Eduard Sharmazanov writes on his Facebook page. “How did it happen that the allies gave Serzhin 50,000 thousand tons of weapons plus “Iskander” and Nikoli, no? The reason must be sought in Nikol. He should go, and instead, people will come who can get weapons from allies and partners.”

The Horrors of the Other War in Europe Keep Growing | Opinion
MARTIN SONNEBORN AND DUSTIN HOFFMANN ,
http://newsweek.com Anush Apetyan was a mother of three children. On Sept. 13, 2022, she was sent to the borders of Vayots Dzor province, Armenia, to defend her homeland following Azerbaijan’s attack against the sovereign and democratic nation.
The Azerbaijanis attacked deep inside Armenian territory with artillery and drones, its ground forces advancing into the town of Jermuk. Civilian homes were damaged and destroyed, and border posts were overrun, including the post where Apetyan was stationed.
In the aftermath, an Azerbaijani soldier published horrific visuals of the destruction on Telegram. He’s seen walking on a mountain of corpses of Armenian soldiers, kicking the heads of the dead and laughing. He directs his camera toward the naked corpse of a woman whose body has been mutilated. A severed finger is stuck in her mouth; a stone is stuck in one eye socket instead of an eyeball. He points the camera at her exposed pubic area.
The tortured body in the video is believed to be Apetyan, but it is so mangled it is possible the image shows a fellow female combatant who also died the same week.
Any Armenian who saw these images immediately got flashbacks to the bloody 44-day war Azerbaijan launched against the Armenian-inhabited region of Nagorno-Karabakh region. Amnesty International and other human rights organizations reported on the Azerbaijani war crimes, which included soldiers posting videos of themselves beheading old Armenian men
For those wondering how they missed this story, some context is needed to explain why it did not make headlines. Azerbaijan is rich in oil and gas. Any money that the ruling Aliyev family does not pocket goes into the military or is used to bribe European politicians. Equipped with the most modern weapon systems from Turkey—along with Turkish support—and Israel, no Azerbaijani advance could be stopped by Armenia alone.
Armenia is facing this conflict alone. The nation is being punished for its 2018 Velvet Revolution, which aimed to break the country free from its corrupt oligarchs and ruling elite. Armenia stretched out its hand to the West, alienating its old partner Russia, and like Ukraine, now finds itself suffering the consequences—but with far fewer media attention.

As recently as March, the European Parliament warned in a resolution that there was a systematic, country-wide policy of hostility toward the Armenians in Azerbaijan that was clearly promoted by the state. The efforts include historical revisionism, glorification of violence, dehumanisation of and hatred towards Armenians. None of this stopped the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, from travelling to the Azerbaijani capital Baku in July in search of gas suppliers. There she declared the ruling dictator to be a “trustworthy partner.” The EU seems to have traded a Russian dictator for one in Baku in its attempts to address the gas gap.
Meanwhile, many of Europe’s leading nations, including our own country, Germany, have failed to take a stance on the latest attacks. Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock claims her foreign policy has clear objectives that revolve around values and in the Bundestag she calls for a “clear stance” on the Russian attack on Ukraine. But she cannot find a single word to describe the latest attacks by Azerbaijan against Armenia.
The silence from many Western nations is deafening for the Armenians and emboldens Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and his cronies. Even after the United States called out Azerbaijan’s aggressive attacks, most of Europe remained silent.
Armenians are now on high alert because, despite a ceasefire, Aliyev has repeatedly made it clear that he does not accept either Armenia’s borders or its statehood. As early as 2015 he wrote on Twitter: “Armenia is not even a colony, it is not even worthy of being a servant.”
Nikol Pashinyan (The Blame Master), in fact, presented two serious accusations to Russia
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a very interesting statement at yesterday’s government session, which should become a topic of discussion for both the media and,
so to speak, the expert-analytical community. He spoke about the obstacles to arms supplies to Armenia and said the following verbatim: “With such provocations, Azerbaijan is trying to prevent Armenia from having the opportunity to carry out the reforms of the armed forces. Unfortunately, they also have success in the sense of relations with our allies: wherever possible, they try to prevent the supply of arms and ammunition to Armenia.
We have cases where 100 million dollars have been paid, but supply commitments to Armenia are not fulfilled, including by allied countries. This is, of course, a painful reality.” It is self-evident that the allusion is aimed at Russia. It is also understandable that it is not possible to make a more transparent review than this, and as the people would say, “they will tell the donkey the boldest word”. Therefore, what has been said is enough. And since we are talking about the first person of the country, then clarification should be introduced in this matter. The Prime Minister of Armenia, in fact, makes two accusations against Russia.
