WikiLeaks has released the 22nd batch of emails from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair, John Podesta.

To date, the whistleblowing site has released 36,190 emails, with around another 14,000 expected before Americans go to the polls on the November 8.

It was revealed in mails released on Friday that Podesta had been warned in March 2016 to change his email password “immediately” as someone had illegitimately attempted to gain access to his account.

Turkish donations:

In August 2015, Podesta forwards an email to finance director Dennis Cheng from Michael Werz from the Center for American Progress.

Werz alerts them of Turkish fundraisers donating to the campaign on behalf of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“Seems Erdogan faction is making substantial investments in U.S. to counter opposition (CHP, Kurds, Gulenists etc.) outreach to policymakers and USG [United States Government],” he says. “The Erdogan crew also tries to make inroads via donations to Democratic candidates, including yours. Two names that you should be aware of are *Mehmet Celebi* and *Ali Cinar*.”

In another email from March 2015, on the same day that the right-wing Likud Party, led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, won a surprise victory in national elections, Clinton adviser Neera Tanden told Podesta that “Israel is depressing.”

In an email to Podesta in February 2015 titled ‘Brock/Bonner,’ Clinton adviser Neera Tanden includes a link to a Washington Post article about donors delaying their pledges to pro-Clinton Super PACs until she announces her White House bid.

Although not mentioned in the article by name, Tanden describes major donors David Brock and Mary Pat Bonner as “a nightmare.”

“I’ll be telling mary pat later this week that we aren’t renewing her contract – wish me luck,” Tanden adds.

Referencing the article, Tanden also says that sometimes Bill and Hillary Clinton, “have the worst judgement.”

Her candidacy was just not meant to be

A September 2015 email from Hill columnist Brent Budowsky expresses his frustration at Clinton’s speech at a rally in Ohio during which she says she’s “guilty” of being “kinda moderate and center.”

Budowsky features heavily in the Podesta emails, offering advice and working to help the Clinton campaign, but this particular statement from Clinton shocks him. “I tripled fact-checked when I saw this reported on cable because I could not believe my eyes or ears,” he says.

Budowsky worries she will come off as insincere, given her previous statement which she feels could be seen as “insincere tilting left to be followed by a triangulating counter-tilt back the other way.”

“I must tell you, John, when I see things like this, there are moments when I think her candidacy was just not meant to be,” Budowsky says. “I went out on a limb for her today, which very few Democrats who are not paid by her have done recently as visibly and strongly as I did today, and if I knew this kind of thing was coming I would never have done it in a million years.”

Obama’s Citigroup options

In a October 2008 email, Citigroup executive Michael Froman emails Obama to discuss diversity in his cabinet, should he be elected president.

Attached to the email is a “list of African American, Latino and Asian American candidates, divided between Cabinet/Deputy and Under/Assistant/Deputy Assistant Secretary levels, as well as lists of senior Native Americans, Arab/Muslim Americans and Disabled Americans.”

A second list of women is also included. Peter Rouse, who would become Obama’s counselor and chief of staff, replies in agreement. “This should be a global decision-making process,” Rouse says.

Previous leaked Podesta emails revealed the extent of Citigroup’s influence in choosing Obama’s cabinet. The Citigroup executives were given an “outsized role in shaping and staffing his first term.”

The whistleblowing website Wikileaks has released a new batch of emails from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chief shedding light on why her team has been focusing so heavily on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The batch of emails includes a conversation between campaign leader John Podesta, and columnist and Clinton ally Brent Budowsk

In it, they discuss Clinton’s policy on fighting Islamic State and Budowski suggests that focusing on Putin’s alleged links to Donald Trump are a useful way of drawing attention away from that issue.

The writer warned that Clinton could be seen as not sufficiently tough when it comes to her views on the Middle East and that any deterioration in the situation there could cause her political setback.

RT: In one of the emails, columnist Brent Budowski writes: “Best approach is to slaughter Donald for his bromance with Putin, but not go too far betting on Putin regarding Syria.” What do you make of this?

Daniel Patrick Welch: I thought that was a little cryptic. I don’t know if he is warning her not to go too far against Putin. If that was the advice, she certainly hasn’t taken it. This has not only been a part of her campaign, it has basically been the center focus of her campaign, this horrible red-baiting that we haven’t seen since the days of Joe McCarthy. This kind of outflanking Trump on the right, kind of saying he is soft on the Russians and calling Putin a dictator.

The thing that is so cynical about this is that she knows she is lying. She is completely lying and she doesn’t care. And that’s what shows up in these emails is that this is a pure cynical, manipulative, political calculus; an attempt to gain favor with the electorate. And they could care less where the truth lies, which is why so many people despise her as a candidate, frankly.

