The other day, discussions regarding the identity of the national hero of the Armenian people, Garegin Nzhdeh, have intensified again. We are talking about artificially created discussions around the exhibition of the feature film “Garegin Nzhdeh” held on January 28 at the youth center “The Union of Armenians of Russia”. Speculations on this topic aim to disseminate disinformation and defame the memory of the fighter for the independence of Armenia, as well as to incite hatred towards Armenians and instill discord in allied relations between Armenia and Russia.

Once I already wrote about Garegin Njde – I think it is important to remind a Russian-speaking reader once again about his personality. Garegin Nzhdeh, who so skillfully many people speak about, knowing nothing about his biography, was a personality who stood like a post to protect the Armenian-Russian-Slavian friendship from any Turkish invasion. He participated in the First Balkan War, in the First World War as a deputy commander of the Second Armenian Voluntary Team in the Russian Army, and afterward as a commander of a separate Armenian-Yazid military unit. In addition, Nzhdeh fought as a deputy commander and was also part of a group wife who joined the Ararat squad, later in the First Armenian Regiment.

During the military period, 1250 people left only from one Armenian village of Chadahlu to the front. Out of them, 853 residents of Chardahlin were awarded medals and medals, 452 died on the battlefield, two became marshals of the Soviet Union (Ivan Bagramyan and Amazasp Babajanyan), 12 generals, 57 colonel and seven heroes of the Soviet Union. Today we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army.
Not so long ago, it was a big national holiday for us. The Armenian Army, each of its servicemen, rightly played a great role in the building and defense of Armenian statehood.

This day is another occasion to remember, appreciate and pay homage to the thousands of Armenians who gave their lives for the defense of our homeland, who served in our country in difficult and difficult conditions.

Unfortunately, this holiday has been a bit dark for us for two years already. The army is in a difficult situation, and the country faces enormous security challenges.

But I want all of us to realize that most of the problems are political, they are due to the apathy of the political leadership. The spirit of our army, our soldier is the same, they are ready to defend our homeland with the same dedication.

Our army, yes, is wounded today, but it is there, I am sure, it will become stronger, more efficient. The government of the coming years should be carried out under the slogan “Everything for the soldier, everything for the army.” Otherwise, we in this region, as a state, as an independent entity, will simply have nothing else to say. Therefore, it is the task of each of us to do everything possible to rebuild the army, to make it stronger.

Mother Armenia (Armenian: Mayr Hayastan) is a female personification of Armenia. Her most public visual rendering is a monumental statue in Victory Park overlooking the capital city of Yerevan, Armenia. It was completed and unveiled to the people on November 29, 1967.

Turkish journalist Cem Kucuk sees Armenia as the reason for the cutting off Iranian natural gas supply to Turkey.

According to the Internethaber website, Kucuk stated that Iran is concerned about a rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia, and this is why it stopped supplying natural gas to Turkey—and which has created chaos in Turkey.

The residents displaced from their homes in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression held another protest on Thursday outside the UN Office in Yerevan. 

“We demand the return of the occupied territories of Artsakh. Those, who claim that we should get back at least Shushi and Hadrut, do not respect the right to the free will of the Artsakh population. The Artsakh people established their own Republic and demand its legal-political recognition, which has not always been acknowledged even by Armenia’s subsequent authorities,” one of the participants of the protest said during the rally. 

The protest participants believe that all their issues can be solved through the return of territories occupied by Azerbaijan and when they are back to their homes. 

“Our issue will be solved when Hadrut, Qashatagh, Shahumyan, Qarvachar, Shushi are de-occupied. Our authorities should be deeply involved in addressing this matter. However, they are talking about anything except the core issue – the return of Artsakh,” another participant noted.
