Russian MoD: Terrorists readying chemical attack to frame Damascus & provide pretext for US strikes

August 25, 2018 By administrator

RT The US and its allies are preparing new airstrikes on Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said, adding that militants are poised to stage a chemical weapons attack in order to frame Damascus and provide a pretext for the strikes.

The attack would be used as a pretext for US, UK and French airstrikes on Syrian targets, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov said. USS ‘The Sullivans,’ an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer, was already deployed to the Persian Gulf a couple of days ago, he added.

The destroyer has 56 cruise missiles on board, according to data from the Russian Defence Ministry. A US Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a supersonic bomber equipped with 24 cruise missiles, has also been deployed at the Qatari Al Udeid Air

The provocations are being prepared by militants from Al-Nusra Front (now known as Tahrir al-Sham) in Idlib province, northwestern Syria,

In order to stage the attack, some eight canisters of chlorine were delivered in to village near Jisr al-Shughur city for the terrorists’ use, he added. A separate group of militants, prepped by private British security company Olive, have also arrived in the area. The group will be disguised as volunteers from the White Helmets group and will simulate a rescue operation involving locals purportedly injured in the attack, according to the military official.

According to the Defense Ministry spokesman, recent statements by US National Security Advisor John Bolton – in which he threatened to bomb Syria – could be interpreted as an implicit confirmation of such airstrikes. On August 22, Bolton stated that “… if the Syrian regime uses chemical weapons, we will respond very strongly and they really ought to think about this a long time.”

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned Washington against new reckless moves in Syria, RIA Novosti reported. “We hear ultimatums from Washington, including those made in public,” the top official said, apparently referring to Bolton’s recent remarks.

According to Ryabkov, the US is aiming to destabilize Syria and create new pretexts for regime change in Damascus. “Again, we are witnessing serious escalation of the situation [in Syria],” he added.

In April, the US, UK and France unleashed a bombing campaign on Syria. The airstrikes were carried out in response to an alleged gas attack in Douma on April 7, which the West blamed on Bashar Assad’s government. The operation started hours before a team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was due to reach the city.

Back then, Syrian defenses were scrambled to repel some 103 cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles launched at civilian and military targets by the Western trio. It managed to intercept at least 71 of them, the Russian Defense Ministry said at the time.

Turkey: Erdoğan’s World of Terrorists Includes Everyone but Terrorists

May 3, 2018 By administrator

by Burak Bekdil,

  • Anyone who freely thinks for himself regarding Turkish President Erdoğan’s one-man rule, at home or abroad, can get the label “terrorist.”
  • On April 25, a Turkish court sentenced 14 staff members of the opposition newspaper Cumhuriyet to prison on charges of “terrorism,” and handed down sentences ranging from 2½ years to 7½ years.
  • When Erdoğan is not fighting hundreds of millions of “terrorists,” including almost the entire European continent, the U.S. and probably half his own nation, he is busy cultivating deeper ties with countries such as Russia, Sudan and Iran.

In another speech, again apparently succumbing to amnesia regarding decades of Arab and Muslim wars against Israel, he said: “You [Israel] are a terrorist state. It is known what you have done in Gaza and what you have done in Jerusalem. You have no one that likes you in the world.” — as if the entire world were a fan of Erdoğan.

On April 7, Erdoğan accused France of abetting terrorists by “hosting them” at the Élysée Palace, amid a diplomatic row between NATO allies Turkey and France over Paris’s support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the main, Kurdish-dominated ground force that defeated Islamic State swathes of land in Syria. SDF also is an ally of the U.S. troops fighting in Syria. But Erdoğan said:

“You [France] will not be able to explain this. You will not be able to rid yourself of this terror burden… As long as the West nurtures these terrorists, you will sink”.

Then, there is the United States that “works with the terrorists:” In February Turkey warned American soldiers in Syria of the possibility of being treated as terrorists if they keep backing Kurdish militants. Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ threatened that U.S. soldiers risk being caught up in clashes and that Turkish troops would not make a distinction if Americans appear in Kurdish uniforms.

