February 27, 2017 By administrator

“Today, on February 27, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry finally published the names of the dead occurred in the no-man’s land as result of the Azerbaijani attack at Artsakh military posts on February 25, at the same time rushing to blame the Armenian side for obstructing the recovery of the dead allegedly through putting forward new demands,” Defense Ministry of the Artsakh Republic reports, reacting to Azerbaijani allegations.

Azerbaijan has no respect even for its soldiers’ bodies – Senor Hasratyan

February 26, 2017 By administrator

Senor Hasratyan, Spokesman for the Defense Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), commented on Azerbaijan-disseminated misinformation in a Facebook message.
According to the Azerbaijani reports, on February 25, the Azerbaijani forces downed an Armenian drone and destroyed an Armenian weapon emplacement and, by the end of the day, allegedly shelled the frontline and adjacent territories.

The message reads:

“After suffering losses last night near Akna and Martuni, given the fact that fives bodies are in the neutral territory, the Azerbaijani side was supposed to draw conclusions and refrain from escalating the situation.

“Or rather, by tradition, Azerbaijan not only continues misinforming its public by claiming that, on February 25, the Azerbaijani forces downed an Armenian drone and destroyed an Armenian weapon emplacement and, by the end of the day, allegedly shelled the frontline and adjacent territories, using weapons and artillery, and fired over 100 shots at the frontline of the Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent territories.

“After that, it is logical that we are dealing with an enemy that is not only cut off reality, but also one that has no respect for the bodies of his own soldiers.”

Bodies of the Azerbaijani soldiers are in the neutral zone between the two opposing troops – Senor Hasratyan

February 25, 2017 By administrator

Spokesman of the Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) Senor Hasratyan has made the following post on his Facebook page: “Initiating another provocative action overnight, the Azerbaijani forces hurried up to put the blame on the Armenian side.

Whereas, the ordinary citizens of Azerbaijan and in particular those citizens whose sons ended up as casualties and at the moment their bodies are scattered in the neutral zone between the two opposing troops due to the order given by their brainless commanders, must eventually realize that this is nothing more than a result of the stupid policy run by  Aliyevs and Hasanovs,” reads the post.

NKR Defense Ministry: The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan bears the entire responsibility of the consequences of escalating the frontline situation

“It is already for several days that the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan escalates the frontline situation and spreads disinformation. After suffering losses overnight, the Azerbaijani leadership again tries to mislead its own society and the international community by talking about the ‘offensive actions’ by the Armenian side.

The Armenian side remains adhered to the ceasefire regime and calls on the Azerbaijani authorities to refrain from taking steps aimed at the further escalation of the frontline situation. The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan will bear the entire responsibility of the consequences of the escalation in the frontline situation,” the Press Service of the NKR Defense Ministry reports in a released statement.

The report reminds that overnight February 24-25, the Azerbaijani forces committed regular offensive attacks towards the frontline troops of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and were thrown back suffering losses.

210001Nagorno Karabakh‘s State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons on Sunday, April 10 exchanged bodies of fallen soldiers with the Azerbaijani side near the settlement of Bash Karvend.

The exchange was organized in accordance with an agreement, previously reached between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Karabakh Foreign Ministry said, providing no other details.

The bodies of 18 servicemen of Karabakh Defense Army were transferred to the Karabakh side.

In the presence of a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Commission registered that all bodies transferred by the Azerbaijani side had signs of torture and mutilation.

“Those acts, being a flagrant manifestation of inhumanity, run counter to the laws and customs of war and are in grave violation of the international humanitarian law, in particular, the Convention (I) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field (1949), Geneva Convention (III) relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War (1949) and the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I),” the Commission said in a statement.

“Karabakh will seek to ensure that Azerbaijan’s behavior is condemned in strongest terms by the international community and relevant agencies, and those responsible are brought to account.”

The parties to the Karabakh conflict agreed on a bilateral ceasefire along the contact line which came into force at midday, April 5.

Prior to that, on the night of April 1-2, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated overt offensive operations in the southern, southeastern and northeastern directions of the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh.