• Russia does not fulfill or at least does not properly fulfill, its obligations regarding the supply of arms to Armenia.
• Russia violates the principle of equality between two strategic allies, Armenia and Azerbaijan, by serving Azerbaijan’s interests to the detriment of Armenia’s interests.
Of course, these are very serious accusations.
Regarding the first accusation, it should be noted that, judging by what Pashinyan said, it is necessary to guess that it is not about the weapons and ammunition that Armenia simply receives, but the weapons and ammunition and weapons that Armenia has bought, that is, already he paid for them. And here it is not important whether it was bought on preferential terms, as a strategic ally of Russia or a CSTO member or not, because we are talking about the purchased product, which must be properly supplied. And if it is not supplied properly, it can affect the business reputation and reputation of the supplying country, in the sense that the latter can be considered as an unreliable partner.
The second charge is no less serious. According to that accusation, Russia violates the principle of equality between its two strategic allies, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and serves Azerbaijani interests to the detriment of Armenian interests. This means that Russia violates, in general, the accepted principles of building interstate or allied relations, because the building of allied or other kind of relations with any country cannot be directed, directly or indirectly, against a third country. And if there is such a thing, it should give serious thought to the players in the international arena, Russia’s less numerous allies should also be alert, because this camel may knock on their door tomorrow, if the Russian short-term interests in Europe demand such a thing.
And let’s state one more thing that Armenia, which after independence faithfully fulfilled its obligations as an ally of Russia, always supported Russia, protecting it during any vote and other international process, even at the expense of its reputation, did not leave the common structures and, most importantly, made a difficult decision in 2014 to enter the EAEU instead of signing the association agreement with the EU, deserved more respectful treatment. And under no circumstances should Russia put Azerbaijan and Armenia on the same plane.
A criminal case into Nikol Pashinyan motorcade fatal hit-and-run involving pregnant woman Sona Mnatsakanyan, concluding
The investigation of the criminal case into the fatal hit-and-run involving pregnant woman Sona Mnatsakanyan, 28, by the car driven by Armenia Traffic Police Major Aram Navasardyan at a downtown Yerevan intersection on April 26 is coming to an end.
The legal representative of the victim’s successor, lawyer Raffi Aslanyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the conclusion of the additional forensic examination has already been received.
A traffic police car accompanying Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s motorcade had hit the aforesaid pregnant woman and left the scene. The Investigative Committee had initially charged Traffic Police Major Aram Navasardyan under one Criminal Code article—but not with the charge of leaving the scene of the incident. But later, the prosecutor of the case had given an instruction to supplement this charge by charging under another Criminal Code article, too, and to submit a motion to remand Navasardyan in custody. Nevertheless, his charge was added.

When A leader is incompetent: keep blaming others @NikolPashinyan “Our allies do not fulfill their obligations of military supplies”
A typical Pashinyan Our allies do not fulfill their obligations of military supplies.
Pashinyan Came to power by Blaming the former government, he fail and capitulate 44-day war by blaming the Generals, and now he is blaming the allies for not supplying military equipment,
That is a sign of how incompetent person Pashinyan is, he keeps blaming others for his failure, Mr. Pashinyan your lack of negotiation skills and no higher education, no business experience, and no diplomatic experience put Armenia and Artsakh into this quagmire, a country cannot run by street activist especially a country surrounded by enemies… Armenia needs a leader like Greece where he builds the economy, builds the military, and builds an alliance. Pashinyan had time to save Armenian by resigning…
Here is Pashinyan’s lies and deception article:
Armenia has allies that signed arms contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars, the money has been paid, but the allies are not delivering. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at the government session on September 29. Referring to the provocation carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the eastern part of Armenia on September 28 and the three victims of the Armenian side, Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan is trying to make sure that Armenia does not have the opportunity to carry out reforms of the armed forces. “They have some success in their relations with our allies and are trying to prevent the supply of arms and ammunition to Armenia. We have cases where hundreds of millions of dollars have been paid but supply commitments are not met, including by allied nations; this is a painful reality, and we must deeply analyze the situation,” Pashinyan declared. Pashinyan described the attack that took place on September 28 as a continuation of the aggression against Armenia, and then stated that the Armenian side was doing engineering works on the territory of Armenia, when the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of the Armenian positions. Pashinyan repeated his call to deploy international observation groups on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border within the framework of the UN or the OSCE.
Why does Armenia need a Prime Minister? when Artsakh is under Russian peacekeeper and now he wants to hand Armenia’s border to International observers?
Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Twitter that 3 Armenian servicemen were killed today as a result of the new Azerbaijani attack and the Azerbaijani invasion of the Armenian territory should be condemned.
“As a result of the attack, three Armenian servicemen were killed today on the territory of Armenia. This is an attack against Armenia’s independence, sovereignty, and democracy.
The withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops and the deployment of an international observation mission in the Armenian territories affected by the Azerbaijani occupation and in the border areas is an absolute necessity. The Azerbaijani invasion must be condemned and stopped. #StandForArmenianDemocracy!” he wrote.
The RA Ministry of Defense informed earlier that on September 28, starting at 18:00, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, using mortars and large-caliber rifles, opened fire at the combat positions located in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Armenian side has three victims
Lawyers caught up in state bar probe over Armenian genocide settlements
Mark Geragos and Brian Kabateck, two LA-based Armenian American attorneys, have been accused of misappropriating funds from class action settlements relating to the genocide.
LOS ANGELES (CN) — The State Bar of California made an unusual announcement Tuesday: It’s investigating two highly prominent attorneys, Mark Geragos and Brian Kabateck, amid claims that money from a multimillion-dollar class action settlement relating to the Armenian genocide was stolen from plaintiffs.
“It is important to emphasize that the state bar investigates possible misconduct wherever it might occur,” Ruben Duran, chair of the State Bar Board of Trustees, said in a statement. “The status of attorneys, or the size of their practice, cannot and will not impact our decisions to investigate misconduct.”
He added: “I want to stress that in and of itself this announcement is not an indication of any misconduct by the attorneys being investigated.”
In a phone interview, Geragos said he was infuriated by the announcement.
“They’re waiving confidentiality on an investigation they haven’t done, in a matter that’s been investigated three times in the last 12 years by both inside and outside counsel,” he said, adding: “Fucking idiots.”
In a written statement, Kabateck said: “The undisputed facts are and will always be that an independent third-party appointed, approved, and overseen by the Court (like in any class action) distributed the settlement funds to the class members. Neither Mr. Kabateck nor Mr. Geragos were involved in any decision relating to individual payments to victims, nor were they able to decide, review or influence claims made by class members. We have fully cooperated with multiple prior investigations and inquiries conducted by the state bar and others (all of whom found no wrongdoing).”
Geragos is best known as a criminal defense lawyer, having represented such celebrity clients as Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder, Chris Brown and Jussie Smollet. Kabateck is a plaintiff’s attorney, having represented a number of surviving families of victims in the Lion Air Flight 610 crash of 2018, and Los Angeles ratepayers in the Department of Water and Power billing scandal. He is also a former president of the LA County Bar Association. Both lawyers are Armenian Americans.
Kabateck, Geragos and a third Armenian American lawyer, Vartkes Yeghiayan, filed two class actions against insurance companies on behalf of families of victims of the Armenian genocide over unpaid life insurance claims. The suits were both for a combined $37.5 million. But as the Los Angeles Timeslaid out in a lengthy investigation published this past March, numerous victims’ descendants, as well as churches, never got the money they were owed. Before he died in 2017, Yeghiayan claimed Geragos and Kabateck “had splurged on first-class travel and treated the descendants’ money as ‘petty cash,'” according to the Times.
Geragos and Kabeteck, meanwhile, have blamed others for the misappropriated funds, including Yeghiayan, whom they sued in 2011. In a letter to the Times after the investigation was published, Kabateck wrote, “I have always been deeply saddened that Mr. Yeghiayan and his co-conspirators took money from the decedents of victims of the Armenian genocide, and that is why I worked so hard to reveal their actions and help hold them accountable.”
Duran, in his statement, thanked the LA Times for “its excellent reporting on the distribution of Armenian genocide settlement funds.”
The State Bar of California is still reeling from the Tom Girardi scandal, in which it was badly implicated. Girardi, another prominent plaintiff’s attorney — and famously married to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne — has been accused of stealing tens of millions of dollars from his clients, including some families of the Lion Air crash.A Timesinvestigation found that Girardi was, for decades, able to avoid discipline and hide his misdeeds, in part by befriending judges and key figures in the bar association.
In his statement, Duran pointed to Girardi as the reason why the bar was announcing the investigation.
“Confidence in our ability to do so has unfortunately been shaken in recent times by the Girardi matter and what it represents,” he said.
Geragos called it a ruse. “The obvious conclusion is they’re just trying to divert attention, because of Girardi. I have nothing to do with Girardi,” he said.
