At the moment, there is a gathering in at the government mansion of Armenia, Hraparak.am writes.

PM Nikol Pashinyan has called all ruling My Step bloc officials and the members of board of the ruling Civil Contract Party to his mansion.

Lately, he gathers his political team often, probably to sense what they are thinking, and to keep them under his control because everyone, including Pashinyan, know very well that the greatest danger to his tenure is expected from the 80 My Step MPs, and if they reach a joint decision, his dismissal may become a matter of days.

That is why he has put aside his previous disagreements and does not speak harshly with the My Step lawmakers; on the contrary, he tries to maintain friendly relations with everyone and agree with them in many issues.

Units from the Royal Saudi Air Force have arrived in the Greek island of Crete ahead of the Falcon Eye 1 drill maneuvers exercises set to be carried out during this month.

The Saudi Air Force and its Greek counterpart will conduct air sorties and joint exercises in the sky of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Air Force group was received by Saudi Ambassador in the Greek capital Dr. Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Ammar, Commander of the Air Force group taking part in the drill Col. Pilot Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Shihri and Military Liaison Officer at the Saudi Embassy in Athens Lt. Col. Rashid bin Abdulaziz Al-Oubudi.

“We completed the arrival all the crews joining these exercises from the Royal Saudi Air Force for the Falcon Eye 1 to be held here at the Greek island of Crete. The aim of these is to increase cooperation with our Greek counterparts, exchange experiences between the two sides and test out our combat readiness,” Col. Pilot Abdulrahman Al-Shihri told Al Arabiya.

Turkey invaded Cyprus on July 20, 1974, and has not looked back. While Turks may say they did so to protect Cyprus’ Turkish minority, Greece’s return to democracy made any Greek plans to unite with Cyprus moot. Turkey’s subsequent second invasion in August 1974 was nothing less than a land grab followed by methodical ethnic cleansing. Today, there are as many displaced Cypriots than there are displaced Palestinians.

Cyprus is, of course, not alone: Turkey has also grabbed territory and conducted ethnic cleansing in both Syria and Iraq.

The crisis in Cyprus has long been a forgotten and largely frozen conflict. U.N. officials and other diplomats occasionally hosted talks, but the reluctance of one side or another to change the status quo ultimately doomed each round. In 1983, the Turkish-backed government in Northern Cyprus declared its independence, a move no other country but Turkey recognized. 

In short, this means that not only the European Union and NATO, but also Turkey’s closest allies such as Somalia, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia, as well as every single other UN member rejects Turkey’s claims to territorial waters around Cyprus and by extension recognizes that the entirety of Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone belongs to the recognized Cypriot government in Nicosia rather than the so-called Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

By sending ships into Cypriot waters to drill for oil and gas, Turkey is simply seeking to steal Cypriot resources for its own use. For all of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s anti-colonial rhetoric, he now presides over the most flagrant example of 21st century imperial exploitation.

The question then becomes, what will Europe do about it?

No one wants war with Turkey, an attitude that Erdoğan counts upon as he embraces ever more resources. But, with every day, week, and month that pass once Turkey finds and begins exploiting Eastern Mediterranean energy, ever greater amounts of Cypriot resources will be stolen.

Perhaps it’s time then that European countries and others seeking to reinforce the rule of law target Turkey’s own bank balance.

Erdoğan has made the state-owned Turkish Air the flagship of his own ambitions. State media brag about the airline’s ever-increasing reach, and Erdoğan recently inaugurated a major new airport outside Istanbul to accommodate greater Turkish air traffic. (The airline apparently also supports more covert operations for Erdoğan, such as illegally transporting Turkish weaponry). Of course, the airline also supports Turkey’s economically important tourism industry.

Perhaps, then, the European Union and the United States could respond to Turkish provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean by denying Turkish Air landing rights. Let the airline fly to Somalia, Sudan, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, but there is no reason why European countries should support Turkey’s economy at a time when Erdoğan seeks to supplement it with theft.

Diplomatic hand-wringing on Cyprus has not resolved the problem for 45 years, and there’s no reason to suspect finger-wagging will be enough to do so now. It’s time the European Union and those committed to the post-World War II liberal order do more to show Erdoğan that the world has had enough of Turkey’s pillaging. If Turkey’s new airport loses traffic and if beach resorts in Turkey and Turkish-occupied Cyprus go vacant, so be it. The solution is simple: Withdraw Turkey’s ships and end Turkey’s illegal occupation.

