#Trump to appoint #Turkish DECEPTIVE Weight loss Dr. Oz, to White House Sports,

May 4, 2018 By administrator

Trump is appointing New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to his Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, Axios reported Friday.

The council will reportedly include a number of well-known figures, including Turkish Deceptive Dr. Mehmet Oz, former NFL star Herschel Walker, former baseball star Mariano Rivera, golfer Natalie Gulbis and Olympic volleyball player Misty May-Treanor.

Trump appeared on Dr. Oz’s show during the 2016 campaign to discuss his health and reveal the results of a brief health evaluation by his then-doctor Harold Bornstein.

Trump is reportedly planning to host a “sports field day” at the White House’s South Lawn “in the coming months.”

The Axios report notes that Trump’s version of the council will place more emphasis on encouraging children to play sports. Under former President Obama, it was called the Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition and put the focus on eating right and healthier school lunches.

Trump has been longtime friends with Belichick, a legendary NFL coach who has won five Super Bowls. Trump frequently talked up his links to Belichick and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the campaign and shared a letter from Belichick endorsing him days before the election.

The New York Times reported earlier this week that White House chief of staff John Kelly had noted Trump recently spent a “long time” on the phone with Belichick discussing Brady’s status with the team.

Brady called Trump a “good friend” and confirmed he had a “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker in 2015.

Trump Tower fire: Hotel in Azerbaijan capital Baku ablaze just weeks after deadly inferno at New York building

April 28, 2018 By administrator

A skyscraper that was slated to become a Trump International Hotel in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku has caught fire.

The Azadliq newspaper reported that the blaze broke out on the middle floors of the 33-storey building, which is locally known as Trump Tower, and spread.

Etibar Mirzoev, deputy head of the Emergency Situations Ministry, said there were no injuries and authorities were working to establish the cause of the of the fire.

He said it took more than three hours to extinguish the flames and suggested the response was delayed because of road closures put in place for Sunday’s Grand Prix, on the Baku City Circuit.

It came after an apartment fire at Trump Tower in New York left a prominent art dealer dead and six firefighters injured earlier this month.

Development was started on the tower in Baku a decade ago but it has never opened.

Originally planned as a luxury apartment building by local developers, the project was taken over by the future US President’s company in 2012.

TRUMP APRIL 24TH STATEMENT A MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO UNEQUIVOCALLY REAFFIRM THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

April 24, 2018 By administrator

Reported by the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly).
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, while President Donald Trump’s April 24th statementreflects a dictionary definition of the Armenian Genocide, it falls short of President Ronald Reagan’s declarative statement on the Genocide,
“It is a sad day when an American President cannot speak the truth about a proud chapter in American history, where, thanks to America’s unprecedented humanitarian relief effort, thousands and thousands of survivors of the Armenian Genocide were saved in what Ambassador Henry Morgenthau described as a ‘campaign of race extermination,'” stated Assembly Executive Director Bryan Ardouny.  “U.S. credibility on human rights and genocide prevention will be better served when we unequivocally affirm the Armenian Genocide. A genocide denied is an injustice to all,” Ardouny concluded.
In 1981, President Reagan squarely acknowledged the Armenian Genocide, stating that “Like the genocide of the Armenians before it, and the genocide of the Cambodians which followed it – and like too many other such persecutions of too many other peoples – the lessons of the Holocaust must never be forgotten.” This accurately reflects America’s values and record of speaking out against genocide.
To date, almost every U.S. state has issued a proclamation or resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide, honoring the lives lost as a result.
This morning, French President Emmanuel Macron, who is in Washington, D.C. on an official visit, acknowledged the Armenian Genocide in a statement to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
“With you, we remember April 24, 1915 and the murder of 600 intellectuals in Constantinople that evidenced the start of the first genocide of the 20th century. We will never forget those murdered men, women and children who perished on the road to exile, from hunger, the cold and emaciation,” President Macron said. “The memory of the Genocide and the significance of its lessons pertain to all of us. Today, on the 103rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, I convey to you and your people my most heartfelt regards.”
Through a state-of-the-art online museum and the Armenian National Institute (ANI) website dedicated to the study, research, and affirmation, which had over 7.5 million hits last year alone, the Assembly remains committed to genocide education, awareness, and prevention. The interactive site invites visitors to explore the story of the Armenian people and their fateful experience in 1915, and serves on the frontlines against genocide denial.  A new page features the ground-breaking digital exhibit on the YMCA and American relief efforts during the first republic in Armenia. ANI also launched a Turkish language version of its educational website to provide further access for Turkish-speaking audiences.
President Trump’s April 24th statement comes at a time when Turkey has escalated its disregard for American democratic values, acting more like an adversary than a U.S. ally. Less than a year ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s bodyguards attacked peaceful protesters in our nation’s capital. In an effort to further muzzle legislators, such as Parliamentarian Garo Paylan, the Turkish Parliament banned anyone from mentioning the Armenian Genocide in Parliament. Ankara also continues to interfere with the Armenian Patriarchal elections and discriminates against Christians and other minorities on a daily basis.
As Armenians across the world commemorate the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President Erdogan issued a statement blatantly denying the Genocide. Refusing to acknowledge this historical fact, the statement instead distorts the history of Ottoman Turkey for Armenians and Turks alike. Meanwhile, in a further disturbing development, the Governorship of Istanbul has prohibited an Armenian Genocide commemoration event.
Established in 1972, the Armenian Assembly of America is the largest Washington-based nationwide organization promoting public understanding and awareness of Armenian issues. The Assembly is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt membership organization.