In the worldview of the Turkish government, almost the entire continent of Europe is made up of terrorist states. In an April 25 speech, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım accused European nations, with the exception of Spain, of supporting terrorist organizations. A few weeks earlier, Yıldırım warned Bosnia-Herzegovina, a state friendly to Turkey, that it could be a target if it supported the “Gülenist terror organization,” a reference to the Muslim cleric, Fethullah Gülen, who was once Erdoğan’s staunch ally, but now is in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania.

Anyone who freely thinks for himself regarding Erdoğan’s one-man rule, at home or abroad, can get the label “terrorist.” On March 24, Erdoğan criticized anti-war students at one of Turkey’s best universities, Boğaziçi, calling some of the people there terrorists after a fight that erupted on campus over Turkey’s military incursion into a Kurdish enclave in neighboring Syria. He called the protesting students “communist, traitor youth” protesting a “religious, nationalist, local youth.” The “communist, traitor youth” were immediately detained.

On April 25, a Turkish court sentenced 14 staff members of the opposition newspaper Cumhuriyet to prison on charges of “terrorism,” and handed down sentences ranging from 2½ years to 7½ years. Another defendant in the case, who was not employed by Cumhuriyet and had been charged for his activities on Twitter, got the stiffest sentence, 10 years. “It has been journalism itself that has been in the dock and today’s verdicts defy logic and offend justice,” said Milena Buyum, Turkey campaigner at rights group Amnesty International. “These politically motivated sentences are clearly intended to instill fear and silence any form of dissent.”

All that is insane. When Erdoğan is not fighting hundreds of millions of “terrorists,” including almost the entire European continent, the U.S. and probably half his own nation, he is busy cultivating deeper ties with countries such as Russia, Sudan and Iran.

During a December visit to Sudan, Erdoğan called his host, President Omar al-Bashir “his brother”. Sadly, Erdoğan’s brother, al-Bashir, is a man who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide and war crimes against his people.

Erdoğan, meanwhile, is allying with Russia and Iran, ironically, to topple Syria’s Russia- and Iran-backed dictator, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and to “bring peace to Syria” while invading the Kurdish enclaves in the country’s north.

In Erdoğan’s ideological divide, the world consists of “terrorist” countries such as the entire continent of Europe (minus Spain), plus the U.S. and half of his own country — as opposed to “noble” countries such as Russia, Sudan and Iran.

The three men were caught on CCTV hours before they were shot dead following a second terror attack (Image: REUTERS)

Omar Hychami, Houssaine Abouyaaqoub and Moussa Oukabir were later gunned down in a hail of bullets as they launched a second attack in Cambrils

By Natalie EvansGerard Couzens

Footage has emerged showing the Barcelona suspects laughing and joking at a petrol station shop just hours before the terror attack.

Three of the attackers shot dead in Cambrils last week were caught on CCTV buying items at the motorway service station shop.

The men were identified by Catalan daily Ara as Omar Hychami, Las Ramblas killer Younes Abouyaaqoub’s brother Houssaine and Moussa Oukabir, wrongly initially believed to be the driver.

Ara, who published the footage on Wednesday, reported that the attackers visited the same petrol station four times that day and regularly charged their pre-pay cards at the shop.

On the day of the attack they purchased bread, omelettes and lighters, Ara reported.

Hours later they were gunned down in a hail of bullets by a hero police officer as they attacked pedestrians with an axe and knives in the sleepy seaside town.

US & Europe should investigate Azeri shipments of weapons to terrorists

A stunning investigation by Bulgarian reporter Dilyana Gaytandzhieva revealed that Azerbaijan’s state-run Silk Way Airlines has shipped under diplomatic cover 350 planeloads of heavy weapons and ammunition to terrorist groups around the world in the last three years! Azerbaijan asked the Foreign Ministries of various countries to issue a diplomatic exemption for these flights, allowing civilian planes to carry weapons which would normally be prohibited by the International Air Transport Association.