RT: Do you think the heavy emphasis on Putin during the campaign and in the debates has actually helped Clinton? Or could it have backfired?

DW: There was a live-time tweeting of second-by-second popularity during the campaign and it showed a huge drop in people thinking that she was trustworthy (…) while she was in that diatribe, that horrific rant against Russia. I don’t know, I think she perceives that it is going to help her win the campaign. It is two-fold. She wants it to help win the campaign because she is such a bad candidate and she can’t be the buffoon like Trump except by red-baiting him. And she is also preparing, softening up her own population for her next war, which she has clearly decided has to be to keep the Russians in line. It is a very scary and dangerous tactic.

“We’ve seen a real pattern here begin to emerge throughout this election of attempting to deal with the WikiLeaks revelations, which are very damaging to Hillary Clinton – whether it is showing her emails, her statements to bankers, their dual strategy of telling the public one thing and telling the bankers another thing, her foundation. Instead of dealing and addressing and responding to these obvious WikiLeaks charges, what the Democrats are doing – trying to smear WikiLeaks and do that by allegedly tying Russia into manipulating WikiLeaks, which is ridiculous because Julian Assange that head WiliLeaks is sitting in a one-room apartment in the Ecuador Embassy in London. If the Russians were communicating with him, certainly the MI5 and other would be reporting that. So, there is no real evidence that the Russians are manipulating Wikileaks. But that allows the Democrats to expand this allegation that Putin and Trump are friends and because of that they divert the whole attention to Russia and Trump instead of addressing the Wikileaks’ revelations. This latest revelation shows pretty clearly that the plan all along was to do this. And also to bring in the back story to the Wikileaks and that is Syria. If Putin is friends with Trump, and Putin and Assad are getting an upper hand in Syria – which is driving the neocons crazy in the US right now – then you associate Putin and Syria with Trump and it makes Hillary look like she is more aggressive than even Trump on the ISIS in Syria.” – Jack Rasmus, professor of Political Economy at St. Mary’s College and Santa Clara University, CA

RT: Referring to a Clinton speech, Budowski writes: “walk back and escape from her statement that finally we are where we need to be against ISIS”. He goes on to say that if a terrorist attack happens, this could destroy her campaign. Do you think he’s right here? Is Clinton vulnerable on this point?

DW: I don’t see how. This is a woman who has overseen the destruction of Libya, she’s been Obama’s right hand in overthrowing government in Honduras, in Brazil, proxy war in Syria and Yemen, and who still has the gall to say that we need a more muscular foreign policy, apparently droning women and children in Pakistan isn’t muscular enough for these people. So, for some reason I don’t think it is a political favor, I think these are the warmongers and the weapons death-merchants who have financed her campaign. She needs to pay them back by giving them what they want, which is a never-ending perpetual war to keep US hegemony alive.

Hillary Clinton’s Wall Street Golden Girl, Three Speeches To Goldman Sachs Paid $675,000 exposed

One was delivered on June 4, 2013 at the 2013 IBD CEO Annual Conference at The Inn at Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, a second one took place on October 24, 2013 at the Goldman Sachs Asset Management AIMS Alternative Investment Symposium, and the last one was delivered on October 29, 2013 at the Goldman Sachs builders and innovators summit.

The speeches, in their entirety, were revealed for the first time in an email from Tony Carrk, research director at Hillary for America, in an email dated January 23, 2016, and disclosed to the public for the first time ever during today’s latest Wikileak of Podesta emails.

In the email, Carrk says:

The highlights Carrk refers to are the following:

In the first excerpt Hillary Clinton (rightfully) mocks Dodd Frank as nothing but a political contrivance which was created solely for political reasons as “there was also a need to do something because for political reasons.” To wit: “*Clinton Said, With Dodd-Frank, There Was “A Need To Do Something Because For Political Reasons” Because Members Of Congress “Can’t Sit Idly By And Do Nothing.”

“And with political people, again, I would say the same thing, you know, there was a lot of complaining about Dodd-Frank, but there was also a need to do something because for political reasons, if you were an elected member of Congress and people in your constituency were losing jobs and shutting businesses and everybody in the press is saying it’s all the fault of Wall Street, you can’t sit idly by and do nothing, but what you do is really important.” [GS2, 10/24/13]

In the second highlighted excerpt, Tim O’Neill, Global Co-Head of the Investment Management Division, thanks Hillary for her “continued involvement in the issues (inaudible) to be courageous in some respects to associated with Wall Street and this environment” and then thanks her “very much.”