Trump Administration prefers to appease Erdogan over upholding the rights of Americans

U.S. president Donald Trump signed the $1.3 trillion spending bill on Friday, March 23, under which Armenia will receive no assistance from the U.S. while neighboring Georgia will get more than $105 million.

Also, around $421 million will be allocated to Ukraine.

Funds appropriated by the document and made available for assistance for the Eastern Partnership countries are set to advance the implementation of Association Agreements and trade agreements with the European Union, and “to reduce their vulnerability to external economic and political pressure from the Russian Federation,” the document said.

In testimony submitted to the Senate panel drafting the Fiscal Year 2019 foreign aid bill, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) had called for a targeted $70 million aid package that would fund de-mining and rehabilitation in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), implementation of a proposal to deploy gunfire locators along the line-of-contact, the expansion of U.S.-Armenia economic and military partnerships, and support for Armenia as a regional safe haven for at-risk Middle East refugees.

Trump pardons Navy sailor who used ‘Hillary Clinton defense’

Trump pardons Navy sailor

By S.A. Miller – The Washington Times – Updated: 3:23 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018

President Trump has pardoned former Navy sailor Kristian Saucier who was convicted of breaking laws by taking a photo inside a nuclear submarine, the White House said Friday.

The case gained national attention because the prosecution of Mr. Saucier contrasted sharply with the Obama Justice Department decision not to bring charges against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified material on her secret email server.

Mr. Saucier’s attorney unsuccessfully used a “Hillary Clinton defense” that argued his client couldn’t be held to a higher legal standard than Mrs. Clinton.

A federal judge in August sentenced Mr. Saucier, former Navy machinist, to one year in prison and a $100 fine.

In announcing the pardon, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders cited Mr. Saucier’s otherwise exemplary service in the Navy.

“How sweet power is” Trump suggests US should have ‘president for life’ like China, report

March 4, 2018 By administrator

US President Donald Trump has praised Chinese President Xi Jinping after the ruling Communist Party reportedly declared plans to eliminate a two-term limit for the presidency, paving the way for Xi to serve indefinitely.

In a closed-door fundraiser in the state of Florida on Saturday, Trump further expressed hope that the US may have a president for life some day, according to audio excerpts of his remarks carried by CNN.

“He’s now president for life, president for life. And he’s great. And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday,” Trump said to cheers and applause from his supporters.

The US president also criticized his Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton in 2016, repeated his view about “a rigged system,” and called the military invasion of Iraq as “the single worst decision ever made.” He further referred to former President George W. Bush as “another real genius.”

During the remarks, Trump commended his Chinese counterpart as “a great gentleman” and added, “He’s the most powerful (Chinese) president in a hundred years.” He also said that Xi had treated him “tremendously well” during his visit in November.

This is while the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment late Saturday.

Trump has often praised Xi, but in January he stated that Washington was considering a big “fine” as part of a probe into China’s alleged theft of intellectual property. He has also been critical of China’s trade policies.

The US president told The New York Times in December that he had “been soft on China because the only thing more important to me than trade is war.”

Breaking News: Trump slaps tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, Dow plunges

March 1, 2018 By administrator

Trump slaps tariffs

by Martha C. White,

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the administration will slap tariffs of 25 percent on imported steel and 10 percent on imported aluminum and the prospects of a trade war sent the Dow plummeting nearly 600 points in mid-afternoon trading.

Trump, who has made no secret of his desire to implement more protectionist trade policies, tweeted that steel and aluminum manufacturing in the U.S. had been “decimated by decades of unfair trade and bad policy.”

“We’re going to be instituting tariffs next week,” Trump announced at a meeting of business leaders at the White House.

“People have no idea how badly our country has been treated by other countries,” the president added, blaming past U.S. negotiators for not having a “clue” about trade.

The announcement came after reports of infighting between free trade and protectionist factions in the White House. Free trade supporters warned that imposing the tariffs could lead to trade wars that would negatively impact American industries ranging from agriculture to technology.

Experts who support free trade agreed.

“It will open a Pandora’s box — protecting an industry based on national security concerns is a rarity,” said Dan Ikenson, director of the Cato Institute’s trade policy studies center.

Robert Scott, senior economist at the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute, said tariffs that failed to distinguish between America’s trade allies and countries like China, which the U.S. has accused of illegal trade practices, could make it more difficult resolve trade disputes.

“The best of options is higher tariffs on steel from unfair traders and quotas on everyone else,” Scott said. “The advantage to that approach is it would allows us to work with other countries to impose similar tariffs on these unfair traders.”

Analysts on both the right and left also warned that the tariffs would have unintended consequences that could hurt the same industries that Trump said during the campaign he would protect.

“Immediately, the steel and aluminum using industries in the United States are going to see their costs of production go up, and they’ll also have trouble competing with their foreign competition because foreign manufacturers will be able to charge lower prices,” Ikenson said. “This is disconcerting because there’s a lot at stake.”

Ikenson added that getting an international buy-in would help achieve better global price parity, but laying down a one-size-fits-all tariff would give the U.S.’s closest trading partners, such as Canada and Mexico — two major exporters of steel to the U.S. — little incentive to initiate trade actions at the U.S.’s behest.