The reporter’s information is based on a large number of emails sent to her by an anonymous source: “The leaked files include correspondence between the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria with attached documents for weapons deals and diplomatic clearance for overflight and/or landing in Bulgaria and many other European countries,” in addition to Syria, Iraq, the United States, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, and Israel, to name a few.

According to documents obtained by Gaytandzhieva, “Silk Way Airlines offered diplomatic flights to private companies and arms manufacturers from the US, the Balkans, and Israel, as well as to the militaries of Saudi Arabia, UAE, and US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and the military forces of Germany and Denmark in Afghanistan and of Sweden in Iraq. Diplomatic flights are exempt of checks, air bills, and taxes, meaning that Silk Way airplanes freely transported hundreds of tons of weapons to different locations around the world without regulation.”

The leaked documents also reveal that American weapons manufacturers had shipped over $1 billion of weapons through Silk Way Airlines. These were non-US standard weapons which means that they were not intended for use by U.S. forces. When Silk Way Airlines did not have enough available planes, Azerbaijan’s Air Force jets would transport the military shipments, Gaytandzhieva reported.

According to the U.S. federal contracts registry, in December 2014, the U.S. Special Operations Command signed a $26.7 million contract with the American company Purple Shovel. Bulgaria was listed as the country of origin for the shipped weapons and Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry as the consignee. Another US company, Orbital ATK, received a contract for $250 million of non-US standard weapons.

Amazingly, the daring Bulgarian reporter went to Aleppo, Syria, in December of last year where she “found and filmed 9 underground warehouses full of heavy weapons with Bulgaria as their country of origin. They were used by Al Nusra Front (Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria designated as a terrorist organization by the UN).”

Gaytandzhieva discovered that just in April and May of 2017, Azerbaijan’s Air Force jets transported 282 tons of grenades on 10 diplomatic flights.

Another major purchaser of non-US standard weapons is Saudi Arabia which cannot use these weapons for its own defense as they are not compatible with its arsenal of western weapons. In 2016 and 2017, there were 23 diplomatic flights carrying weapons from Bulgaria, Serbia and Azerbaijan to Jeddah and Riyadh. These weapons were transported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through Silk Way Airlines and ended up in the hands of militants in Syria and Yemen that Saudi Arabia officially admits supporting, according to Gaytandzhieva.

On April 28 and May 12 of this year, Silk Way Airlines carried out two diplomatic flights from Baku to Burgas-Jeddah-Brazzaville (Republic of Congo). The military cargo on board both flights was paid for by Saudi Arabia. The aircraft was loaded with mortars and anti-tank grenades. These very same weapons were discovered by the Iraqi army a month ago in an Islamic State warehouse in Mosul. It is not surprising that Islamic State terrorists have displayed these weapons in their propaganda videos, according to Gaytandzhieva.

The same situation existed with the shipment of Coyote machine guns which appeared on propaganda videos posted online by militant groups in Syria. These weapons were transported on a diplomatic flight via Turkey and Saudi Arabia a few months earlier. There are many other examples of such shipments that ended up in the hands of terrorists, including some shipments sponsored by United Arab Emirates.

In February and March 2017, Saudi Arabia received 350 tons of weapons on Silk Way Airlines’ diplomatic flights originating from Baku. The cargo included 27,350 pieces of 128-mm rockets and 10,000 pieces of 122 mm. Grad rockets.

Some of these shipments were paid in cash which may account for the huge amount of wealth accumulated by Pres. Aliyev and his family.

Just as concerning are the shipments of large quantities (around 200 tons) of white phosphorus which could be deadly. Ironically, Azerbaijan, which possesses white phosphorus, accuses Armenia of using it in the Artsakh conflict.

This is not just another article which should be read and forgotten! The US Congress and European governments should hold hearings and investigate these huge shipments of weapons, most of which are destined for terrorists in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and a third jihadist drove a rented van into crowds before calmly strolling into Borough Market and stabbing multiple victims.