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Hundreds of opposition supporters surrounded government buildings in Armenia’s capital on Saturday to push for the resignation of the country’s prime minister.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has faced demands to step down since Armenia suffered a humiliating defeat last year in an armed conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, a territory within Azerbaijan that Armenia-backed separatists controlled for more than 25 years.

Demonstrators shouting “Nikol you traitor!” and “Nikol go away!” surrounded the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters where Pashinyan had a meeting on Saturday. Later in the day, they ringed the residence of the country’s mostly ceremonial president, Armen Sarkissian, when Pashinyan went there for talks on ending the political crisis.

Pashinyan has defended a November peace deal that ended the six weeks of fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh as the only way to prevent Azerbaijan from overrunning the entire region.

Tensions spiked last month when the military’s General Staff demanded Pashinyan’s resignation. The prime minister responded by firing the country’s highest military officer, who appealed his dismissal in court.

Pashinyan has offered to hold an early parliamentary election later this year but staunchly rejected the opposition’s demand for him to step down before the vote. The 45-year-old former journalist has retained significant public backing despite the defeat in Nagorno-Karabakh, with thousands rallying in his support to counter the opposition-led pressure for his resignation.

President Sarkissian sought to play mediator by offering to host a meeting between Pashinyan and his political foes, but he had to call it off after the opposition said it would only accept a meeting to discuss the prime minister’s resignation.

More than 6,000 people were killed in the fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh, which lies within Azerbaijan but was under the control of ethnic Armenian forces backed by Armenia since a separatist war there ended in 1994.

The Russia-brokered peace deal let Azerbaijan reclaim control over large parts of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas.

Khojaly is landlocked between the capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), Stepanakert and the city of Askeran.

In the course of the policy pursued by the head of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic (AzSSR), then president Heydar Aliyev deprived the native Armenian population of Khojaly.

He did this by populating the NKR with Azerbaijanis and Meskhetian Turks.

As a result of this policy, by the end of the 1980s, the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh faced a precipitous decline in population.

Since the beginning of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, residential districts of Stepanakert had been subjected to constant rocket and artillery attacks from neighbouring Azerbaijani-populated localities, including Khojaly.

As a result of the heavy bombardments, Stepanakert was completely cut-off from the world, became an easy target and the peaceful population was fated to starvation.

Naturally, after the wrecking of the firing points located in the villages of Krkzhan and Malibeyli, the question arose about suppressing firing points in Khojaly, which began late in the evening on February 25, 1992.

Some residents left the occupied city, but the Azerbaijani side did not organise a complete evacuation of the civilian population, despite the requests of the head of the executive power of Khojaly, Elman Mammadov.

According to Ramiz Fataliev, the head of the Commission for the investigation of the events in Khojaly, the residents of the village were deliberately left in the blocked city and were not evacuated by authorities in Baku.

“It was believed that if we evacuated the population, we would provoke the Armenians to attack,” he said.

The Armenian side via radio and loudspeaker informed Khojaly’s authorities in advance about the upcoming actions of destroying the firing points.

They were called upon to immediately and completely evacuate the civilian population from the city through humanitarian corridors.

The existence of the corridor is also indicated by the words Mammadov published in the “Russian Thought” newspaper on 03.04.1992:

“We knew that this corridor is intended for the exit of civilians…,” he wrote.

Evidence that the corridor was not a trap, is the fact that Mammadov, who was responsible for the organised evacuation of the civilian population via the provided corridor reached Aghdam unscathed.

Later, he became a member of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Corpses of Khojaly residents were found several hundred meters away from Azerbaijani positions in Aghdam, as told by Azerbaijani journalist Chingiz Mustafayev, who later died.

He said:

“More than 50 bodies were scattered at a distance of 700 meters from our post.

“In the footage taken from above, it remained a mystery to me that 10 of our citizens were walking among the corpses.

“They were from Aghdam, in military uniforms.

“And the six of us stayed there and spent 45 minutes shooting… ”

The footage of the second shooting taken by Mustafayev was when he was with a group of foreign journalists and it showed corpses that were disturbed.

