On August 12, 2015, the day after the anniversary of the creation of the Armenian calendar in 2492 BC, according to mythology, a group of Armenian pilgrims have deployed 100 meters of the tricolor around the Armenian ancestral statues of Mount Nemrut in memory to 100th Anniversary of Genocide 1915.

Mount Nemrut is an Armenian sanctuary peak at 2203 meters above sea level north of the Syrian border overlooking the valley of the Euphrates and the main Turkish city of Adiyaman.

The mausoleum, inscribed in 1987 on the list of UNESCO World Heritage, is home to several colossal statues representing the heads of major Armenian gods: Vahagn, Anahit, Aramazd, Commagene Antiochus and goddess. On this terrace are also can see the steles of Mithridates I and his mother Laodice, and at each end an eagle and a lion, Armenia coat of arms.
