The word “betrayal” is the softest term, Raffi Hovhannisian

May 26, 2023 By administrator

Raffi Hovhannisyan, the chairman of the “Heritage” party, does not use the term treason, because he considers it too little as an assessment of Nikol Pashinyan’s actions.

He believes that the author of this situation has become a national evil, because “it destroys Armenia, the church, and our perspective.” He believes that if we do not change anything, together we are going to commit our country to the current program of genocide, which includes “total blockade”, “creeping occupation of the territories of the sovereign motherland”.

“He is consciously handing over the sovereign territories of the state. It knowingly causes hundreds of thousands of deaths – of soldiers and citizens. He consciously violates his state oath and violates the constitutional order on many occasions. Here he is looking for an accomplice among his family members, party friends, and other government bodies, which are authorized and obliged according to the same Constitution to ensure the constitutional order of our state and not to allow our law and Constitution to be usurped by any person, party or any current. .

According to Hovhannisyan, Nikol Pashinyan has already lost his “substantial legitimacy”. “He doesn’t have the grace, the manhood, the Armenianness, the dignity to leave voluntarily.”

Moreover: “State, national, civil treason is going on… 5 years ago, he looked fatherly at the soldiers during the march, they were looking at him and waiting for a big change in RA. I was there too. Now, what is it about the boys, if not treason? He used to go to Artsakh, the children would come from schools, he would take him in his arms. To that child, what is this moment now, if not to use the softest edge, treason?’

If there is no change, we will lose our statehood by our own hands. “Would you call a war a peace treaty?” You call yourself the government, or they are the opposition in the parliament. What do we do to defend ourselves for the war? What sobriety do the law enforcement agencies bring to the people to prepare us for the disaster that our neighbors will bring?”

“This person will give everything and bring war, but what are we doing?” asks Raffi Hovhannisyan.

Yerevan: “Publication”. Nikol Pashinyan is recruiting “accomplices”.

May 25, 2023 By administrator

Lusine Shahverdyan

Nikol Pashinyan, who has stated on various occasions that he is ready to stand under the wall of shooting, has declared a “recruitment” of accomplices in the process of drawing the last lines of the surrender of Artsakh. Yesterday we were informed that he ordered everyone in the CP to publicly repeat the anti-Armenian and anti-Artsakh thoughts he voiced at the last press conference, one by one, in order not to bear the responsibility alone, but to form a field of collective responsibility. With that, no one in the CP will think of filing a dispute against him or developing a plan to remove him later.

As is known, at the May 22 press conference, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced that Armenia is ready to recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan’s 86.6 thousand square kilometers, which also includes Nagorno Karabakh and the so-called enclaves located in the sovereign territory of Armenia.

Yesterday, the parliamentary heavy artillery was already on the scene. Ditsuk, NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan conveyed to the journalists through his akhrannik that the boss wants to give a briefing. What he had to say coincided one by one with Pashinyan’s statements. Moreover, Arshakyan even threatened all those who would dare to go out on the streets and fight against the authorities on the issue of handing over Artsakh or, as Prince Saghatelyan said, rebel. “If they say something, let them explain it. What is the rebellion, if it is a demonstration, then it is authorized, there is no problem, and if it is an illegal mechanism, then the legal system of Armenia has proven and will prove that it works, they will receive a direct and adequate answer.

We asked Arshakyan how Armenia recognizes Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, if there is a decision of the RA Supreme Council prohibiting it. Answered. “Armenia has never followed that decision. They accepted the decision and did the opposite. The only case that was consistent with that decision was the phrase “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it.” We reminded that Pashinyan declared that any solution to the issue should be acceptable to the people of Artsakh, while now Artsakh does not agree. In response, Arshakyan stated that he had not heard such a thing.

Let’s notice that in the interviews of CP members, the idea that their actions, and especially Pashinyan’s, are acceptable for the people of Armenia, because they have a vote of confidence. However, 2 years have passed since 2021, when the government got a vote with promises to de-occupy Shushi and Hadrut, to resolve the status of Artsakh. to the question: if they are sure that they have the support of the people, why don’t they solve the issue through a referendum, especially since Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that he will solve it with the people? This question was unwanted for Arshakyan, he said that he could not “say much” on that topic.
Gurgen Arsenyan, one of the Artsakh deputies of the faction, reaffirmed his previous scandalous statement that we will have to give up 120,000 in order to save 3 million. He compared the Armenians of Artsakh with the Armenians of Glendale and Australia. “Our compatriots live in Artsakh, Armenians live in Javakhk, Beirut, Glendale, Australia. The primary task of our statesmen is serving the interests of the Republic of Armenia, protecting the Republic of Armenia. In this historical part, we all face that dilemma, when our mind and heart begin to contradict each other. Sometimes the protection of the state interests of Armenia does not coincide with the algorithm of national interests of Armenians. Our team implements the policy that is useful for Armenia,” Arsenyan said.