However, the same corpses on the previous shooting of Mustafayev on February 28 did not have such signs.

It should be noted that Mustafayev, one of the main eyewitnesses of the event, died four months later of blood loss caused by shrapnel.

After a few months, Mustafayev was treacherously killed at the same location.

The majority of civilians left Khojaly, except 200-300 people who hid in their homes and basements.

Those who lost their way and went to the mountains, were sent to Askeran.

After a couple of days, those who remained in the village, along with those who were sent back to Askeran, were surrendered to the Azerbaijani side without preconditions

Later on, Azerbaijani propaganda began to speculate on the topic of “prisoners”, but could not provide any facts of abuse and violence against them.

In addition, it is known that the Azerbaijani side refused to take back its citizens during the negotiations.

In April 1992, the First President of Azerbaijan, Ayaz Mutalibov, gave an interview to “Nezavisimaya Gazeta,” and said that all these events had been organised in order to force him to resign, which he did shortly after.

Afterwards, to save his life, Mutalibov was also forced to leave Azerbaijan and only able to return in 2012 – the year after disowning and repudiating his own words.

Nowadays, as evidence illustrating the “Armenian atrocities”, Azerbaijani propaganda uses photos and videos that show the bodies of people who died under different circumstances in different countries.

Photos of earthquakes, among others, were illustrated as “Armenian atrocities.”

The only thing that the Baku propaganda machine did not take into account was that journalist Chingiz Mustafayev quickly found himself at the scene of the death of people.

He took pictures that fully revealed the attempts to falsify and impose responsibility for what happened on the Armenian side.

The organisers of the Khojaly events of this campaign pursued two goals at the same time:

• the overthrow of the Mutalibov regime, and
• the formation of a negative image of Armenians in the eyes of the international community, which continues to be the most violent at the present time.

The conclusion of the report by Rachel Denber for the Helsinki group states that the Azerbaijani military used civilians as human shields, many of whom died during combat.

In the Denber report, Namig Aliyev, an official of the Azerbaijani government, provided a list with the names of the dead civilians.

There are 133 people in total, 41 of them women and 13 children, and this number differs from the list of 613 people presented later.

The Azerbaijani side does not explain where the number 613 came from.

According to “Human Right Watch”, the number of victims of the event is estimated at 200-300 people.

names of people who died before the conflict or were found in a completely different place were found.

The revision of the name list demonstrates the baselessness of the claims about 613 people who died.

It is obvious that the artificial increase in the death toll is aimed at giving more resonance to the events in order to label the alleged committed Armenian side as “genocide.”

It is obvious that the events in Khojaly cannot be considered genocide since they do not correspond to the definition of genocide given by the “Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide” of the UN General Assembly.

We would like to emphasise that the Armenian armed groups had no intention of killing civilians.

After the dismantling of a monument devoted to the “victims of the Khojaly genocide” in the Mexican capital, Professor Rodrigo Gomez believes that the actions to recognize the events in Khojaly as genocide are an example of “caviar diplomacy.”

Baku tries to distort historical facts, incite hatred against Armenians, and deny the fact of a monstrous and unprecedented scale of a real genocide in the history of mankind – the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

The Armenian Genocide was organised by Turkey, in which Azerbaijan has close allied relations.

“Azerbaijan’s actions are following the government’s strategy to distort facts about Khojaly, using various forums and caring for deputies who are not knowledgeable about the Karabakh conflict, in order to adopt a resolution favorable to Azerbaijan,” he said.

“In addition, 10,000 Armenians became victims of the Karabakh conflict, many of whom died in the course of the pogroms provoked by the government of Azerbaijan”, noted Gomez.

The Zhokhovurd newspaper learned that to date, about 1,500 criminal cases related to the Artsakh war have been initiated, which are being investigated in the divisions of the Main Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, in which more than 12,500 people are involved.

“Moreover, about 180 servicemen were detained in these criminal cases, more than 500 people were brought to justice. Twelve commanders were prosecuted, including two high-ranking officers.”