As of April 5, the Azerbaijani side has lost 26 tanks and 4 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as 1 BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, 1 engineering vehicle, 2 military helicopters and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles. The Azerbaijani side has admitted the loss of 31 fighters, 1 helicopter and 1 unmanned drone, whereas the Armenian side’s photo and video materials show dozens of killed Azerbaijani troops, 1 helicopter and 3 UAVs. Opposition media outlets, however, reported on the death of 93 Azerbaijani soldiers, stating that 33 more have been wounded. According to Karabakh authorities, 300 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in clashes.

Turkey: Hundreds of Kurd bodies ‘on hold’ in clash-hit Turkey town “Contentious Turkish crime against Humanity”

March 4, 2016 By administrator

n_96037_1By Gülden Aydın – ŞIRNAK

The bodies of hundreds of people killed during clashes between Turkish security forces and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern town of Cizre are currently being held, with dozens of them rendered unidentifiable because of burns.

In large cold storages close to the Iraqi border crossing of Habur, the bodies of those killed are awaiting autopsies as well as identification, in laboratories set up by the Şırnak Forensic Institute alongside relatives and friends of the deceased.

The deceased were the casualties of a security operation against the Kurdish PKK  in town centers, which led to fierce clashes in Cizre, a district in the southeastern Şırnak province, between Dec. 14, 2015, and Feb. 11.

Forensic institute officials are currently trying to identify the bodies, each stored in a numbered blue body bag. Officials have said the majority of bodies are burnt, making their identification almost impossible.

“We heard of his death on Feb. 13. Our father, Ahmet Tunç, went [to the forensic institute] to identify him, but failed to do so,” said Murat Tunç, the brother of 18-year-old Orhan Tunç who was killed in Cizre. The brother, uncle and several other relatives of the young man are still waiting for the body.

“Getting the body will not be enough. We will get a document from the attorney in Silopi for the funeral. Burial is prohibited in Cizre, so we will bury [the body of Orhan Tunç] in Şırnak,” he added. Silopi is another district in Şırnak that was kept under curfew for weeks.

“We want peace, we want an end to deaths,” said Halime, Orhan Tunç’s sister.  “Do not let what happened in Cizre and Sur anywhere else, do not let the children become orphans.”

Local administration officials have yet to comment on the actual death toll, while the military said 666 “terrorists” were killed in Cizre. However, the Mesopotamia Association for Assistance to Families with Lost Relatives (MEYADER), a non-governmental organization that has unofficially recorded deaths in the southeastern town, put the total number at 167.

Families of the dead were allowed inside the laboratories for identification; however, only 30 of the bodies were reported to be identifiable. Forensic institute officials sent samples from the unidentifiable bodies and with family members’ samples to the Istanbul Forensic Institute for a series of large-scale DNA tests to help with the identification process.

Turkish authorities on Feb. 29 said the number of bodies waiting to be identified was 50. According to official stats, that number dropped to 44 on March 3.

After a weeks-long curfew that was imposed to prevent civilian casualties during military operations against terrorism, Cizre saw a row between the government and lawmakers from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) early February, with the latter accusing the Turkish administration of failing to provide health services for civilians trapped inside three basement apartments, one in Cizre’s Nur neighborhood and two others in the Cudi neighborhood.

Bodies returned! Eternal glory to our guys – David Sanasaryan

November 23, 2014 By administrator

Return-bodyThe opposition Heritage party’s press secretary has left a Facebook post expressing his delight with the military operations that led to the recovery of the downed MI-24 helicopters’ crew.
“We have got the guys’ bodies! Eternal glory to them! Strength to their families and high spirit to soldiers! Thanks to our intelligence! Our martyred heroes were returned on [Karabakh war hero] Leonid Azgaldyan’s birthday. This is not [an occasion of] joy; just a little attempt to reinstate our honor,” reads David Sanasaryan’s status.
Sanasaryan declared a hunger strike in front of the OSCE Office in Yerevan on Tuesday, demanding an international attention to Azerbaijan’s continuing armed violence to prevent an access to the crash site.