ByRussell Myers,

Two of the terrorists who rampaged through London Bridge killing seven and injuring 49 have been unmasked.

Khuram Shazad Butt, 27, Rachid Redouane, 30, and a third jihadist drove a rented van into crowds before calmly strolling into Borough Market and stabbing multiple victims on Saturday night.

The trio were gunned down by counter terror cops who neutralised the threat within eight minutes of being called to the scene.

Butt, also known as “Abz”, is believed to be the killer wearing an Arsenal shirt pictured lying on the ground outside the Wheatsheaf pub.

The former security guard and Transport for London worker from Barking, east London, was known to police after associating with extremist Muslim preachers.

He appeared on a Channel 4 documentary last year titled “The Jihadist Next Door” where he unfurled an ISIS-style flag in London’s Regent’s Park.

At least two individuals have claimed they reported him to the anti-terrorist hotline as his radical views emerged over the last two years.

Redouane, who also lived in the Barking and Dagenham area, is believed to have been identified from an Irish ID card found in his pocket after he was executed by armed cops.

He is understood to be of Moroccan descent and had previously been living in Dublin.

No, Sasna Tzrer are not “terrorists” by Ara Toranian

August 28, 2016 By administrator

not-terroristAre Sasna Tzerer “terrorists”? In any case the Armenian authorities are well guarded to qualify in this way during the time that lasted the occupation of the police barracks by this group during the second half of July. Better, they have promised a fair trial would be prohibited where this humiliating notion. And when they surrendered, very theatrical, the police have treated these men as fighters, with dignity. So may we be amazed by the output of chairman of the Armenian parliament on 25 August. The latter, Mr. Galust Sahakian, has indeed allowed to violate the gentlemen’s agreement that had prevailed throughout this action by using the location of its players ignominious epithet “terrorist”.

While we can all afford: back on their word, in favor of a change in circumstances, a change of a power struggle. As can backtrack on the compromise with the parliamentary opposition on the anti-fraud devices that must be in place for the next elections. Just as one can swear, spit every three months we will take exceptional measures to fight against corruption and tax evasion, but never take action. One can certainly agree all right, promise everything and never take anything once one has all the levers of power, even if the conditions that allowed this monopoly are unreliable.

But in the end, that is the word of the State, if it continues to be flouted by those who have the same exorbitant privilege to enforce? What credibility when lying is erected by some rule of governance? And where is the sense of honor and when you hit the back of the men who no longer have the means to defend themselves, while also, power has also shown its capacity for restraint by refusing such to storm during the occupation of the barracks, or freeing some political activists wrongfully detained as Alec Yenikomchian.

Harsh words were spoken in our columns and the author of these lines on 17 July against this action “suicidal” and its actors, while it had resulted in the death of a policeman with extremely serious injuries to two others (one of whom died a few weeks later), and the kidnapping of four police officers. But we owe to the truth to say that in the days that followed, the members of the commando were able to give a different image of themselves as projected by violence, primal, of their action. By their past first unveiled over the day, which is that of patriots and activists dedicated to the cause of their people. By their behavior then: military ceremony with their prisoners armed for the occasion to pay tribute to the police officer killed in the heat of the moment; then the release of their hostages unconditionally; finally surrender accepted “not to run extra blood” in an atmosphere of soothing words and commitments the government on a magnanimous justice.

A very important part of the inhabitants of Yerevan is not it also wrong, providing massively (events 20 000) support to those it has elevated to hero, chanting their names on the streets brandishing their portraits. The people never defends “terrorists”. And whatever the opinion one may have about this action and its proclaimed objectives, it must be recognized that it implied for the perpetrators a sense of extraordinary commitment, to sacrifice, and that n ‘obeyed, essentially, that the ideals imbued with nobility (release of political prisoners, denouncing any surrender of territory to Azerbaijan, etc.). All this, commands respect, even though we can not accept violence as a procedure of political activity in Armenia. Respect does not mean approval.

