Armed people take hostages in Armenia’s capital

July 17, 2016 By administrator

Police HQOn Sunday morning a group of armed people burst into the headquarters of the patrol force regiment of Armenia’s Police and took hostages, threatening violence.

At the same time, their supporters are misinforming the public through social networks of an armed rebellion, Armenia’s National Security Service reports.

The National Security Service officially states that the disseminated information is false. Armenia’s government agencies are normally operating and law-enforcement agencies continue maintaining public order and protecting national security in conformity with law.

Talks with the armed people are in progress to persuade them into surrendering to Armenia’s authorities.
