Denmark finalizes ratification of Armenia-EU agreement

YEREVAN. – The Kingdom of Denmark has finalized the ratification procedure of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership agreement, the Armenian embassy in Denmark and Norway said in a statement.

“With the Note Verbale dated September 19th addressed to the EU leadership the Kingdom of Denmark finalized the ratification procedure of the “Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership agreement”, the statement reads.

The agreement was signed on November 24, 2018 and has to be ratified by all EU member states. Armenia has already ratified the agreement.

Romanian parliament ratifies Armenia-EU Agreement

The lower house (Chamber of Deputies) of the Romanian parliament has ratified the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Armenian Ambassador to Romania Sergey Minasyan said, reports Armenpress.

“On June 27 the lower house of the Romanian parliament unanimously (255 votes in favor, 0 votes against) ratified the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement by submitting it to the Senate for the final ratification”, the Ambassador said.

Armenia and the European Union signed the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement in Brussels on November 24, 2017. Among the EU member states the Agreement has been ratified by Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Bulgaria. The lower house of the Polish parliament has also ratified the CEPA.

The Armenian Parliament has ratified the Agreement on April 11, 2018.

Estonia first country to ratify Armenia-EU agreement

Estonia has ratified the Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement between Armenia and the EU, press secretary of the MFA Armenia Tigran Balayan noted.

“We received an official writ from Tallinn according to which Estonia has completed all the procedures necessary for the Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement between Armenia and the EU to enter into force”, Balayan said.

By this Estonia became the first EU member state to give consent to the new agreement between Armenia and the EU.

The Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement between Armenia and the EU was signed on November 24, 2017. The document was signed by the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian and EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
