A US film director who is now in Yerevan as part of a cultural program is organizing a free screening of American movies for Armenian spectators.
At a news conference on Monday, Jeanette Grillo said he planning to conduct also master classes for Armenian filmmakers.

Ambassador Richard Mills described the idea as a good opportunity  in terms of not only familiarizing the Armenian audience with the American culture and cinema art but also improving local movie-makers’ professional skills.

Noting that this year marks the 25th anniversary of US-Armenia relations, the ambassador said they are planning also a range of other events highlighting the importance of the two countries’ friendship.
The organizers are going to screen the movies in both capital Yerevan, and the second and third largest cities of Gyumri and Vanadzor.
Film critic Melik Karapetyan, Program Executive in Armenia, said that the movies are a means of showing American life in its different aspects. The entrance will be free.

Ms Jeanette Grillo, who said she is on her first – but not last – visit to Armenia, added that she has an honor to show her film in Armenia.
Her film is a story about an autistic child and, as a mother who felt the complications, shows her feelings by means of a movie.