LOS ANGELES – Presented by Councilmember Paul Krekorian and seconded by Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously adopted a resolution reaffirming the support of the City of Los Angeles towards the people of the Republic of Artsakh. The resolution notes that “the City of Los Angeles has a long record of standing in support and friendship with the people of the Republic of Artsakh (formerly known as Nagorno-Karabagh), who are ethnically and culturally Armenian and indigenous to the region, and who courageously declared their independence from the Soviet Union and the Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan over thirty years ago and have enjoyed democratic self-governance ever since.

The historic struggle of the people of Artsakh, including the 1991-94 war, is similar to the struggle of all peoples who created a democratic state/nation, that adhere to the values of liberty and self-determination through free and fair elections, including the United States of America.”The resolution refers to an earlier document officially adopted by the Los Angeles City Council in September 2013, according to which the Republic of Artsakh was recognized as a free, independent and sovereign state. It also refers to the resolution adopted in December 2020, where “the Los Angeles City Council reaffirmed the City’s commitment to uplifting and supporting the struggle of the Republic of Artsakh and its people for self-determination, and called upon the United States federal government to do likewise.”  “On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan’s military forces launched a much more massive unprovoked attack against the Republic of Artsakh, coordinated with and supported by Turkey, utterly shredding the 30-year ceasefire and resuming full scale warfare targeted at destroying and ethnically cleansing the indigenous Armenian population and conquering by force the territory of the independent Republic of Artsakh,” stated the resolution. It also confirms that “throughout its unprovoked invasion, Azerbaijan intentionally targeted civilian areas throughout Artsakh with lethal attacks using heavy weaponry including drones, rockets and heavy artillery, leading to widespread and indiscriminate death and destruction and the displacement of much of the population of Artsakh.”

“Azerbaijan’s military and the terrorist mercenaries it hired have committed horrendous war crimes and atrocities, including the murder, torture, and dismemberment of civilians and prisoners of war, the desecration of places of worship and sacred and historic sites, and the wanton destruction of civilian infrastructure,” noted by the Los Angeles City Councilmembers.The resolution also affirms that “throughout the brutal invasion, Azerbaijan terrorized civilians by targeting them with munitions that are widely banned and condemned by the international community, including cluster bombs and white phosphorus.” The resolution further states that “major combat operations ended on November 9, 2020, although Azerbaijan’s forces have continued to engage in violence, aggression and cruelty even after that date.”“Therefore, be it resolved that by the adoption of this resolution the City of Los Angeles honors and mourns the thousands of lives lost in this attack, and declares November 9, 2020 a day of remembrance and commemoration of the victims of Azerbaijan’s aggression against the Republic of Artsakh,” states the resolution in its conclusion.Simultaneously, the Los Angeles City Council adopted another resolution that relates to the city of Shushi. As it is known, on April 24, 2012, the City Council of Los Angeles recognized the city of Shushi, under the governance of the Republic of Artsakh, as a “Friendship City” of the City of Los Angeles. In the new resolution it is mentioned that

“the city of Shushi has been the cultural heart of Artsakh for centuries, and holds extraordinary significance to Armenians throughout the world.”As a result of the Azerbaijani launched large-scale military attack on the Republic of Artsakh on September 27 without warning or provocation, thousands of deaths and the destruction of centuries-old historic and cultural assets occurred. “Having been abandoned by the international community, and facing an existential threat to Artsakh and the very real potential for another genocide of the Armenian people, Armenia signed a cease-fire statement brokered by Russia that allows Azerbaijan to control much of Artsakh, specifically including the city of Shushi,” says the resolution. Therefore, “the City of Los Angeles does hereby temporarily suspend its “Friendship City” relationship with Shushi for as long as it is illegally controlled by Azerbaijan, and will renew that status when Shushi is again free of Azeri conquest and oppression and restored to democratic governance as part of the Republic of Artsakh.”Lastly, “the City Council of Los Angeles extends its warm greetings, support and best wishes for safety and security to Shushi’s Mayor Artsvik Sargsyan and the entire democratically elected leadership of Shushi, and the City Council further looks forward to the day that Shushi is once again liberated from Azeri occupation.”

