The House of Representative of the Chilean Parliament adopted a resolution on the Armenian Genocide. The Resolution N 324 received 78 votes in favor, 1 vote against, still 3 votes abstaining.
The resolution mentions about the solidarity to the Armenian nation and condemns the 1915 Armenian Genocide.
In fact, the Chilean Parliament has no member of Armenian descent.
The only Muslim MP Fuad Chahin, who is Palestinian by descent, also voted in favor.
The Senate, which is the upper house of Chilean Parliament, adopted a resolution on the Armenian Genocide on 5 June 2007.
YEREVAN. – April 23 to 26 will be non-working days in Armenia.
The respective draft law was adopted during special Cabinet meeting on Saturday.
“This is due to the Armenian Genocide victims’ canonization ceremony, which is slated for April 23,” said the Government Chief of Staff-Minister, Davit Harutyunyan.

3. The Armenian people were the first culture in the world to adopt Christianity as the official state religion after two of Jesus’ apostles, St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew, travel through the region soon after Jesus’ death.
4. They discovered wine (sorry, France!). Back in 2011, scientists concluded that the real birthplace of wine may have been in a cave in Armenia. Archaeologist called the cave the “oldest” winery ever dating back over 6,000 years.
5. Wine isn’t Armenia’s only contribution to the world. They were also among the first to invent yogurt and coffee.
6. In 1915, 1.5 million Armenians were murdered in the Ottoman Empire in what is now known as the Armenian Genocide. Turkey, the successor state of the Ottoman Empire, denies the historical event. The 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be honored on April 24.
7. Armenians celebrate Christmas on Jan. 6, the original date of the Christian holiday.
8. Armenians love to dance (especially a type of line dance) and call dancing “keff time,” which means party time.
9. Cheese boregs are a traditional Armenian dish made of feta cheese wrapped in filo dough and baked until golden brown.
10. The word for beautiful in Armenian is “siroon” (pronounced “SEE-ROON).

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got the full diplomat treatment as they arrived in Armenia to the cheers of an enormous crowd and tons of media.
Although their trip is just days short of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Kim says she simply wants to get in touch with her Armenian roots.
North and Khloe were also there — as they were greeted by women in traditional Armenian garb, who presented the fam with bread and salt … a tradition for greeting dignitaries. They all left the airport together in a minivan.
They plan to visit the genocide monument, museums, meet with politicians and they will reportedly go to the town of Gyumri … where relatives of her dad may live.

YEREVAN. – NEWS.am STYLE has ascertained details about famous American Armenian TV personality Kim Kardashian’s forthcoming visit to Armenia.
We have learned that Kardashian will arrive in Armenia in the coming weeks, and stay in the country for about a week. First, however, the members of her staff—comprising several dozens of people—will come to Armenia, and make preparations for the Kardashian sisters’ visit to the country.
We also have learned that Kim Kardashian and her staff will stay at a luxury capital city Yerevan hotel, where they already have booked all the rooms of two floors.
Also in the lead-up to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, the National Archives of Armenia (NAA) is preparing a databank comprising the names of the genocide victims. And reflecting in the recent Daily Mail information with respect to the forebears of famous American Armenian television personality Kim Kardashian, Amatuni Virabyan noted that the Kardashian family had two branches.
“One part lived in the Kars Province [in modern-day Turkey]; they were Protestants. People used to call them Molokan; Armenian Molokans. And the other part, [lived] in [the] Erzurum [Province in modern-day Turkey]. “We found the Kardashians’ traces in Karakale village of the Kars Province. Their family moved to America before the Genocide, but the others, who stayed and survived the slaughter, found shelter in [Armenia’s] Gyumri [city], which at the time was called Alexandropol.
“There are Kardashians in Gyumri, who are the distant relatives of the famous Kardashians. Their representatives were here [, in Armenia]. They are shooting a film now; they need to come here again, and I will read, show them those Karakale documents,” Virabyan noted.
President of Turkey said Armenia had fixed April 24 date to coincide with the anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli.
In an interview with France 24 television, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli Battles and “we are in no position to obtain permission from Armenia”.
“It is a date in history and it has nothing to do with the ceremonies in Armenia. Quite on the contrary, they fixed their ceremonies to coincide with our date,” Erdogan said.
Speaking about problems between Armenia and Turkey, he said it was Ankara that always “took a positive step”and “extended our hand in peace”.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a state visit to China, on Wednesday met with President Xi Jinping.
At the end of the meeting, and as a result of the talks, the two presidents signed a joint declaration on further development and deepening of Armenia-China friendly relations of cooperation.
The parties also signed more than a dozen documents with respect to the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in several domains.
Prior to his talk with Xi Jinping, however, President Sargsyan was hosted by the Beijing No.2 High School. This learning institution is considered one of the largest and technically best-equipped schools in the Chinese capital city, and it also engaged in international cooperation projects, including student exchange programs with a number of countries.
The Armenian President toured the learning facility and, subsequently, signed the school guestbook.
“I am confident that our two peoples, which have a millennia-old history, will develop and strengthen their ties and cooperation in a climate of friendship and peace,” Serzh Sargsyan specifically wrote in the guestbook.
