It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially for the tennis superstar Serena Williams. Her beloved boyfriend Alexis Ohanian, American-Armenian internet entrepreneur, Reddit social news website co-founder, Alexis Ohanian has made a marriage proposal, and she said “yes” to him.

“I came home, a little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage awaited. Destination: Rome. To escort me to my very own “charming”, back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance. This time he made it not by chance but by choice. Down on one knee he said 4 words and I said yes”,- Women’s Tennis Association world No. 2 and 22 Grand Slam singles titleholder Serena posted on Reddit.

After the proposal Twitter users has started to discuss and congratulate the happy couple. Alexis has thanked everyone, especially his Armenian sisters and brothers.

“Thank you for all the kind words, esp from all my Armenian brothers & sisters debating when they can claim Serena as Armenian,” – Alexis posted on Twitter.

Temporary marriages (Mut’ah) in Islam are known under various names. The term Mut’ah means “profiting by, or taking pleasure of” in fixed-term “marriages.” It is distinguished from the non-fixed-term marriages. In laymen’s terms, the man takes a “temporary wife,” has sex with her, and does this knowing he will soon divorce her. We could say it is little better than having a girl friend. It simply legitimizes the sex act.

Although there are great theological differences between Shiites and Sunnis, none is more prominent than their differences on the concept of temporary marriages. This difference is also evident between one school of Shiites, those who hold the belief of the twelve infallible Imams [45] and the other Shiite schools of thought.