ԼՈՍ ԱՆՋԵԼԵՍ – Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային խորհուրդը՝ խորհրդի անդամ Փոլ Կրեկորյանի առաջարկությամբ և Միթչ Օ՛Ֆարելի աջակցությամբ, միաձայն բանաձև է ընդունել, որով վերահաստատում են Լոս Անջելես քաղաքի աջակցությունը Արցախի Հանրապետության ժողովրդին։ Բանաձևում նշվում է․ «Լոս Անջելես քաղաքը մշտապես աջակցել է Արցախի Հանրապետության (նախկինում՝ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետություն) էթնիկ և մշակութային առումներով տարածաշրջանում բնիկ հայ ժողովրդին, որը քաջաբար հռչակեց իր անկախությունը Խորհրդային Միությունից և Խորհրդային Ադրբեջանից 30-ից ավելի տարի առաջ և բռնեց ժողովրդավարության ճանապարհը։ Արցախի ժողովրդի պատմական պայքարը, ներառյալ 1991-94թթ․ հաղթանակով պսակված անկախության համար պատերազմը, նման է ժողովրդավարական պետություն կերտած բոլոր ժողովուրդների պայքարին, որոնք ձգտել են ժողովրդավարական պետություններ ստեղծել՝ ազատ ընտրությունների ճանապահով ազատության և ինքնորոշման արժեքներ որդեգրած, ներառյալ ԱՄՆ-ի հիմնադիրները»։Բանաձևում հղում է արվում 2013 թվականին Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային խորհրդի կողմից պաշտոնապես միաձայն ընդունված փաստաթղթին, որով Արցախի Հանրապետությունը ճանաչվեց՝ իբրև ազատ, անկախ և ինքնիշխան պետություն։ Նույն փաստաթղթում Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային իշխանությունը վերահաստատում է 2020 թվականի դեկտեմբերին ընդունած փաստաթուղթը, որում նշվում է, որ « Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային խորհուրդը վերահաստատում է նվիրվածությունը Արցախի Հանրապետության պայքարին աջակցելու առաքելությանը և նրա ժողովրդի ինքնորոշմանը՝ կոչ անելով նաև ԱՄՆ դաշնային իշխանությանը հետևել իր օրինակին»։«2020 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 27-ի առավոտյան, Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերը, շփման գծի ամբողջ երկայնքով, լայնածավալ ռազմական հարձակում սկսեցին Արցախի Հանրապետության նկատմամբ՝ Թուրքիայի աջակցությամբ՝ խախտելով 30 տարվա զինադադարը և վերսկսելով լայնածավալ պատերազմ՝ թիրախավորելով և էթնիկ զտման ենթարկելով հայ ժողովրդին և բռնազավթելով Արցախի Հանրապետության տարածքները», նշված է փաստաթղթում։ Բանաձևում փաստվում է նաև, որ ռազմական հարձակման ընթացքում Ադրբեջանական զինուժը նպատակային թիրախավորում էր Արցախի խաղաղ բնակավայրերը՝ մահացու հարվածներ հասցնելով թռչող անօդաչու սարքերով, հրթիռներով, ծանր զրահատեխնիկայով, ինչը հանգեցրեց անմեղ զոհերի և ավերածությունների, ինչպես նաև արցախցիների մեծ մասի տեղահանմանը։ «Ադրբեջանական զինուժը և նրանց վարձած ահաբեկիչները սարսափելի ոճրագործություններ են իրականացրել՝ ներառյալ սպանություն, անդամահատում, կտտանք խաղաղ բնակչության և ռազմագերիների նկատմամբ, պղծել են սրբավայրեր և պատմամշակութային կոթողներ, ինչպես նաև՝ քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքների ոչնչացում», արձանագրել են Լոս Անջելեսի քաղխորհրդի անդամները։Բանաձևում ասվում է նաև, որ խաղաղ բնակչությանն ահաբեկելու համար Ադրբեջանը կիրառել է կասետային ռումբեր և միջազգային հանրության կողմից արգելված այլ զինատեսակներ, այդ թվում՝ սպիտակ ֆոսֆոր։  «Լայնածավալ ռազմական գործողություններն ավարտվեցին 2020 թվականի նոյեմբերի 9-ին, այդուհանդերձ,  Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերը շարունակում էին վայրագությունները, ագրեսիան, դաժանությունները անգամ այդ օրվանից հետո», նշված է փաստաթղթում։Միաձայն ընդունված հռչակագրում Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային իշխանությունը «հարգելով հարձակմանը զոհ գնացած հազարավոր նահանտակներին և խոնարհվելով նրանց հիշատակի առաջ, նոյեմբերի 9-ը հռչակում է Արցախի Հանրապետության նկատմամբ Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիային զոհ գնացած հազարավոր հայերի հիշատակի օր»։Նույն օրը Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային խորհուրդը մեկ այլ բանաձև է ընդունել՝ կապված Շուշիի հետ։ Ինչպես հայտնի է, դեռևս 2012 թվականի Ապրիլի 24-ին Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային իշխանությունը Շուշին հռչակել էր «բարեկամ քաղաք»։ Նույն բանաձևում նշվում է, որ «Արցախի մշակութային սիրտը՝ դարավոր Շուշին, մեծ կարևորություն ունի աշխարհասփյուռ հայերի համար»։Սեպտեմբերի 27-ին Արցախի Հանրապետության դեմ Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած լայնածավալ պատերազմի հետևանքով ավերվեցին նաև մշակութային բազմաթիվ կոթողներ։ «Լքված լինելով միջազգային հանրության կողմից և դիմակայելով Արցախի գոյության նկատմամբ սպառնալիքին և հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ ևս մեկ ցեղասպանության վտանգին, Հայաստանը ստորագրեց հրադադարի հայտարարություն՝ Ռուսաստանի միջնորդությամբ, որը Ադրբեջանին թույլ տվեց հսկողության տակ վերցնել Արցախի մի զգալի մասը և Շուշի քաղաքը», գրված է բանաձևում։ Հետևաբար, Լոս Անջելես քաղաքը ժամանակավորապես կասեցնում է Շուշի քաղաքի հետ «բարեկամ քաղաք» հարաբերությունն այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ այն ապօրինաբար գտնվում է Ադրբեջանի հսկողության տակ։ Այդ կարգավիճակը կվերահաստատվի, երբ Շուշին ազատ կլինի ադրբեջանցիների բռնազավթումից և կվերականգնվի ժողովրդավարական Արցախի Հանրապետության կազմում», գրված է բանաձևում։Լոս Անջելեսի քաղաքային խորհուրդը նաև զորակցություն է հայտնել  Շուշիի քաղաքապետ Արծվիկ Սարգսյանին և քաղաքի՝ ժողովրդավարական ընտրություններով ընտրված ամբողջ ղեկավարությանը՝ սպասելով ադրբեջանական բռնազավթումից Շուշիի ազատագրման օրվան։

