils are in the graduating class.

Angin Nighoyan has been working as a  principle since 2001. Her son and daughter-in-law are also working at the school.

“Today is a double holiday. It is not only a professional, but a family day, because my eldest granddaughter is a first grader,” Angin says.

Paravaqr, just as many other border villages, are periodically becoming a target for the adversary. “There are no signs after repair works, but there were signs of the mortars before,” said Suren Bulgadaryan, Angin’s husband who is also working at the school.

This photo provided by Kurdish-language Rudaw television network shows Kurdish Peshmerga forces during an anti-Daesh military operation in Khazar region, northern Iraq, on August 14, 2016.

Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces have liberated five villages near Mosul from Takfiri Daesh militants as army troops and allied fighters are battling to drive the terrorists out of the militant-held northern city.

Peshmerga launched an operation in Khazar region east of Mosul at around 5:30 a.m. local time (0230 GMT) on Sunday, and managed to establish full control over the villages of Tal Hamid, Qarqasha, Abzakh and Dasht Takh following fierce exchanges of gunfire with Daesh militants, Kurdish-language Rudaw television network reported.

The report added that two vehicles rigged with explosives were destroyed during the operations. It, however, stopped short of specifying casualties on the ranks of Daesh Takfiris and Kurdish forces.

Kurdish sources, requesting anonymity, said Peshmerga troopers are poised to recapture at least 11 villages from Daesh during Sunday’s offensive.

Having suffered severe blows on the battleground near Mosul, Daesh terrorists have stepped up their acts of terror against civilians and security forces there.

In another development on Saturday, Iraqi media quoted Amir Wasiq, a senior police official in Nineveh Province, as saying that Daesh militants executed 60 ex-officers for cooperating with Iraqi intelligence services in an area south of Mosul.

Mosul fell into the hands of the Takfiri terrorists in June 2014 when they launched an offensive in Iraq.

Hisham al-Hashimi, a consultant to the Baghdad government on the anti-Daesh campaign, recently said a large-scale offensive for the liberation of Mosul was slated for late September.

Last week, Defense Minister Khalid al-Obeidi said high-ranking Daesh militant commanders and their families had sold their belongings and fled Mosul as Iraqi forces were closing in on the city.

The Iraqi army and fighters from the Popular Mobilization units have been engaged in joint operations to retake militant-held regions.

September 11, 2015 By administrator

fc47a5c1-5c18-484a-b7a2-fffa5dd728b0Kurdish Peshmerga fighters have managed to retake seven villages in the northern part of Iraq from Takfiri Daesh militants as they continue to push the terrorists back from the area.

Idris Sheikh Adel, the chairman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) political party in Kirkuk Province, told Arabic-language al-Sumaria satellite television network on Friday that Peshmerga fighters liberated the villages of Albu Mohammad, located some 30 kilometers (18 miles) south of the provincial capital city of Kirkuk, Minor Tal Rabiah, Major Tal Rabiah, Sheikh Saleh, situated 45 kilometers (27 miles) south of Kirkuk, Zaklawa, Samoud and 7 Nisan (April 7) following fierce skirmishes with Daesh extremists.
Separately, seven members of the Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces lost their lives when bombs struck them as they were securing the road linking Baghdad to Kirkuk as well as the center of Daquq town, located approximately 180 kilometers (111 miles) north of  Baghdad.

Brigadier General Mohammed Mustafa Hama, a Peshmerga commander, said 16 Kurdish fighters were also wounded in the act of violence.

Meanwhile, at least 20 Daesh Takfiri have been injured when Iraqi security forces fired a barrage of rockets at terrorist hideouts in the districts of Tal Masoud and al-Maziq, located nine kilometers (5.5 miles) east of Anbar’s provincial capital city of Ramadi.

The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by gruesome violence ever since Daesh Takfiri terrorists mounted an offensive in June 2014. The militants have been committing vicious crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and others.

The Iraqi army together with fighters from the Popular Mobilization Units has been engaged in operations to liberate militant-held regions.

Turkish Army Besieges and Attacks Several Kurdish Provinces and Villages (Kurd Massacre in progress)

August 22, 2015 By administrator

By Kurdistan National Congress KNK:

turk-army-300x183With Erdogan’s ending of the Kurdish-Turkish peace process on the 24th of July a new total war against the Kurds is under way. Since this date Kurdish mountains, villages and geography have been under daily attack and bombardment. For almost a week the Turkish Special Forces, supported by the army, has declared a state of emergency in Kurdish towns and are undertaking extrajudicial killings in the region.

Most recently in districts like Varto, Semdinli, Farqin, Yuksekova, Nusaybin and Lice a state of emergency has been declared, civilians have been targeted, workplaces have been bombed and houses have been set alight. They are not allowing for those that have been killed as a result of these attacks to be buried and those that have been injured to receive treatment. All entries and exits from these towns and provinces have been banned, while the security forces are terrorizing the people in the regions that have been cut off from the rest of the country. Main power supplies and water supplies to these towns are being purposefully cut.

The people living in these places are very worried and say that they are facing the threat of massacre. Until now several civilians have been reported killed, however, according to local sources the death toll is much higher than what is being reported on by the state. The Turkish army has also besieged the rural regions surrounding these districts and is conducting heavy bombardments in the villages; these bombardments are still continuing.

The main reason behind these attacks and the extrajudicial killings of civilians is down to Turkish President Erdogan giving unlimited powers to the security forces. This is yet another sign of the animosity of the AKP towards the Kurdish people. By attacking the Kurdish people, the Turkish government and President Erdogan are morally and practically supporting ISIS.

  • We call upon the international public to stand against this war effort led by the Turkish President Erdogan.
  • We call upon the EU and the member states, the USA and the UN to break their silence over the threat of massacre against the Kurds in Turkey.
  • We call upon the international media to take an interest in the issue that has a significant bearing on the fight against ISIS in the region

Syria Kurds liberate 14 Assyrian Christian villages

May 27, 2015 By administrator

Assyrian Christians, who had fled the unrest in Syria, attend a mass at the Saint Georges Assyrian Church in Jdeideh

Assyrian Christians, who had fled the unrest in Syria, attend a mass at the Saint Georges Assyrian Church in Jdeideh

Kurdish forces in Syria have managed to take control of 14 Assyrian Christian villages that had been held by the Takfiri ISIL terrorists since February.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Wednesday that the Kurdish fighters engaged the terrorists in a ten-day operation to liberate the villages.

The terrorists in February attacked a number of Assyrian Christian villages along the Khabur River in the northeastern province of Hasakah. They also kidnapped hundreds of Assyrians. Reports say 210 hostages are still held by the terror group.

The ISIL raid forced thousands of Christians from their homes.

ISIL, abductions and ransom

Meanwhile, Osama Edward, the head of the Sweden-based Assyrian Network for Human Rights, said photos from the region showed a massive destruction of houses and churches in the liberated villages.

“Most people are afraid to return because they fear that ISIL booby-trapped their houses before fleeing,” he said.

In May, the Assyrian network said ISIL had demanded USD 22 million in ransom for the release of over 200 Assyrians abducted in Hasakah.

Assyrians account for about 2.5 percent of Syria’s 1.2 million Christians. They come from one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. Assyrians inhabit 35 villages in Hasakah, all of which are now under the control of the Kurdish fighters or Syria’s government forces.

No boundaries to ISIL atrocities

The Takfiri ISIL terrorists, with recruits from several Western countries, control parts of Syria and Iraq.

They have been engaged in horrific acts of violence against all ethnic and religious communities, ranging from public decapitations to crucifixions.