The next person to voluntarily throw himself into the arms of the journalists was Gevorg Papoyan, the vice president of the CP Department, and he tried to catch the people’s fear with the threat of a new war. “The people and the political system must make a choice between peace and war, including war against Turkey and Azerbaijan. Considering the current state of the Russian Federation, can you imagine what the amount of possible support could be in the event of a war? You know what the world thinks about the Artsakh issue. What do Iran, France, the USA and the world in general think about territorial integrity and self-determination of nations,” he said, putting the people to a choice. “Are we going to war with the consequences arising from it, and let everyone imagine what kind of consequences it will have for RA, for Artsakh Armenians and, in general, for the independence of RA, or are we going on the path of peace, protecting RA sovereignty, security, the price of the Armenian people living on this land, the Armenian people’s right to live in Artsakh?” By the way, Hakob Arshakyan answered our question: will there be guarantees that there will be no war after the signing of the contract? “Is there a guarantee that the peace agreement will be long-lasting and security will be ensured in the region?” It depends on what international mechanisms and guarantees there will be. Not going that way will mean temporary escalations and a “creeping” war. We don’t want that.” that the peace agreement will be long-lasting and security will be ensured in the region. It depends on what international mechanisms and guarantees there will be. Not going that way will mean temporary escalations and a “creeping” war. We don’t want that.” that the peace agreement will be long-lasting and security will be ensured in the region. It depends on what international mechanisms and guarantees there will be. Artsakh Armenians Sound Defiant Note Following Turkish Agent Pashinyan’s Recognition of Azerbaijani Control

May 25, 2023 By administrator

65-year-old Yura Hayrapetyan, who works in Stepanakert’s botanical garden, tells Hetq that Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan should resign for recognizing Nagorno Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan.

On May 22, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, when pressed by reporters during a press conference, confessed that his government recognizes Nagorno Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan.

Hayrapetyan describes Pashinyan’s position as “defeatist”, adding that he and other Karabakh residents will fight to remain free of Azerbaijani control.

“If we have to fight, we will fight. If Azerbaijan shoots, we should also shoot. Pashinyan should resign now. It is impossible to remain a part of Azerbaijan. If Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan, there will be no Armenians left here. Consider it a genocide, they will be massacred. What happened in Nakhijevan, they will do the same here. We have nowhere else to go. OK, I leave. What about my parents and my wife who are here? If you were born here, you will die here,” says Hayrapetyan.

36-year-old Ruzan Hayrapetyan says Pashinyan’s boast before the 2020 Karabakh war that “Artsakh is Armenia, period” was mere populism.

Ruzan Hayrapetyan believes Armenians will ultimately leave Artsakh if it becomes a part of Azerbaijan and are tired of living in constant fear of what might happen.

“Step by step everything will be much worse than it is now. On the day of his announcement, the same people who came out during the revolution should have gathered and demanded Pashinyan’s resignation,” says Ruzan Hayrapetyan, referring to Pashinyan’s recent bombshell announcement.

“We need a Monte, we need a Bekor. Someone who will be smart in addition to fighting. We have no weapons, no soldiers. We have nothing now. But now we must prove to the world again that this is Armenian land, that our ancestors lived here, and we must continue to live here,” says Ruzan Hayrapetyan, referring to Monte Melkonian and Bekor Ashot (Ashot Ghulyan), two military leaders who fought and died during the first Karabakh war in the early 1990s.

28-year-old Gayaneh Sargsyan said Pashinyan has no right to negotiate the future of Karabakh Armenians, adding that she and others of her generation must follow the example of their parents who fought for their rights.

either. I am sure that people living in Artsakh should not allow someone to make decisions for them.

“I think that if we put our feet firmly on this land, we will be able to keep Artsakh and continue to stay in Artsakh. Naturally, we all want it to be without war. When people cry for war, they should be sure that when the day of war comes, they will be here and not going anywhere.”

Opinion: Nikol Pashinyan does not have a mandate to hand over Artsakh to Azerbaijan

May 24, 2023 By administrator

 ԿԱՐԵՆ ՀԱՐՈՒԹՅՈՒՆՅԱՆ KAREN HARUTYUNYAN ,

By Karen Harutyunyan, Editor-In-Chief

It is evident that Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that his party’s landslide victory in the 2021 snap parliamentary elections has given him a mandate to do whatever he wishes. A typical assumption of a populist leader.

During that election campaign, Nagorno-Karabakh’s (Artsakh’s) “remedial secession” from Azerbaijan was at the center of Pashinyan’s and his Civil Contract party’s platform. Following his win, Artsakh’s self-determination was included in the formal government plan.