I mean, if we’re going to be an effective, efficient economy, we need to have all part of that engine running well, and that includes Wall Street and Main Street. And there’s a big disconnect and a lot of confusion right now. So I’m not interested in, you know, turning the clock back or pointing fingers, but I am interested in trying to figure out how we come together to chart a better way forward and one that will restore confidence in, you know, small and medium-size businesses and consumers and begin to chip away at the unemployment rate. So it’s something that I, you know, if you’re a realist, you know that people have different roles to play in politics, economics, and this is an important role, but I do think that there has to be an understanding of how what happens here on Wall Street has such broad consequences not just for the domestic but the global economy, so more thought has to be given to the process and transactions and regulations so that we don’t kill or maim what works, but we concentrate on the most effective way of moving forward with the brainpower and the financial power that exists here.” [GS2, 10/24/13]

In a third noted excerpt, Clinton pitches the idea that the best regulation of Wall Street is self-regulation because “the people that know the industry better than anybody are the people who work in the industry.”

In a fourth excerpt, Hillary admits she had “great relations and worked so close together” with Wall Street and has “a lot of respect for the work you do and the people who do it.”

The fifth and final highlighted excerpt blames banks’ unwillingness to “do what they need to do” due to fear of regulations, the same regulations which in the same speech she said should be left to Wall Street.

Addtionally, as flagged by Reuters earlier, in the June 4 Goldman Sachs speech, Hillary warned Beijing it would “ring China with missile defense” unless it did more to rein in North Korea’s missile program.

Because they could not only do damage to our treaty allies, namely Japan and South Korea, but they could actually reach Hawaii and the west coast theoretically, and we’re going to ring China with missile defense. We’re going to put more of our fleet in the area.

Clinton told Goldman that the message to China had been, “You either control them, or we’re going to have to defend against them.” According to Reuters, the State Department on Friday declined to comment on “alleged leaked documents.” When asked whether such a message had been delivered to China, an official said it was not department policy to comment publicly on diplomatic discussions. Although Clinton’s reported comments raised a stir in Asia, Reuters adds.

Clinton said she also told her Chinese counterparts that the United States had as much a claim to the Pacific as China, given that U.S. forces had liberated it in World War Two.

China had “a right to assert themselves,” but the United States needed to “push back to create a balance” to prevent China taking a chokehold on sea lanes and countries bordering the South China Sea, she said.

The US’ 2016 presidential election resembles nothing so much as a reality show, Gilbert Mercier, a US-based French journalist, author and editor-in-chief of News Junkie Post, deems. However, to understand the underlying “forces” that drive today’s election one should look back into the US’ history. “Just like in the mafia crime families whose influence reached its apex between the 1920s and the late 1950s, to fade away in the late 1970s, the US rival political families are in many ways organized in clans with their own structure of don, capo, consigliere and hatchet men. The Rockefellers and Kennedys operated like this. Since the election of Reagan, the two dominating clans have been the Bushes and the Clintons,” Mercier suggested in his interview with Sputnik.

In his book “The Orwellian Empire” Mercier noted that the rise of George H.W. Bush — the founder of the Bush political dynasty — started in 1980 when he officially became Vice President to Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989.

Previously, Bush served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency between 1976 and 1977. “The Clinton dynasty came along in 1992,” the author wrote. After inking the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and reversing the Glass-Steagall Act, which separated commercial banking from investment banking, Bill Clinton “became a favorite of Wall Street’s investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs,” he pointed out. Interestingly enough, in his recent interview with Sputnik Canada-based political analyst Oussama El-Mohtar suggested that there appear to be a number of “policy centers” in Washington. The clashes of interests between them, according to the scholar, could have been behind the US’ inconsistent policy in Syria and the collapse of the US-Russian agreement. “That might have been the case, but the notion of ‘centers of power’ is getting more and more diffuse. It started with the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980 and has become increasingly monolithic,” Mercier noted, commenting on the issue. “In the early 1990s, their [the Bushes and the Clintons’] interests sometimes still clashed, but very quickly, as Bill Clinton became in Bush Sr.’s eyes ‘almost a son,’ their interests started to coincide almost always in an implicit agreement to pass the baton of power from one clan to another every four or eight years,” the journalist assumed.

Mercier argues that the year 1980 was the beginning of the end of the US as a republic with a two-party system.

