Modern technology center opens in Armenia’s Vanadzor

new-tech-centerA technology center opened in Vanadzor, a city in Armenia’s north on Saturday, October 29, with President Serzh Sargsyan attending the launching ceremony.

Implemented by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation, the tech center aims to offer a space equipped with modern, science-based and innovative infrastructures, attracting foreign investments, preparing and training of technical experts, as well as providing business support to startups and sole proprietors.

At the opening event, the representatives of the center showed to the President the IT and engineering educational laboratories, the joint working area specifically designed for startups, as well as a special lab equipped with modern metal processing equipment.

Also, the President was told that at least 150 teams, companies, inventors and sole proprietors will be offered business support and consultancy services.

The center is set to provide some 150 direct and 1000 indirect jobs, as many as 500 experts will be prepared and trained annually, and at least 50 teams and firms will receive support.

New TUMO center to open in Armenia’s Tavush province

new-tumoOn September 24, a presentation event organized by Koghb Foundation for Development of Education, Culture and Sport took place in the Special Events Auditorium of Gafesjian Center for the Arts, announcing the launch of Koghb-TUMO project.

At the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Koghb Foundation, Tavush regional administration, Ucom and the charitable organization Mission Childhood.

Koghb Foundation Director Artur Abovyan, and Director of TUMO Center for Creative Technologies Marie Lou Papazian presented the details of Koghb-TUMO project.

According to the speakers, a new TUMO center for at least 600 students will be opened in Koghb community of Tavush province, which will also serve the teenagers and young people from Noyemberyan, Berdavan and other border communities. The construction of the center will start in November, and the educational activity of the center will commence in 2018.

The educational program will repeat the one implemented in TUMO centers of Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri and Stepanakert, and the teaching staff and international experts will continue sharing their knowledge and experience in the new center as well.

New center of Chinese studies opens in Yerevan

china flagYEREVAN. – A new center for Chinese studies opened in Yerevan State University of Languages after Bryusov.

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, chairman of the university board Hovhannes Hovsepyan, and representatives of the Chinese company Global Group International Holdings Limited of Suite that supported the opening of the center.

Representative of the company Mr. Sen said Chinese people consider Armenia a friendly country and respect its culture and history. Armenia is one of the four oldest countries in the world, the first country to officially adopt Christianity, an ancient bridge between Europe and Asia, and an important part of the Great Silk Road, he added.

Since 2009, the university has been hosting the Institute of Confucius that was involved in studying of Chinese language and culture. The Centre was established under an agreement between the university and China’s State Department for the dissemination of Chinese language abroad.

Karabakh: HIGH-TECHNOLOGIES The center “Tumo” Stepanakert will open in September

The center “Tumo” in full activity, will receive 500 children from various regions of Artsakh aged 7 to 17 years.

ARMENIA A new center for luxury officials inaugurated soon

arton114107-480x270Short of money, yet the Armenian government plans to soon inaugurate the facility which cost 28 million dollars. It includes whirlpools, restaurants and tennis courts. It is supposed to serve as a “training center” for tax officials and Armenian customs.
The government committee that deals with state revenues (SRC) began construction of the center in the resort town of Dilijan in 2011.
