GLENDALE—The Armenian Relief Society of Western US Javakhk Fund Committee will host its annual Javakhk Gala Dinner on Saturday, March 22, at the Armenian Society of Los Angeles hall.
This, the 10th annual Gala will honor Nevart Mooradian, a dedicated member of the committee, who tirelessly has worked to enhance and improve the lives of Armenians in Javakhk.
The Armenian Relief Society is the sole Armenian non-governmental organization registered with the Georgian authorities to provide charitable and humanitarian assistance to Javakhk.
On a yearly basis, the ARS Javakhk Fund Committee undertakes various projects benefiting Javakhk Armenians. Alongside this fundraiser, coin banks are distributed each year to Armenian schoolchildren, who at an early age learn the importance of giving back and contributing to vital programs that benefit those in need. The ARS-WUSA region currently supports two youth centers in the districts of Akhalkalak and Akhaltskha in Javakhk, where Armenian youth are exposed to educational programs including instruction in language, music, and computer training.
The committee is inviting the community to attend the Gala and help support efforts to assist our Armenian brethren in Javakhk. The Gala will be held on March 22, at 7 p.m. at the Armenian Society of Los Angeles Center, 117 S. Louise St., in Glendale.