“It is when the US became a full-fledged empire with two mafia-type dynasties taking turns in power,” he suggested. “John Kerry was part of the Kennedy clan, and for this reason a bit of an outsider. Informed observers hoped that he would offer an alternative and challenge Hillary Clinton during the primary. He had the intelligence, the poise and the credentials to do so; however, he made the choice to join the Clinton clan instead,” Mercier told Sputnik. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that George H.W. Bush, his daughter-in-law Laura Bush and his granddaughter Lauren Bush Lauren, signaled that they will most likely vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. “Former President George H.W. Bush said Monday that he will vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to sources close to the 41st President — an extraordinary rebuke of his own party’s nominee,” CNN reported on September 21. For his part, Michael A. Cohen of The Boston Globe highlighted that “for a former Republican president, the father of a two-term Republican president, the son of a Republican senator, and Ronald Reagan’s vice president, to vote for a Democratic candidate for president is extraordinary.”

Remarkably, on October 12 The Hill reported that 12 former Republican officials who served top roles in President George W. Bush’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) claimed that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump “is not qualified to hold the office.”

It looks as if the two powerful political clans do not want an “outsider” to come out on top. “The two leading political clans are not in conflict at all. In their power sharing agreement everybody gets a very nice share of the pie,” Mercier explained, “It has worked well for the Bushes under Clintonite Obama, and of course ‘Empress Hillary’ would maintain the status quo.” “This form of government is corrupt to its core, and this is why somebody like Trump appeals to anti-establishment voters. People are fed up. They do not precisely know what they want, but they are certain that the system is rigged and are ready to reject it,” the journalist stressed. 12/4/2015 – NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. — Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, elementary-age children of Department of Defense employees will have the option of attending an on-base public charter school.

Lomie G. Heard Elementary School, the current on-base school which was constructed on Nellis Air Force Base in 1951, will no longer be part of the Clark County School District (CCSD) at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

CCSD leases the land on Nellis AFB where Lomie G. Heard is located. The lease will expire at the end of the current school year and the U.S. Air Force is currently in negotiations with Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas to bring a public charter school on base.

“Nellis Air Force Base and the CCSD have had a long and mutually-beneficial relationship,” said Col. Richard Boutwell, 99th Air Base Wing commander. “Lomie G. Heard Elementary School and their wonderful staff have inspired multiple generations of military children and laid the foundation for their futures.

“We had a unique opportunity to partner with an established Nevada public charter school — Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas — that not only brings a great academic program, but plans to build a new kindergarten through eighth grade school at no cost to the Air Force,” Boutwell said. “The facility will be within the Landings Housing complex and is expected to be ready for use starting in the 2018 academic year. A new school is simply something neither the U.S. Air Force nor CCSD could realistically expect to be able to do in the foreseeable future. This really is a great opportunity for our children.”

CASLV, which will be free for students to attend, plans to temporarily operate out of the Lomie G. Heard facility while construction of the new permanent campus is built.

Prospective students will need to register for the new school before they can attend classes there. The Clark County School District Attendance Zone Advisory Committee has proposed rezoning current Lomie G. Heard students to attend Zel and Mary Lowman or J.E. Manch Elementary Schools just outside the Landings Gate on Craig Road. The school board will meet in February to finalize the proposal. Parents can have their children bused to one of these schools by CCSD or elect to have them attend a private school, homeschool, public charter, or magnet school of their choosing.

“This gives our military families more choices, and ultimately, more control,” said Carol Padilla, 99th Force Support Squadron school liaison officer. “This has been a lot of work for a lot of people, but I am excited about a new school.”

The new school is planning to accommodate 600 students from kindergarten through fifth grade in the existing Lomie G. Heard facility, but will expand to 800 students from kindergarten through eighth grade once the new facility is completed. CASLV also operates four other campuses in the Las Vegas Area.

Per recent changes in Nevada legislation, dependent children of DOD personnel will have priority in enrolling in the new school — active duty, then government employees. If there are not enough students from Nellis AFB personnel to fill the seats, the school will offer the remaining positions to non-DOD-affiliated students. If the non-DOD-affiliated students are accepted to the school, their parent(s) or guardian(s) will have to pass the standard background check to be granted base access.

“The leadership team here has taken into account many factors and concerns expressed by parents over the past few years and is working with CCSD and a contractor to put your children in the best position possible to continue receiving a high-quality education,” Boutwell said. “I’m thankful for everything the CCSD has provided our families and will continue to provide them as we transition in the upcoming months.

“While everything is moving along well, we are in the final negotiations for the long-term lease that will enable the new facility to be built,” Boutwell said.

The 99th ABW will be holding a school town hall meeting for parents and guardians at the Nellis Base Theater, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. CASLV is planning to give a short presentation on what their program will offer.
