Best-preserved early Christianity monument is discovered in Karabakh
The Amaras Monastery, which is located in Martuni Region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh), is one of the best preserved monuments that were built during the early Christianity.
And as a result of archaeological excavations in the area of this monastery, the eastern entrance to the tomb of St. Grigoris—who was ordained as bishop of the Eastern Lands of Armenia, which included Artsakh—was discovered in the St. Grigoris Church, which was built in the early 4th century.
“Of course, the Azerbaijanis had conducted excavations [here] before us [i.e. Armenians],” said archeologist Hamlet Petrosyan. “We also found the 1959 bottle, where it was written that they [i.e. the Azerbaijanis] conducted excavations and found nothing. But we achieved the desired result.”
Petrosyan also noted that the discovered eastern entrance to this tomb has a slab floor, which is not seen in any other Christian structures.
The NKR Ministry of Economy has informed that the museumification of this newly-discovered tomb was conducted in the year past, and by way of installing a glass cover, which is a new phenomenon for post-Soviet Armenia and Karabakh.
The Amaras Monastery is among the sites of early period Armenian architecture in Artsakh.

The film on the Armenian Genocide “The Promise” in the crosshairs of pro-Turkish online
“After the first screening of the film [the International Film Festival in Toronto in September 2016], there were already harvested 70 000 negative reviews on IMDB,” recalls Mike Medavoy, co-producer of “The Promise” in US magazine Variety . This deluge of fanciful visibly critics finally got the patience of the site team, Tuesday 25 October, which made a big household to keep only twenty opinions.
“Lies historical shameless”
“The Promise” addresses the issue of the Armenian genocide of 1915 through a love story between the characters played by Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac and French Charlotte Le Bon. A sensitive subject if ever there was in Turkey. Ankara denies ever since the term genocide and unleashed his anger against anyone who challenges the official version, according to which there were massacres that have made the Turkish and Armenian victims.
The film’s Irish director Terry George, to whom we must also “Hotel Rwanda”, has thus found in the crosshairs of an army of online supporters Turkish authorities. The tone of the comments that France 24 could consult before their disappearance, leaves little room for doubt. There is no question of cinematic qualities but, among others, of “blatant historical lies” and a feature film, “funded by the Armenian money to harm Turkey.”

Styopa Safaryan. It is obvious that Gagik Tsarukyan has hopes with the government
Styope Safaryan considers this an obvious fact that Gagik Tsarukyan’s statement are related to the upcoming parliamentary elections “Why he thinks about it, because in any case in 2012 he got the second weight of the political field as a political force. On that basis it is notable that if his factor is removed from the political field for ever, definitely Prosperous Armenia Party will record quite humble results. Gagik Tsarukyan knows well what political support means, and surely he would not love to lose what he got in 2012. And perhaps this is the reason why he does not exclude the possibility of returning to the party before the parliamentary elections of 2017”.