This week, Pashinyan shocked the nation by announcing that he is ready to accept Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The human rights, security, and territorial implications of such an irresponsible move are unimaginable.

When asked in an interview earlier this month about his initial campaign announcements, Pashinyan said that most people do not look into those deeply, implying that election promises don’t bear political responsibility.

There are many reason’s for Pashinyan’s landslide victory in 2021, but that’s a topic for another piece. What matters now is that Armenia’s population considers the just solution of the Artsakh issue a priority, as evidenced by various sociological surveys.

In a public opinion poll conducted by the International Republican Institute in January-March of 2023, Armenians were asked what they considered the government’s main failures to be. Artsakh’s situation, the blockade of the Lachin corridor, and the issues of security are at the top of the list.

A November 2022, a survey conducted by the Caucasus Resarch Resource Center and commissioned by CivilNet shows that 39% of Armenians envision an independent Artsakh Republic as the final settlement of the conflict, while 31% consider Artsakh as part of Armenia. Another 13% consider Artsakh’s special status within Russia as a potential solution. The number of people who support an Artsakh within Azerbaijan, even with a level of autonomy is zero or close to zero.

These and other polls indicate that the Pashinyan government does not have the mandate to move forward with a capitulatory settlement, which is the fulfillment of all Azerbaijan’s demands, without any guarantees.

The Civil Contract Party received 689,000 votes in the June 2021 snap elections, and the other 25 parties and factions received 583,000 votes altogether. Less than 50% of eligible voters participated in elections. All this means that Nikol Pashinyan is far from having the absolute support of the Armenian voters and the “mandate to do everything”.

Even if Pashinyan had received 100% of the votes, no leader has the right to renounce Artsakh’s right to self determination, let alone subject a whole population to ethnic cleansing.

Pashinyan’s populism, lies, and endless search for scapegoats are a serious threat to Armenia’s national interests and the security of the Armenian people.

It is more clear than ever that this type of a peace treaty – without the people’s support, without any security guarantees – will not bring peace to the region.
“You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war,” Churchill would say.

Ruben Vardanyan Labels Pashinyan’s Policies “Defeatist”

May 23, 2023 By administrator

Former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, in an interview with a Russian TV station today, said Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan has no right to make any decision on behalf of the people of Artsakh.

Vardanyan, who was dismissed as minister, said the people of Armenia and Artsakh will not accept any peace deal with Baku negotiated by Pashinyan.

Vardanyan claimed that Pashinyan’s approval rating, already very low, will now sink to zero because of his remarks that Yerevan recognizes Nagorno Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.

Vardanyan said that Pashinyan’s policies are “defeatist” given that he was in power when Armenian forces lost the 2020 Karabakh war. He said the defeat is a burden that Pashinyan can’t psychologically overcome.

“Despite the fact that he was re-elected in 2021, it is still visible that the burden of pressure is so great on him that he has not overcome that defeatist mood in himself. And he does not realize that everything he says is not only recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, but also that it will be followed by many fatal actions that will be impossible to stop. So, either he doesn’t understand what he’s doing, but in this case, a big question arises: how he can be prime minister, or he does understand what he’s doing, and this is even more terrifying because what he is doing will lead to disastrous consequences for the people living in Artsakh, as well as for Armenia,” Vardanyan said.

Vardanyan said the west and Russia are vying for influence in the South Caucasus and the outcome will largely depend on whether Artsakh Armenians clearly show all sides that they will never accept Azerbaijani rule.

When asked about the possibility of a new war, Vardanyan pointed to historic examples (Vietnam, Cuba) where small nations have defended their right to independence in face of superior forces.

Robert Kocharyan responds to the Karabakh parliament majority: Did you just now realize what is happening?

May 23, 2023 By administrator

The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, went on Facebook and responded to Monday night’s statement by the National Assembly (NA) of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Kocharyan’s response says as follows:

“To the NA parliamentary majority of Artsakh:

“For my part, I consider the ultimatum demands addressed to the [former] presidents to be inappropriate and insulting. Did you just now realize what is happening? Are you that naive? Even in case of great desire, it was impossible not to see that for the last two years, the open handing over of Artsakh [to Azerbaijan] has been taking place. We talked about it publicly and on all occasions. The Artsakh NA, with its majority (except for 4 MPs), their leaders did not respond to our warnings in any way.

“You supported the authorities of Armenia during the 2021 [snap parliamentary] elections. You ‘didn’t notice’ the mass protests that were taking place in Yerevan in April-May last year. With your obedience and your desire to please the authorities of Armenia, you allowed the fate of Artsakh to be decided without your participation.

“So don’t dare to put the accountability from the sick head on to the healthy one. And, definitely, it’s not for you to judge my level of patriotism. My approaches have not changed: It is necessary to fight for the homeland, not to pretend to fight.”