And the state grow up in these circumstances, and in this dangerous stage facing the country, to set an example of responsibility rather than taking the easy trampling down those who dared challenge him. Because no excess, no triumphalism may be liable to calm things down. On the contrary. These are past injustices that have brought the Armenians, among the best, to put their lives in the balance to change things, even take the risk of adventurism. These are the disproportionate prison sentences, some arbitrary, too numerous democratic deficiencies, poor prospects of legal solutions that have shaped the unfortunate belief that only a coup would be likely to break the deadlock.

At a time when Armenia will celebrate 25 years of independence, it is time for its leaders to opt for other software, to reverse the trend, to break the vicious circle of violence, say no to the inevitability of conflict and reports of inter-Armenian forces. Although the radical opposition, with its excesses, also bears its share of responsibility in the situation, it is for them to restore confidence, to renew the son of the dialogue, and to enforce compliance not by coercion but by respecting precisely those they serve to lead. Any state needs order. But it is more based order, and stronger, than that derives its legitimacy from the people, that inspires the moral authority, exemplary. It is this prestige and confidence that it is now up to those in power to restore. While there is still time.

France’s military intelligence says “each week” nearly 100 foreign militants enter Syria via the Turkish border

July 20, 2016 By administrator

terrorist from turkeyFrance’s military intelligence says “each week” nearly 100 foreign militants enter Syria via the Turkish border to join the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.

“According to the Direction for Military Intelligence (DRM) in Paris, each week, about 100 foreigners continue to cross Turkey into Syria” to join Daesh, the French daily Le Figaro quoted sources as saying on Wednesday.

On July 17, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault questioned Turkey’s viability as a partner in the battle against Daesh, adding that the subject will be debated at an upcoming anti-terrorism coalition summit, which is slated to be held in the United States.

The French Defense Ministry has made no comment on the daily’s report.

Turkey is said to be among the main supporters of the militant groups operating in Syria, with reports saying that Ankara actively trains and arms the Takfiri elements there and facilitates their safe passage into the violence-wracked country. Ankara has also been accused of buying smuggled oil from Daesh.

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict that has gripped Syria for over five years now. The UN has stopped its official casualty count in Syria, citing its inability to verify the figures that it receives from various sources.

Botched Security: ‘Turkish Passports’ Will Help Terrorists Go to Europe

May 18, 2016 By administrator

Turkish Terrorist visa free EuThe visa-free travel regime may help potential terrorists to enter Europe via Turkey, according to Sergey Goncharov, president of the Association of veterans of the anti-terrorist unit Alpha.

The Russian newspaper Izvestia quoted Sergey Goncharov, president of the Association of Veterans of Anti-Terror Units Alpha, as warning against the EU’s visa-free travel regime with Turkey which he said may help potential terrorists to gain access to Europe through Turkish territory.

His remarks came as the European Commission offered the Turks visa-free Schengen zone travel as part of an EU-Ankara deal which obliges Turkey to contain the flow of refugees to Europe in exchange for accelerating the country’s EU application process.

According to Goncharov, “the visa-free regime will inevitably create problems for the EU given the amount of young unemployed people with jihadist ideas who have gathered in Turkey.”

“As for the European intelligence agencies, they are unable to manage the large flow of people moving across the border, something that was confirmed by the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels [earlier this year],” he said.

Goncharov was echoed by Middle East expert Vladimir Avatkov who did not rule out that Ankara continuing to exert pressure on the EU to force Brussels to make concessions on the EU-Turkey migrant deal.

He recalled that Turkey had earlier used the Syrian refugees to pile pressure on the EU, with local special services reportedly providing them from other Arab countries with fake Syrian passports. This has led to a situation where both economic migrants as well as those fleeing the horrors of war are attempting to gain entry to Europe, according to Avatkov.

