President Sargsyan to visit the southeast segment of the border and Artsakh

President of Armenia, Commander-in-Chief Serzh Sargsyan today has left on a working visit to one of the military units located at the southeast segment of the RA border, press department of the President’s Office reported.

Accompanied by the RA Minister of Defense and the highest echelon of the Armed Forces, President Sargsyan at the site of the permanent location of the unit familiarized with the combat readiness of the unit, listened to the report of the commander, conversed with the troops. Later, he toured the newly constructed barracks, familiarized with the conditions and at the canteen dined with the soldiers.

President Serzh Sargsyan commended a number of servicemen who excelled during their service.

Afterwards, the President Sargsyan left on a working visit to the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, the release reads.

4000 young Armenians to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan

Taking advantage of the Saturday, August 8th where competitions took a break, the participants of the 6th pan-Armenian Games visited Dzidzernagapert at the genocide memorial in Yerevan to pray before the eternal flame in memory of the 1.5 million Armenian victims of the 1915 Genocide perpetrated by Turkey.

Nearly 4,000 members of the delegations of the Armenian youth who participated in the 6th pan-Armenian Games visited Saturday morning at the memorial of the Armenian Genocide. The 6th pan-Armenian Games are under the sign of remembrance of the victims on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. At the head of delegations, the president of the pan-Armenian Games Organising Committee, Ichkhan Zakarian. He told the press “Dzidzernagapert and place of pilgrimage for Armenians. I do not think anyone who comes in Yerevan, can not get to the genocide memorial. The pan-Armenian Games symbolize the defense of Armenianness with a strong axis uniting Armenia, Diaspora and Artsakh. Armenia Mayors of 12 German cities visit Erebuni historical-archeological museum-reserve

Mayors of 12 German cities visited Erebuni historical-archeological museum-reserve in Yerevan, the press service of Yerevan Municipality reports.

Accompanied by a guide, they toured the halls, familiarized themselves with the history of the city of Erebuni and wrote entries to the guest book.