Jordan and Palestine no longer recognize Armenian Patriarch Nourhan Manougian

May 20, 2023 By administrator

AMMAN — In a joint statement issued on Thursday, Jordan, and Palestine announced their decision to suspend their recognition of Archbishop Nourhan Manougian as the Patriarch of the Armenian Church in Jerusalem, citing concerns regarding his management of properties in the holy land.

The move comes after repeated unsuccessful attempts to address the patriarch’s handling of properties that hold cultural, historical, and humanitarian significance, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The statement emphasized that the decision to suspend recognition was made in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

It was prompted by the patriarch’s actions and deals related to real estate, which have the potential to impact the future of the holy city.

These actions were undertaken without prior agreement and consultation with relevant parties, as required by laws and church regulations.

The patriarch also ignored appeals from Armenian institutions, according to the joint statement.

Concerns over Bustan site and Armenian Quarter
The joint statement highlighted that the decision by Jordan and Palestine follows the recent controversy surrounding the “deal” concerning the Bustan site, also known as “Hadiqat Al-Baqar” (Cows garden in English), and its surroundings, including the Qishla building in Bab Al-Khalil.

These sites are considered a significant part of the Armenian Quarter. Despite requests to halt any actions that could affect the historical and legal status quo of these properties, the patriarch did not respond to these demands, the statement noted.

Both parties affirmed that the Armenian Quarter is an integral and occupied part of the Old City, in accordance with relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, including resolutions 1515, 476, 338, 242, 2334, and other applicable international decisions.

The statement also pointed out that the Executive Board of UNESCO has issued several resolutions recognizing the Old City and its walls as part of the endangered World Heritage list.

The statement of the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, is a shameful statement.

May 15, 2023 By administrator

The statement of the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, is a shameful statement. This is a flagrant violation, if not a blow, to human rights and democracy. David Babayan, Advisor to the Artsakh President for Special Assignments, stated this in an interview with the correspondent of Armenian News-NEWS.am on May 15. Video

“Michel is equated with Chamberlain. As a result of shameful collusion in 1938, democratic Czechoslovakia was also surrendered to Nazi Germany,” he said.

Babayan called it not only a repetition of the Munich Agreement but also a closer cooperation between a perverted democracy and flourishing totalitarianism.

“What kind of democracy are we talking about? These are geopolitically corrupt people. Michel wants to drive us to a concentration camp? And so it turns out. What international mechanisms are mentioned if Chamberlain’s program is being implemented?” the presidential adviser expressed bewilderment.

He believes that all issues should be resolved quickly, as time is short.

“We need to understand the position of official Armenia, the Armenian people, the collective West represented by the United States and Russia. After that, the situation will finally clear up and possible steps to get out of this difficult situation will become clear.

Michel sharply reduced the room for maneuver, he called the figure and did it deliberately. Now we have to get an answer from Armenia and the Armenian people.

Europe legitimized the aggression of 2020, justified the installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor. Thus, she showed that, perhaps, she was directly or indirectly involved in the aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey against the Armenian people in 2020. It also justified Azerbaijan’s aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. Where are these European observers? The same will happen in Artsakh.

The time has come to find out also the position of Russia as the main guarantor of the implementation of this document (has in the form of a statement dated November 9 – ed.). Is she in these processes or not? As long as there are Russian peacekeepers, there is no massacre. Russia has been strong in the South Caucasus for 300 years, thanks also to the Armenians of Artsakh. About 50 thousand Armenians of Artsakh died during the Second World War.

There are no more diplomatic decisions, this issue is closed. Who is Michel who took it upon himself to settle this matter? This is not legitimate, there is the OSCE Minsk Group. He refers to the Alma-Ata Declaration, distorting it. But all this does not matter, the EU just wants to create a united front against Russia, and is ready for anything for this.

What rights are we talking about if we are included in the totalitarian state?” Babayan emphasized.

He recalled that no one in Artsakh is ready to live under the Azerbaijani yoke, saying that out of four options for further actions, two remained.

“The four options were: inclusion in Azerbaijan, maintaining the status quo, struggle, as well as rejection of the Azerbaijani yoke and the biblical outcome. Now there are two options – the struggle and the biblical outcome.

What should we discuss with Baku? How are we going to give up? It is not the issue of Artsakh that is being resolved, but the issue of self-determination of an Armenian, the question of who is an Armenian?

Artsakh has never been a parasite for Armenia and the Armenian people, but has made an unprecedented contribution to the common cause. We want to understand what the Armenian people think.

We do not want to discuss the issue of rights and security or any other issues within Azerbaijan, under any kind of mechanism. The matter will not reach the mechanisms.

There are two ways out – the struggle with an unknown end and a worthy biblical outcome to preserve the gene pool, as the Jews once did when they left Egypt,” the adviser to the President of Artsakh concluded.