“Now, getting rid of unwanted persons will be even easier – it’s enough to give them citizenship. All illegal immigrants returning from Europe will either become grateful supporters of [Turkish President] Erdogan or they will again go to the EU but this time on Turkish passports. As a result, Europe’s problems will be further exacerbated,” he said.

Meanwhile, a European Commission report has warned that scrapping visa requirements for Turkey as part of the migration deal might raise the possibility of terrorist attacks in the European Union.

The UK newspaper The Telegraph quoted an extract from the report as saying that the proposed visa liberalization for Turkish travelers to the Schengen area could potentially impact the risk of terrorism in the EU as it would lift travel restrictions on terrorists which have Turkish citizenship.

In mid-March, the European Union and Ankara agreed on a deal under which Turkey pledged to take back all undocumented migrants who arrive in the European Union through its territory and exchange them for legal Syrian refugees currently residing in Turkey, on a one-for-one basis.

In return, the 28-member bloc pledged to accelerate Turkey’s EU accession bid and grant Turkish citizens visa-free travel within the Schengen area.

Turkey shelling supports terrorists Ahrar al-Sham and Al-Nusra ISIS: Syria

February 14, 2016 By administrator

Turkey and TerroristSyria has taken Turkey’s shelling of its territory to the UN, saying it amounts to “direct Turkish support for terrorist groups.”

In a letter on Sunday, the Syrian foreign ministry called on the UN Security Council to “put an end to the crimes of the Turkish regime.”

“The foreign ministry strongly condemns the repeated Turkish crimes and attacks against the Syrian people and Syria’s territorial integrity,” Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported.

Turkish forces continued to shell positions of Kurdish fighters of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo for a second day on Sunday.

According to Turkey’s Anadolou news agency, the Turkish army attacked PYD targets around the town of Azaz by its howitzers stationed on the country’s border with Syria. Similar bombing took place on Saturday.

Ankara accuses the PYD, and its military wing, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), of having links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militant group that has been fighting for an autonomous Kurdish region inside Turkey since the 1980s.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said after the Saturday attacks that Ankara “will retaliate against every step (by the YPG).”

“The YPG will immediately withdraw from Azaz and the surrounding area and will not go close to it again.”

Davutoglu also noted that Turkey “can if necessary take the same measures in Syria as we took in Iraq and Qandil,” referring to Turkey’s bombardment of PKK situations on Qandil mountain last year.

The Syrian government condemned Davutoglu comments as “blatant interference” in Syrian affairs.

Turkey: Two policemen, seven Daesh terrorists killed in Turkey: Sources

October 26, 2015 By administrator

Screen Shot 2015-10-26 at 7.51.21 AMTwo Turkish police forces and seven members of the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group have been killed in clashes in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakir, security sources say.

The development came early on Monday after police forces raided a dozen houses in the Kayapinar district of the mainly Kurdish province of Diyarbakir.

According to the sources, four policemen were injured and three militants were captured alive in the clashes.

Turkish security forces say they have extended operations to locate suspected Daesh cells following the October 10 twin blasts in the capital, Ankara, which killed more than 100 people.

The deadly explosions targeted activists who had gathered outside Ankara’s main train station for a peace rally organized by leftist and pro-Kurdish opposition groups. The Turkish government says 102 died in the bombings, but the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) puts the death toll at 128.

Following the blasts, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the attack may have been carried out by Daesh terrorists or Syria’s Kurdish fighters.

On October 19, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s office said in a statement that one of the bombers in the Ankara blasts had been identified as Yunus Emre Alagoz, the brother of Sheikh Abdurrahman Alagoz, who is believed to have been behind another attack in the southern Turkish town of Suruc on July 20. Over 30 people lost their lives in that blast.

Images captured by surveillance cameras had earlier shown Yunus Emre near the capital’s main train station, the site of the attack, before it took place.

The two brothers had joined Daesh terrorists in neighboring Syria and Iraq last year. They were both on a police wanted list, which has fueled suspicions of negligence on the part of the Turkish government.

Reports said the other attacker, Omer Deniz Dundar, had recently visited Syria twice.