ABU DHABI, 11th March, 2021 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received a written message from President of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, on promoting bilateral relations.

The message was delivered to H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as he welcomed Ara Ayvazyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, over a dinner banquet Sheikh Abdullah hosted for the guest.

The two top diplomats reviewed the prospects of accelerating cooperation between the two nations across various fields, including investment and food security.

The meeting also addressed a number of regional and international issues of interest, with Sheikh Abdullah hailing the privileged relations between the two sides and the UAE’s keenness to advance them to a higher level.

The Armenian minister said his country is looking forward to enhancing the bilateral relations and commended the stature boasted by the UAE at the regional and international levels. WAM/Hatem Mohamed

Maral Najaryan is at home after months in Azerbaijani captivity still missing husband

Lebanese-Armenian Maral Najarian arrived in Beirut and now is at home after months spending in captivity in Azerbaijan

Maral Najarian had moved to Berdzor, Artsakh after the massive Beirut port explosion. She was taken prisoner along with the taxi driver on Goris-Stepanakert highway when heading to Berdzor to transport her personal belongings to Yerevan after the end of the war on 11 November 2020. Azerbaijan later officially confirmed the fact of the woman’s capture and some reports suggest that she is being kept in Gobustan prison, about 70 km away from Baku.

..in his phone and told we were terrorists and that they could not let us go. They beat Vicken and put us in a 4×4 vehicle and took us to Azerbaijan. The vehicle was filled with gas tanks and we thought that they will burn the car with us inside as they closed the windows…

Vicken’s eyes were closed and I told him that they will burn us alive. I was very frightened. I had no hope that I would be freed from there (Azerbaijan). But I kept my faith in God. They never beat me, but that doesn’t mean they treated me in an extraordinary way.
