Tokyo hosts week of Armenian culture

f56fa38c2be061_56fa38c2be097.thumbA week of Armenian culture was organized in Tokyo from March 22 to 27 to introduce the Armenian art to the Japanese society.
A range of events were held as part of the initiative, attracting both Japanese and Armenian artists, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.
The week of culture opened at the exhibition hall Daikanyama Hillside Terrace, which held an exhibition featuring the Japanese aesthetic art, including pieces by Arev Petrosyan, an Armenian artist and designer, and Makoto Maeda, a Japanese painter.

Also, prominent Armenian opera singer Arax Mansouryan performed a concert accompanied by pianist Takahiro Akiba. The participants enjoyed joint classical music concerts by Armenian and Japanese musicians, as well as movies of Armenian and Japanese productions.
The Week of Culture was organized by the Armenian Embassy to Japan in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, as well as community organizations and other institutions.

The 145th anniversary of Komitas celebrated with a concert in Tokyo (Japan)

The 145th anniversary of the birth of Komitas was celebrated on July 2 in the famous room “Kinga-Yamaha” Tokyo (Japan) concert pianist Takahiro Akiba. Concert organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Japan. Many arton101327-307x300Japanese music lovers, as well as members of the Armenian community in Japan attended the concert. Takahiro Akiba studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In 2013 at the Komitas festival which took place in Germany, she won the first prize.
