Afrin Turkey’s Vietnam, Erdogan 3 Hour turn to 3 days now 3 weeks.

February 12, 2018 By administrator

Afrin Erdogan Vietnam

Afrin Erdogan Vietnam

YPG commander Manî Egîd believes that Afrin will become a second Vietnam for the Turkish state.

Within three hours, the Turkish state wanted to conquer Afrin with the help of recruited Islamists. Meanwhile, 23 days have passed and the second largest NATO army still hangs in the border area. YPG commander Manî Egid told ANF about the situation in Afrin:

“Afrin is being attacked from all sides, but the Turkish military has not made any real progress after more than three weeks. At the beginning it was said that Turkey would take Afrin within three hours. The three hours turned into three days and then a week. Today, however, is the 23rd day of resistance. Resistance is being mounted throughout Afrin. The comrades are in defensive positions. The second largest NATO army and its militia recruited by ISIS and el-Qaeda have not progressed.”

TECHNOLOGY AGAINST WILLPOWER

“The Turkish army and allied gangs are still in the border area. In some places they have penetrated three kilometers, at one point five kilometers. They succeeded only because of their technical capacity. To take a place, they use fighter jets, reconnaissance drones, grenade launchers and tanks. They trust in technology, we trust in our willpower.”

AFRIN MEANS DOWNFALL OF THE AKP

“Erdoğan embodies all fascist elements and wants to occupy Afrin. We consider this war a final. It will be over with the AKP if it fails in Afrin. It attacks the Kurds everywhere, but Afrin will mean their downfall. We will make Afrin a second Vietnam for the second largest NATO army.”

INVASION ATTEMPT BEFORE THE EYES OF THE WORLD PUBLIC

“The Turkish state is trying to occupy Afrin in the eyes of the world public. Here a people lives in its own land and another country arrives and wants to invade it. It is an invasion against which everyone should do something. We call on young people from all four parts of Kurdistan to join the resistance in Afrin. We will break the attacks of the Turkish army in Afrin.”

DEMOGRAPHY OF KURDISTAN IS INTENDED TO BE CHANGED

“The Turkish state says it wants to accommodate refugees from Syria in Afrin. So far, the Syrian refugees have always been used as a lever against Europe. Now they serve as justification for the occupation of Afrin. Erdoğan wants to massacre and drive out the population of Afrin, so that the militia of the ISIS and the Al-Qaeda, who are in bondage with him, can settle in Afrin with their families. He is not concerned with refugees. He wants to kill two birds with one stone. The demographics of Kurdistan is intended to be changed and the Kurdish achievements are intended to be obstructed. We will not allow that and we are prepared for it.”

PREPARED FOR OVER A YEAR OF RESISTANCE

“In the villages and districts of Afrin, we have made preparations that are sufficient for a period of over one year. In the city center, we are prepared for a much longer period of resistance. Should they come, they should advance a bit further, we will be waiting for them. They’ve been hanging around the border for over three weeks. As I said, we are prepared, logistically as well as militarily. “

EU expresses concerns over Turkey’s Invasion in Syria’s Afrin

EU expresses concerns

The European Union (EU) warned on Tuesday that Turkish military offensive against the Kurdish-controlled enclave of Afrin in the northern Syria could derail a political solution to the conflict in Syria.

“The Afrin offensive could have political consequences on the internal balances inside the future Syria at large and on the potential of political negotiations because the new escalation of violence can push away the chances for a political solution to the conflict,” said Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, according to Stockholmcf.org.

“We need to concentrate all of us in supporting the UN-lead negotiations in Geneva. The war in Syria is not over yet,” said Mogherini during a speech in the debate on current human rights situation in Turkey and the situation in Afrin at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

“We are deeply worried about the new front opened in Syria. We are worried first of all for humanitarian reasons. The people of Syria cannot afford a new front and a new crisis,” she said. Mogherini has also stressed that dialogue with Turkey today “is more important than ever,” and noted that “Turkey is facing enormous challenges.”

Turkish warplanes began striking Afrin on January 20, as dozens of civilians, including children and women, were reported to have been killed by air raids and shelling.

The campaign dubbed “Operation Olive Branch” by Turkish autocratic President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is meant to clear Syria’s Kurdish-held northwest district of People’s Protection Units (YPG) fighters who Turkey claims are an offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Ankara has labeled the US-backed Kurdish forces a “terrorist organization” and has been infuriated by Washington’s support for the YPG.

The US, which is backing the Kurds in the ongoing battle against ISIL in Syria, said it was concerned and has called on Turkey to limit its military offensive in the Kurdish region.

YPG Commander Hemo: 18 days paper tiger Turkish army has made no advance in Afrin

February 6, 2018 By administrator

YPG Commander General Sipan Hemo stated that the Turkish army has made no advances in Afrin despite its intensified attacks and has its eye on Aleppo.

General Commander of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat and stated that the Turkish army has made no advances in Afrin despite all the attacks it has carried out for 18 days now.

Hemo said; “Turkey is trying to crush the will of Kurdish people. Again, tactically, it wants to invade Afrin region and the villages to the east and west of Aleppo because Erdogan sees Aleppo as a part of the Ottoman Empire. Turkish forces have advanced only 500 meters in some locations and 3 km into the border line. This advance is no gain.”

Hemo said that 11 tanks of the Turkish army have been destroyed and many soldiers have been killed since the launch of the operation against Afrin.

YPG Commander General pointed out that Afrin and Shehba regions are receiving no military support amid intensified attacks, adding; “The missiles we use against the Turkish state in Afrin belong to neither America nor Russia. In this regard, America has announced several times that they have no relationship with Shehba and Afrin. Our forces are acting with the Coalition forces in the fight against ISIS only to the east of Euphrates.”

Syria: Afrin asks Russia to help halt Turkey’s invasion

February 5, 2018 By administrator

Stop Turkish invasion of Syria

Authorities in Afrin have called on global powers to halt Turkey’s invasion on the region as thousands of people take to the streets in the Syrian city in condemnation of Ankara’s incursion.

“We ask the Russian federation in particular to rescind its support for the Turkish state’s terrorism against the people of Afrin,” said Afrin’s local administration — the semi-autonomous government in power since 2013 – in a statement released on Sunday.

“It bears responsibility for the massacres the fascist Turkish state is carrying out against innocent civilians,” it added. The statement referred to Russia’s move of withdrawing its troops who were stationed in Afrin when Turkey launched its assault.

It also called on the United States, EU, United Nations Security Council and the US-led coalition to “immediately intervene to stop Turkey’s aggression.”

Turkey launched the so-called Operation Olive Branch in Syria’s Afrin on January 20 in a bid to eliminate the YPG, which Ankara views as a terror organization and the Syrian branch of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
