Turkey opposition CHP leader likens Turkish military intelligence (MİT) to Nazi Germany’s Gestapo

November 23, 2014 By administrator

197699_newsdetailHaving previously accused the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) of carrying out an operation to create dissent within the Republican People’s Party (CHP), CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu recently likened MİT to the Gestapo, Nazi Germany’s secret police, for its alleged plot against the CHP.

Speaking in the province of Erzurum on Saturday at his party’s regional meeting, Kılıçdaroğlu was asked about his previous statements accusing MİT of trying to divide the CHP on the basis of ideological differences. The party leader responded by saying MİT is serving the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) instead of the state.

“Those political parties come to power to govern the state, not to undermine it. But the AK Party has now turned into a state party. The state’s institutions, whose main tasks are to serve the state, do not follow the guidelines of the law. They serve the AK Party,” Kılıçdaroğlu said. Report Today Zaman

Turkey, Court should request Dink murder documents from military: Turkish intelligence

October 17, 2014 By administrator

ISTANBUL

n_73142_1Turkey’s national intelligence agency (MİT) has referred a court to the country’s top military body to learn whether intelligence documents related to the Hrant Dink murder were classified as a state secret. Hurriyet daily news report

Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was shot dead by then-17-year-old Ogün Samast in front of his Istanbul office on Jan. 19, 2007. Samast, who was sentenced to over 22 years in jail for the murder, is also on trial for being a member of a terrorist organization, as the alleged network behind the crime is yet to be revealed.

The latest trial session was held at the Istanbul 2nd Heavy Penal Court for Children on Oct. 17. The jailed Samast was not present in the courtroom and was represented by his lawyer.

The court had earlier twice asked the MİT about the “top-secret” and “secret” documents that the spy agency had sent to Parliament’s Coup Research Commission. The MİT did not give a clear answer whether the documents constitute a state secret, only stressing that they included “claims.”

The MİT answered the question more directly in the Oct. 17 session. “It would be appropriate to ask the General Staff whether the requested information was state secrets or not,” it said.

The Dink family’s lawyer, meanwhile, said the documents should be released. “The documents that the MİT sent to Parliament should be given to us too,” lawyer Hakan Bakırcıoğlu said.

VIDEO: Turkey Footage shows raid on Syria-bound MİT trucks

June 24, 2014 By administrator

New footage has emerged showing a raid, which took place last January in the southern province of Adana, on trucks belonging to the Turkish National Intelligence n_68208_1Organization (MİT) bound for Syria.

Since the raid, a court has accepted an indictment on spying charges against the 13 soldiers who stopped and searched the trucks.

Prosecutors have accused the soldiers of conducting spying activities against Turkey and the soldiers were also accused of wiretapping seven MİT members, as well as the family members of an eighth MİT officer.

The trucks were stopped on Jan. 19, causing an uproar with claims that the trucks were secretly carrying weapons to Syria. The government slammed the prosecutors and soldiers involved in the operation, arguing that both the truck and the personnel were protected by MİT’s legal immunity.

Interior Minister Efkan Ala said the truck was carrying aid to Turkmens in Syria, but did not provide any further details about its cargo.

France: New evidence in the case of three murdered Kurds

May 23, 2014 By administrator

A TRIPLE MURDER political right in Paris sponsored by the Turkish secret services? The scenario worthy of a spy movie, takes shape. Omer Güney, a Turkish speaking 31 arton100129-480x257years, is the only suspect in the shooting of three execution militant Kurdish separatists in a local association in January 2013. The survey, remained at a virtual standstill since his incarceration few days after the facts, coming off a boost. An anonymous sound recording reached in February at the anti-terrorism judge Jeanne Duye has been appraised. According to the conclusions of the experts, the voice of the man who describes in detail the murders to come is very likely that the indicted.

This document nine minutes, appeared on German and recovered by the Criminal Brigade Wharf Goldsmiths blog presents a conversation between two unidentified men but make no secret of their membership at MIT, the Turkish intelligence services. The first explains the second his “plan” to eliminate the three activists, including Sakine Cansiz, rising figure of the PKK, the Kurdish separatist party in war against the Turkish state. Problem of authenticity According to experts, the comparison between the voice of the man and the suspect detained “has led to far more likely outcome in the event of an identity of the voice […] rather than the assuming a difference of voice “. This progress is not synonymous investigation closed. “A large probability is not a certainty, besides current technologies make it easy to handle voice,” My retort Anne-Sophie Laguens and Xavier Nogueras, the Omer lawyers Güney. The two boards do not hesitate to question the “authenticity of this recording appeared at a key moment in the proceedings or just one year after the facts.” Order through CCTV footage showing the incoming and outgoing local at the time of the crime, Omer Güney, with a serious brain tumor has always protested his innocence and denied any link with the Turkish secret services. He is suspected of plotting an escape attempt in early May and has since been placed in an isolation of the Fresnes prison cell. Detention conditions “incompatible with his condition that is getting worse”, claim his lawyers have filed an appeal against this investment.
