SAN LUIS OBISPO – Assembly Member and Congressional Candidate Katcho Achadjian announced today that a new poll of voters along the Central Coast shows Katcho as the leading candidate in the race for the 24th Congressional District.
When asked if the primary election were tomorrow, 20% of voters responded they would vote for Katcho, with the next closest candidates being Democratic Mayor Helene Schneider and Democratic Supervisor Salud Carbajal, neck-and-neck at 12%, and all other candidates each with 7% or less.
Further, after voters learned more about Katcho, his lead among candidates for the 24th Congressional District widened even more to 29% over Schneider’s 12%, Carbajal’s 11%, and all other candidates each with 4% or less.
Katcho, a longtime resident of the Central Coast, has already received a number of endorsements from the community, including the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, the San Luis Obispo County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, the San Luis Obispo Cattlemen’s PAC, and the California Small Business Association. A small businessman and member of the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau since 1997, he has consistently focused on reducing regulations and unnecessary roadblocks while in the State Assembly.
Also during his time in the Assembly, Katcho authored a bill to protect victims of rape and frequently worked across the aisle as an independent voice to move past gridlock and find solutions for working families in California.
Prior to his election to the Assembly, Katcho served for three terms on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors.
Katcho Achadjian is the leading candidate in the race for the 24th Congressional District, which encompasses Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and part of Ventura County. Katcho has represented the residents of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties for more than a decade. He currently lives in San Luis Obispo with his family.
Moore Information, Inc. conducted a telephone poll of 405 likely primary voters in January 2016. Both landline and cellphone interviews were conducted with a margin of error at +/- 5% and a confidence level of 95%.
